You might try taking a small file and carefully and a little at a time deepen the rear u notch. To me it looks like thar rear notch wasn't cut deep enough. Just go slow, start in the middle and then the sides. Remember you can always take more off but you can't put it back on.
Great video the proper way to describe the back sight or lack of one . We call it gutter sights. Hope this is received with all the respect I intended. Great Video.
I have to put the very bottom of the front sight where it is connected to the frame at the bottom of the window of the back site basically what most people do is file the site down halfway and then it's perfect alignment
iI have been bouncing around RU-vid videos to find a good reviews for a pocket 357 mag revolver. seeing how well charter arms took care of you made the decision for me. I'll be buying this gun this week to replace my pocket 380. According to the FBI (2019) most civilian gunfights are 3 rounds from a distance of 3 yards so the accuracy and ammo capacity of this gun is sufficient for self defense. I only As far as the recoil theory i was wondering what would have happened if someone with a smaller hand or weaker wrist shot it . I'm going to save this video in my favorites. When i go to the range in a few weeks ill try it and then let my G/F try it . If it shoots low for me with my large hands but the right elevation for her ill post a video and leave a link here . I like the recoil aim theory and cant wait to test it. Thank You for such a well made informative video.
Try .38 spl 148 gr full wad cutter match ammo and 158gr .38 spl standard pressure also. You’ll need to file front sight to a load you want to carry. You can also have your front sight stick up above the notch and paint to that point similar to what you did. They make 3” and 4” adjustable sight models as well.
You have high standards....those groups at 5/10 yds are good enough to save your life. You also have to consider its a 2" snub not a 6" colt python. Yes thre groupings are a bit low but they will be effective. That being said, you can go with heavier grain bullets or loads that recoil more to raise your point of impact. btw good shooting and good understanding of ballistics
The grouping is decent, but bad accuracy is an issue. Good enough at 15 foot is not necessarily good enough at 30 foot, and can be absolutely useless at 45 foot. One should not ignore a problem.
Brother in law has same issue grouping low even at 5 yds ..we watched him dry fire drops the barrel every time at the snap of the hammer ...I'll put all 5 in the 10 ring....so don't start.grinding away on your sight get a 2nd opinion
Maybe you can send your head in to charter arms to be adjusted because you sure don't understand anything about these type of guns. It wouldn't be under warranty though.
My guess is that indeed your front sight was too tall..I also think that you may be anticipating recoil (especially with 357 ammo) and that is a common cause of shooting low. Did you ask them for a shipping tag? I usually take any guns to my local store (where I buy or have them shipped for transfer) any warranty issue The Store calls the company and gets a pre paid shipping label and they send gun in for me. I bought one of these myself today is how I found your video. Actually a well done video and I thank you.
