While I prefer Charmcaster redeemed, I like the Idea of the stone creatures as magical constructs a lot more than an a sentient species. Since the latter has bad implications for how they were treated in pretty much every other time they appeared, including by Gwen 10.000 who basically had one as a dog for her nephew.
I am shocked that Adwaitia is from Terraspin's species but it is so interesting. Of course a guy immune to mana would conquer a dimension where people use that to defend themselves. Also Galapagas talking about him like an important figure and Greg wanting to absorb one of them make so much sense. Man I love when everything is connected.
It makes sense Adwaitia would be a "celebrity" on his home planet. He's literally the only one of the species we see doing anything other than being a monk(except Galapagas, but that was against his will). No matter how peaceful your entire species is, the one guy who's basically a goth and social rebel will always be brought up in conversation And I like how they do the connecting thing alot, really helps with world building in a series with as big a universe as Ben 10's
it is weird though; Galapagus described his people as being completely pacifist and against any notion of violence and ill will, and yet, here's Adwaitia dominating and enslaving an entire dimension, attacking any and all that even dare walk freely in his domain etc. like that's the entire opposite of what Galapagus said his species was about, worst of all, Galapagus himself goes on to praise Adwaitia's name like he's some benevolent god of good fortune and worth worshipping

Possibly prior to Adwaita conquering it he was some hero who used magic for the good of his species. Like if Superman saved the earth all the time, but when he went to a different planet he was a supreme dictator. No one on Earth knows what kind of monster he is just that he’s a hero to them
Charmcaster is like the Doctor Strange/Zatanna/Constantine of the Ben 10 universe (highly disciplined but limited magic user with potential to gain unlimited power through practice and external means) where as Gwen is more like Wanda/Jean Grey/Raven (unlimited power user but less skilled at using abilities and becomes more powerful when out of control), the writers could've definitely done more with her character and storyline.
Have you noticed Charmcaster's eyes are blue when she's on Earth but when she's in Legerdomain her eyes are purple, I like to think its because of the all the magic flowing through Legerdomain
She reminded me of Doctor Doom. In the same way Doom wanted to free his mother from Mephisto, Charmcaster also wanted to have her father back and was willing to sacrificing everything.
Adwaigia's prolonged exposure to legerdomain has likely caused his body to alter... or at the very least granted immortality. He could be a more primitive form of Terraspin's species.
@@glenlewis1086 Addwaitya was said to be a reverted philosopher among his species who seemingly achieved godhood. Since Geochelone Aerio are kind and gentle, they assume that Addwaitya is like that too.
I would have liked to see Charmcaster redeem herself within Ben 10 and become an occasional ally. Unfortunately, it seems like Kevin was the only reoccurring villain to become good and stay a good guy.

Ben and Charmcaster should have dated like just even one time because if Gwen can date and marry Ben's rival (Kevin Levin) then Charmcaster (Gwen's rival) and Ben being a thing isn't that farfetched.
I'm not saying Charmcaster is irredeemable, but it's not like she wasn't properly set up the way she was in Omniverse. Between sacrificing a lot of people, her father rejecting what she did for him, & Dark Star using her (as well as not even remembering her name), I think she got pushed over the edge. And as we've established, she's pretty insecure about herself.

Same here. To me UAF set up two paths for her, and while i think the redemption path would've been better, the other path worked just fine. (Plus, o really enjoyed her in Omniverse)
I just don't like her personality in ov. They made her like a crazy cat lady. She didn't need to be redeemed but ov kind of just made her an annoying version of her os self.
8:54 unpopular opinion: I kinda dig omniverse’s design of legerdemain, I agree that it’s a bit much but the bizzar look of it makes it feel more like it’s own thing and screams out the chaotic nature of magic, while UA always looked like a magical version of the null void as a kid
i always got the impression that there was more to Charmcaster ever since Classic, even if there's no justifying some of the things she's done, so it was nice to see a more vulnerable side of her character. though, it would've been cool to have her and gwen stay as friendly rivals rather than Charmcaster going back to being full-on evil.

I would've liked Charmcaster to be redeemed. It'd be a nice parallel to Ben and Kevins rivalry and then bromance also we could have had an ominiverse trio of Ben, Rook and Charmcaster.
Or maybe his body deteriorated from all the magic use. His "immunity" to it and frequent use probably had unexpected repurcussions and clashed with one another, in a sense. Plus, maybe he's extended his lifespan with magic beyond how long his species should be capable of living, but he couldn't fully repair his body since his soul also aged too long or something
It actually makes sense that Addwaitya would become the most powerful being in Ledgerdomain. His species are immune to magic/mana, but they can also still use magic as well. Being immune to the main source of attack of an entire dimension as well as being able to use said attack yourself, it'd be easy to conquer the entire dimension
As much as I like Omniverse, it was disappointing having Charmcaster revert back to being a straight-up villain again. If the Tennyson's can forgive Kevin for the many times he's tried to kill them (specifically Ben) as kids, then Charmcaster really hasn't done anything too irredeemable to warrant her still being an enemy. Kevin considers Ben a younger brother, so it's possible for Gwen and Charmcaster to develop a close friendship despite the rocky start to their relationship. I wouldn't even mind her joining the trio for a time.
We did get her after the universe “reboot” so maybe Ben still thought she was somewhat evil not insane but he remembered what happened and that probably affected her

I like it when characters have more interesting color patterns (and in this case eye color) so I prefer Charm Caster’s purple eyes a lot more than the blue
I agree with Kuro in that Ledgerdomain needed a little more detail, but it still looked awesome. Kinda like one of those abstract paintings you'd see in art exhibits
I like to imagine that Adwatia is viewed as having ascended kinda like the Buddha. Physically evolved (basically going ultimate) but being charged with magic rather than DNA.
Charmcaster might be the second villian who was able to successfully kill the trio and could have gotten away with it assuming their friends wouldn’t try to avenge them
It would if been so cool if charmcaster redeemed herself and became Gwen's roommate in college with hex as there teacher. Maybe omniverse could of done something where the three of them combine their powers and bring back spell binder for good without killing everyone.
I like to think that Adwetia is a subspecies of his people that doesn't have the spinning ability but has some other powers to make up for that. There is very little that we know about him, so there is a lot of room for the imagination.
Ya know. I think I liked the expansion on magic users in general. By Omniverse there's a least a rogues gallery of different enemies that Gwen knows and has clearly dealt with plenty of times by then so it's cool. Anyway.. Hero Time!
I've always felt mix on whether or not Charmcaster on being redeemed. On one hand it can explore more her character and makes her and Gwen interactions more interesting. On the other hand alot of the things I and many fans enjoy her chaotic wicked nature from most of the series.

It would've been interesting to see Charmcaster be redeemed. Kevin is proof that it's possible. It seem by Omniverse, they didn't know what to do with her character and just decided to make her wacky.
More that they were trying to strike a balance by making her look and act more like her original self, but also keeping the possibility of her being redeemed open.
@@theking8347 a big part on why I dislike omniverse so much was the fact that they were scared of viewership decreasing so much, they failed to develop characters. Her design is whatever, I prefer the UAF design but that's my preference. The fact that she essentially became a one off goofy Gwen's enemy character again shows just how little care was done for the character. Personally, I would've loved to have concluded her character arc continuing on from this point to have turned into a witch employed by the plumbers or idk travelling the magic dimensions being a force for good
I like her personality in Omniverse, she's really fun, but I don't understand why they're so resilient to redeem some of their villains, like Albedo or Charmcaster

I honestly would’ve loved if Charmcaster and Gwen had a relationship similar to Ben and Kevin, it would’ve added another part to the team and another piece to explore in her character

It's a mix of both because while it is clear that the people behind omniverse( with several of them also working on uaf) wanted her to be a villain again, the overall tone of omniverse didn't fit with the stories they were telling with charm caster in uaf
I always thought Charmcaster was the wild card of the Ben 10 villains. We never really knew what she would do when she showed up. Half the time trying to kill Gwen and the team, other times she worked with them and protected them. She plays a similar role to Scarlet Witch in Marvel Comics, where half the time she's a villain and the rest of the time she's an anti-hero/hero character.

How else do you depict a realm where there's no rules except the one magic users dictate than with some trippy ass imagery? UA Ledgerdomain looks barren, but not barren in a liminal space way, like Dimension X in the Rise ofthe TMNT movie.
To me, it didn't make much sense for charmcaster to get redeemed as she didn't appear to have that much remorse in classic. Edit: Now that I think about it, I think my biggest problem with her is that I can't even understand why she's evil to begin with. I get that Hex sometimes forced her to do bad stuff, but other times she's seen to act on her own out of spite for gwen

I’m hoping the sixth iteration Ben 10 series would have an alternate Charmcaster/Heather slowly become good and join alternate Ben’s alien force team along with an alternate version of Rook Blanko. And maybe have both Ben and Charmcaster have a romantic relationship like Gwen and Kevin in Ben 10: Alien Force.
I always liked the idea of redeeming Charmcaster even since the time she deceived Gwen in her debut. It hurt when she got changed to a lunatic in Omniverse.
I think Charmcaster's natural eye colour is blue, but when she's using magic in some way (or in places of high magic like ledgerdomain) they get a more purple tint since magic in UAF is mostly pink.
You know Ben might have survived the 2:04 mana thing if he went Ultimate Chromastone, but is not a pointess fight with knight or just to deal with fans, so why would be using ultimates in ultimate alien Thats not the Main gimik
Charmcaster is one of those villains you love to hate but since ultimate alien expanded on the ledger domain, now I kind of understand why her and her uncle hex became so power hungry to conquer earth. Also since after the failed sacrifice she made with the 600 thousand souls including Ben, Kevin and Gwen's to ressurect her father, something broke in her. Now I just feel pity.
I like to think the ‘Alpha Tune’ was more of a legend in Ledger Domain. Paradox just placed it there and its raw power enhanced the abilities of the wearer. Thus people believed it was truly the Alpha Rune
I really would've liked to see Charmcaster redeemed, and maybe even join the team. She would've made a great addition as a partner and maybe even best-friend to Gwen akin to Ben and Kevin, and it was sort of hinted at in this very episode. In my head canon, Charmcaster and Gwen are best buds somewhere out there, studying magic, and having smoothies.
I think Charmcaster might be both. Sure she helped Gwen this episode, but she did kill Gwen in an alternative timeliness and was going to do it to the real Gwen. Plus she was the only person who actually killed the trio. If not for Charmcaster's father thinking that her actions was wrong and cruel, the trio would've remained killed.
Something else that I think contributed to Charmcaster not getting redeemed (at least in universe) was Darkstar manipulating her. That made her break down after removing him from Ledgerdomain. Between that and Spellbinder rejecting the resurrection, I'm not surprised she went fully nuts in OV.
Aggregor needed more active conflict with the main Trio. His power is a little confusing as to how strong he *really is* but that has ALWAYS been a problem with this series since both Ben, Gwen, and sometimes even Kevin could possibly be considered the strongest of the 3 depending on where we are in the series, this was especially a thing with Gwen's anodite side not getting fully brought through on. Aggregor has a solid personality but never really gets to do anything interesting to make us engaged with him like Vilgax or honestly even Maltruant and Malware. At the end of the day he just ends up being a big powerful asshole who just so happens to have a connection to Kevin that only comes through at the very end.
I wish we got a fight between Ultimate Humungousaur and Ultimate Aggregor. Not only because Ultimate Humungousaur would probably win (he put up a better fight against Ultimate Kevin WITH Ultimate Greg's powers than Ultimate Greg did against him without them) but because Ultimate Humungousaur is kinda the staple alien of the Ultimates and the leader of them in Ultimate Sacrifice. Plus regular Humungousaur couldn't beat Greg so if Ultimate Humungousaur could beat him, it would show why he needs Ultimates.
I prefer evil Charmcaster tbh, like she has that Azula energy where she works better as a rival to Gwen. Maybe down the line in the future, sure... but idk.

Okay I am REALLY excited for the Ledgerdomain From Beyond episode. Of all the potentially interesting areas the show had, this is one I was really curious about. Personally I love that bit where Ben remembers what Aggregor wrote. Bits that show Ben as smart always are welcome for me^^ Also I admit I really like that she got her bag back here^^ And personally I prefer her with purple eyes. I also prefer her redeemed, and it really annoyed me that they flipped her back to evil in OV. Always hate character regression. And it's especially insulting when Ben upon seeing her again immediately calls her evil and distrust her - even though last time they saw one another they were on more ambiguous terms. Because fuck subtlty I guess.
Tbh ov turning charmcaster into insane was not charcter regression, ua gave enough reasons for charmcaster to turn insane in ov, but ov also hinted for charmcasters redemption in her last episode
A more elaborated fight of Terraspin, Gwen, and Charmcaster vs Adwaita would've been nice. In fact, it would've been nice if Ben used the respective Andromeda alien depending of the place they're at. But I guess it's just as fitting if Ben uses a different Ultimate alien for each different place while Aggregor is the one using the perks of the Andromeda 5.
I partly thought that Hex’s reason for world domination was to raise an army against Addwaitya. But since his fall from power, Hex eventually gave up his villain role, losing all motivation.
After Legerdomain was introduced I was really hoping for a return of Verdona. To see how an Annodite would react to a dimension of Mana/Magic. Was Legerdomain an Annodite version of the Null Void? Were Annodites escapees from Legerdomain? Stuff like that. Side note - If Terraspin were to go 'Ultimate', how would that affect his External Mana Nullification ability?
Interesting that they didn’t play around with the idea of Kevin absorbing the magic rock material established in Time Heals, where Charmcaster was able to control/enslave him magically the same as her rock monsters. Maybe Terraspin and Kevin could’ve joined in on the group effort at 17:04? Chromastone can manipulate energy, so it was a little disappointing not seeing anything made of that either.
2:07 Wait what?!? Dagon? You mean the main antagonist for the end of Ben 10 Ultimate Alien? I didn't know that, this really caught me by surprise, when you said that.
I loved how they gave Charmcaster's background in this episode. I was not fan at first but then I thought it would have been cool had Charm switched sides with Ben's team and both her and Gwen help out each other in their magic flaws they've had. Sad that they couldn't carry on.
I would've loved a redemption arc for Charmcaster, but instead of making her good, I would've made her chaotic neutral instead. After everything she went trough in Ledgerdomain and will go trough troughout the series, it makes sense that she goes nuts. However, especialy after this episode, she should've realized that having Gwen around does help her as well. I feel like she should've turned as nuts as she does in Omniverse, without the blind hatred towards Gwen
Here's a headcanon for why Adwaitya can be harmed by mana: He has absorbed so much mana, incorporated it into his body, to the point that he now resembles his species only in shape. Biologically, he has changed ironically to the point that he has lost his biological immunity. The "You actually managed to hurt me line," does contain this hint of concern like, "oh... shit, that's not right"
That's basically. Dwayne said that Addwaita's immense magical powers mutated his body to the point that the only resemblance he has to a Geochelone Aerio anymore is that he's a bipedal turtle. Dwayne said that he still has his species' wind abilities though, but him losing his immunity to mana is reasonable.
Regarding Charmcasters eyes I believe it's part of the whole mythology of witches that their eyes change colours,being a clear indicator of being with during pilgrim times. so it's likely a reference, or a mistake...
I wished the writers would have went more in depth on the concept of magic/mana and its users like anodites galapegus and adwatia race and the alpha rune. My headcanon is that ledgerdomain is a dimension that connects earth's dimension to other infinite mystical dimensions. My biggest annoyance is anodites being from earth dimension instead of ledgerdomain or other dimensions. Ledgerdomain could definitely use some more stuff. Like winx magic dimension or the warp in warhammer40k.
It would've been interesting if Charmcaster was more or less redeemed, but had a moral compass that just didn't quite mesh with the crew. Which... we do see in this series, in how self-serving Charmcaster tends to be in most of her goals and motivations such as how she is willing to put others at risk or in harms way or exploit them for her own ends. She might be willing to work with the heroes if it furthers her goals, and some of her goals might be noble, but she isn't intrinsically heroic. That way she could remain a separate entity doing her own thing most of the time, and team up with Ben or Gwen whenever more traditional, non-alien magic-y stuff is going on in which they need her help. And then in turn, they owe her a favor which she comes to collect on later for... morally questionable assistance that leads to yet another confrontation between Ben/Gwen and Charmcaster. It would've been a way to leave the story open to more plot threads.

I think I prefer the omniverse ledger domain. It's completely bizarre and chaotic, while this one looks a bit too much like the null void. But speaking of designs, I cannot get over how bad charmcasters UAF design is. Both her classic and omniverse designs have so much personality, they're great. But UAF charmcaster looks so boring and flat! She looks like a throwaway he man character or something, it's so bad.
One thing I don't like about Charm Caster in UA and AF is how they just retconned her age. They like to act as if Caster and Gwen are the same age, but when you look at classic, they CLEARLY aren't. Which makes moments like the excited happy hug a little awkward. Remember, gwen is like 16, 17 and Caster is like 26, 28. A tax payer and a teen minor. I feel like if they stuck to the original depiction of how much older she is supposed to be, this relationship would look alot different. Apparently it was 10 to 15 in classic and 16 to 21 in UA, so perhaps the huge visual gap in classic is more-so the error rather than this rendition from AF and UA. We could also just blame UA/AFs art style making all teens look like full grown adults :/ That's one thing I appreciated with UAs art style, it did make the characters ages more accurately pronounced visually speaking.
Maybe doing a twister spell and teleportation spell at the same time exhausted her up in fused? Purple eyed Charmcaster. 10:30 Kenny’s pet rock monster came back to life after being shattered, maybe Charmcaster’s do to. I love how everyone, characters and audience gets so caught up with Charmcaster’s backstory and Adwatia that they forget about Aggregor. Can anyone explain how the alpha returns in enemy of my frenemy? Please make a full breakdown of Perplexahedron!
Btw, I think Charmcaster's snake-staff trick from the beginning is a reference to the Ten Commandments(or the Prince of Egypt, it happens in both versions)
Seriously, with how passionate the crew of the show was with redeeming Charmcaster, I wish they had gone for it! The pieces were all there! Imagine if she had stuck around after Aggregor got the piece of the map he needed, wanting to further make up for her villainous past, becoming good friends with Gwen, etc. But instead they had her kill the main trio, date Darkstar and go absolutely nuts. What a waste.

now I wish charmcaster was turned to their side early enough for it to be established that kevin and gwen got together then ben and charmcaster got together. It'd be a cool dynamic if the two cousins ended up with the other's main villain counterpart.
Ledgerdomain was always knock-off Null Void for me. Rock structures weren't enough to really distinguish it enough. The weird sky gravity was nice, wish we got more of that. Have this dimension of magic actually feel like a dimension of magic. Everything else I thought was interesting though. Charmcaster's characterization and backstory hints and Adwaytia specifically.

Addwaitya, considering how ancient he is, is likely a much earlier version of Galapagus's species, separated evolutionarily by billions of years. His species adapted to manipulate air far after he was born, this is why he lacks the vents, along with the various other smaller differences in his physiology, though much of those could come down to magic altering his body, something as major as the vents are absolutely due to evolution.
11:22 "Just some of his species look like this" Actually, according to canon sources Addwaitya is thousands of years old (which could be due to Geochelone Aerio being a tortoise based species, which do have long lifespans, or his mana extending his lifespan beyond that of a normal member of his species). Thus, his different appearance could simply be due to the fact he's a primitive Geochelone Aerio from well before Galapagus's time. Perhaps in the thousands of years before the events of Galapagus being kidnapped, Aldabra was a very different place that was more desert-like or more ocean based (we only do get to see some of the planet, and it's just grassy plains). Addwaitya's shell and claws remind me of an alligator snapping turtle, so perhaps the Geochelone Aerio didn't have their air-based abilities and only received them through natural selection. In a way, if Ben received the DNA sample from Addwaitya and used the ultimatrix on it, he'd probably get Terraspin (or something close to it) as the ultimate form.
Episodes like this makes me upset that Charmcaster's development fail off after Ultimate Alien. I do like how Hex showed some remorse and responsibility for Charmcaster's upbringing in Omniverse, but I felt like UA was setting her up, not as a full on hero, but more of an anti-hero like Kevin. Would've been cool to have another magic user added to the cast outside of Hex who became a university teacher and haven't done anything of important since Alien Force. I understand Derrick like Charmcaster as a villain, but I really wish he didn't just scrap what Ultimate Alien set up for the sake of that unless he throw in hints that Charmcaster is still redeemable. It seem like whenever Charmcaster is getting close to being redeem it always just ends where it started, even in the reboot, unlike Kevin.
