I took a very, very detailed coastal nav course (Starpath School of Navigation). Dr. Burch is amazing and so thorough! You have summarized here eloquently two of the most important concepts and procedures. BRILLIANT VIDEO!
Sir, this is mind-blowing, its the thing I never understood and was avoiding it for last 2years but in this 13min wow I didn't knew it was this easy!!! I must say you have quite good teaching skills
Thank you. Makes it very easy. It would be helpful to determining the eta at a certain position, such as abeam green island. (measuring the full distance from the starting point (of EP2) to green island, then dividing by the speed made good presumably). Thank you!
would you have a video link where you have used the speed made good due to leeway and or a current, in order to determine the eta at a certain destination? thank you.
What if the second part of the question says to allow a leeway of 10 degrees instead of counteracting. Then what will be your leeway track opposite to the wind or into the wind?
We need to counteract current or leeway to reach our desired destination. If we don't counteract, our ship will end up reaching some other place as intended as it will be pushed by the effects of the wind or current.
Please sir if we are given time the vessel should spend on the trip do we add it to the current if we are COUNTERACTING from the beginning before we add the wind
Good Day sir if we have situation 1 - allow for leeway and counteract current than which to apply first?? Situation 2 : if we have 0 degree leeway than what to do??
excuse me sir, the last part i did not understand.you have created second course made good line from EP-2 to green island.how u have created this line plz let me know sir.was the bearing 300?
Wow sir thankx alot...actually from last few days i was struggling in chartwork alot but now my concepts are clear after watching your videos... Please share your email id, i will ask questions there if i will face some difficulties 😊
