Alan was always an irresponsible jerk even all the way back in episode 1 when he invited jake to live with charlie without even asking him or even when he first appeared but it was around this time where there were next to no excuses left for him

No, it was the time Alan siphoned gas from Charlie’s tank to compensate himself for less than $50 that he gave to Charlie, and *still* wanted him to pay back the remaining amount(after Charlie was willing to call it even.)

Jake is a bit of a slug, but this kid is awful.

Alan apparently thinks Charlie owes him a living. Has he even paid Charlie any rent in the years he’s lived there?

@@gwendolynsmith9532 Nope, not one single penny went from Alan to Charlie.

@@gwendolynsmith9532 Once I would have said that Charlie's owed him after sleeping with Alan's lawyer during his first divorce, thus ending paying a lot of money. But after Alan's second divorce, using his winnings to spend on her, causing his own downfall. At that point Alan has no more room for excuses.

One of these moments that make you think Alan is legitimately cursed.

But Alan got greedy and stupid by trying to have an affair with Melissa when he moved in with Lyndsey. Plus, he was careless and left a lit pipe near the curtains in Lyndsey's home, which started the fire.

@@charlespeakjr2168 Oh hell yeah! Alan picked a terrible to follow Charlie’s example. Hell, Charlie wasn’t even being a hypocrite when calling Alan out on it because he wasn’t (and couldn’t be) against Alan sleeping with one than woman at time, Charlie was just overall against literally anything that involved Alan living in Charlie’s house.

So true. His lies, his stinginess. He was okay, until season 6. Just annoying

@darkwarriormaster9644 Alan tries to be a decent person, yet gets ridiculed and taken advantage of by his brother, mother, son, Berta, but most of all, Judith. Now, when the few times things do go his way. Alan will get greedy and stupid, does not listen to common sense, and will continue to do the same things that got him in trouble in the first place.
