It would be so nice, if each and every one of us, could have a friend as loyal and awesome as Charlie Hodge! Even for a little while. RIP Charlie! And thanks for taking care of the King for us all, for so long! God bless you, sir!
When I watch the concerts I always notice Charlie's extreme dedication to Elvis, sometimes he's completely delighted to stare at him. Very professional. Maybe one of the best people Elvis has ever had. It must have been an enormous pain the death of his Friend. Must have missed Elvis until the end of his life.
No singer in the world had friends so close to him. Of course., Elvis care for them. Gave them cars, money and house. As Charlie said , "The world is better having him here". I hope God blessed all of them. Great memories. I love you all and all Elvis fans. Happy new year 2019. I am from Malaysia.
Yes Charlie Hodge, Joe Esposito, George Klein, Jerry Schilling, Larry Gellar, J.D.Sumner, Dean Nichopolous, true friends of Elvis. George Klein met Elvis at school not sure how old they were, George kept Elvis's legacy alive till the day he passed away 2019. R.I.P. Elvis and your true friends
charlie and scottie moore was the only true friends elvis had..all the rest was just back stabbing him and taking from him.But elvis is still number 1 forever..the greatest wonder of the world..

Charlie was always my favorite of Elvis' inner circle. I met him in Memphis and he was very fuuny. Also a very nice giy, He is sadly missed. Karen Wilson Glen Lyn, Va.
Charlie was a very good friend of mine , he lived with me for a month and a half , we had a great time , and he would tell me different stories every night, and sometime we would start to cry together i miss him very much ,and so did my wife she is a nurse and one night he wasnot feeling to good so she took his tempiture, and i have pictures with him in his P.Js and a thermometer in his mouth Charlie my friend ,may you walk with God forever, God Bless your friend , Selvis
Great story allso a lovely memorie to have she seemed a good down to earth guy .its sad lovely Are nearly all passed what a bit history to live throughout never seemed such better times back then America seemed so different for the better sad times and very good times great story thank you
It was sad to hear Charlie say how the other guys kept him away from some of the fun or things they were doing with Elvis. The humbleness in Charlie's voice speaks volumes. What a friend... God Bless You!!
That is what you call a real good friend of Elvis. Elvis was blessed to have Charlie in his corner. I believe to Elvis, Charlie was the closet thing to a brother. In fact, proabaly even more, Charlie stayed in the same house with Elvis until Elvis died. Charlie was with Elvis for almost 20 years. The next closet one to Elvis might be Jerry Schilling. I am not sure but it is just my opinion. I know that Jerry is the only one close to the family and Elvis daughter even today.
Charlie Hodge was always my favorite member of Elvis' inter circle. I met him in Memphis and he was a great guy! Very, Very funny! Karen Wilson Glen Lyn, Va.
WATCHING THIS MAKES ME LAUGH AND CRY...2 WONDER FULL MEN...ELVIS PRESLEY AND HIS MUSIC...WILL GIVE ME JOY UNTIL THE DAY I DIE...GOD BLESS...ELVIS PRESLEY AND CHARLIE HODGE...AND ALL THE WONDER FULL .SINGERS AND BAND MEMBERS.. WHO PERFORMED WITH HIM..THANK YOU..T.C.B.....
A beautiful man, loyal friend and brother to Elvis. In another documentary, Charli e said Elvis suffered from bone cancer. Dr. Nick told Charlie in confidentiality, and charlie kept quiet. Only he and dr. Nick knew, nobody else, Elvis didn't even know Charlie knew. This came out after dr. Nick died, due to doctor patient confidentiality. That poor dr. Hounded by the press, criticised, but he still kept Elvis's illness quiet. There were reasons for those meds, not just addiction, but by then Elvis was probably dying anyway, pain-relief and comfort were priorities , Elvis never told anyone in his entourage, his girlfriend, Vernon, only he and dr.nick knew. That's why he wanted to keep going as long as possible. For his fans, to keep busy, and possibly financial reasons, that CBS concert in 77was an important event for Elvis. I'm so glad he did that now, though I'll, he still showed his brilliance.
We all need encouragement..........needed to grow up...........in the end..he was alone .......charlie you seem like a good guy....but gave up your marriage forr a lifestyle. Even though you seemed most caring friend.
"I saw the impact he made on the whole world" - Charlie Hodge. That is a fact. Elvis impacted our lives here on the other side of the world in tiny South Africa in the 60's/70's like no other singer has ever done before or after. He was a massive success and a legend here. Millions of his gospel and rock/country records were sold here even though we hadn't seen him on tv until end of 1975. That's the year our Country got tv transmission. We loved Elvis, his voice and his music. Miss you EP. Always in our hearts.... 👍🇿🇦🙏
I don't care wat any one says Charlie loved elvis he was his right hand man he really cared and looked out for elvis a true friend and elvis loved him , they met in the army when they got out he went to work for elvis as did joe Esposito
Personal opinion: All his close confidants were all "involved" not RESPONSIBLE in his lifestyle. When you "care"(which is what he required of you) for a person and their health, you either bale out of the situation, when you no longer condone it. Meaning the addiction behavior. You no longer can tolerate it (because it does affect you physically and mentally at a personal point) OR stick around and watch the deterioration of that person. The later part, is what I believe, was the choice of most of his close confidants and watched him EXPIRE. May we all RIP at some point in our lives. Amen
sandra trudeau yeah I agree with you. Having lived with an active alcoholic, it’s really tough to live with them and I couldn’t carry on doing it. It was soul destroying. Addictions are straight out death sentences with many casualties.
RIP Elvis, Charlie, and JD. Nice DVD. Thirtynine years since the death of Elvis as of yesterday. Eighteen for JD and ten for Charlie. Hope all are singing with the angels. How time flies. At least we have Elvis' music, movies and DVD s of some of Elvis' s concerts.
When I think of Elvis, I almost always think of Charlie, too..They were a team..After reading Charlies book I realized how important Charie was with the on stage shows. He was truly a great friend and you can hear the love in Charlies voice, talking about his friend.
I was talking to Charlie one night and the conversation turned to Elvis, he lit up light a bright light. He truly love that man dearly. RIP Charlie, he rest with his family in Priceville, Ala.
We know one of Charlie Hodges cousins and he told us that Charlie would let him know in advance when Elvis was singing in Alabama and he would go and purchase tickets for a certain show on a certain date even before the venue management was aware. Ha ha he says sometimes they would tell him, there is no Elvis show coming up and he would say don't worry just block me the seats I want and lo and behold in a couple of weeks it would be made public and he did not have to make a mad dash to get the tickets.
Elvis gave this klein so many presents tht e didn't show elvis appreciation enough also George kline critizize tht elvis lok bt er older than younger elvis was still elvis es loks young as wel so kline shld cut of tht stupid dumb remark jus no elvis was the biggest star in the universe
We missed Charlie Hodge so much March 8th 2013 at Memories Theatre in Pigeon Forge Tn. Eddie Miles returned there to do his show. It was a great show but just not the same without Charlie. I wore my button with a picture of Charlie and Eddie on it. The world is a better place because you were here Charlie. Thanks for all the laughs, songs, and happy Memories!!!
Thank you very much you guys talk about Charlie no one really talks about Charlie but he was a good man and I knew that and a lot of other people do he was his right hand man thank you Charlie or take care Elvis
