I'm having a hard time describing my love for Joel Korte and Chase Bliss in words. Their new Habit is just unreal and together with Thermae you can conquer the delay universe. I'm a sample composer and have a mood, blooper and thermae. I often find myself running tracks (synths, piano, vocals, guitar, etc.) Out of my daw, into my pedals, back into my daw. Then I will just let it loop while playing with the knobs. Then I just chop up the moments that I like for ear candy. I get results that are really hard to get with plugins. So fun!

Yup! TPS has helped me buy way too many pedals than I need. Most importantly, I've learned my rig, I've got tonal references and I began understanding sounds and tone.

Man. I've been wanting a Digitally controlled Bucket Brigade delay with MIDI, so automatically looked towards the Tonal Recall. Or the Bondi Artvan Delay. They are both discontinued, so the Thermea has been in my thoughts. Now this video!

Thanks for helping me realize I just made an pix mistake selling my thermae and habit 🤦😢. I’m not a techy person at all but want to be. I just haven’t had the patience with them so I went with an easy delay pedal. And now I’m realizing the mistake I made. Great job! Love the playing!

Your tone is heavenly. I have a blooper So if I were to buy another delay it would be a Thermae. The habit is coool tho. Knowing me I’ll get both. But i need to chill out cuz I like too much. 😎 and I already have way too many options on my board.

Consider making your own, from hardware store stuff, if you have a garage, or someplace to work. I make all my own stuff, like this, because it’s personally rewarding, I get just what I need (size/shape etc), and I don’t have to wait for shipping. Start with a electric drill, and one of those cheap plastic miter saws. With that, some inexpensive wood, and a box of screws, and you can make all kinds of things 😊

@@SashaIvantic …and 30 presets that can be tweaked with said faders and saved on the fly, and easily accessible for muppets like me. Even better with a MIDI controller, but not essential. The 1978 is one of my pedals of the decade. Great video as always, Sasha. I’d been looking at the Thermae too.

Can you create actual songs with this type of pedals or is it just like Eurorack where people generally just make outrageous noises you can enjoy for 30 seconds and never want to listen to ever again?

A lot of these wild pedals most likely will never be used for songs but can be useful for personal entertainment or incorporated for sound effects in a song or for ambient artists. On the pro level it can be used for movies and other videos

Why does the sound break-up and crackle so much with these pedals? I always avoid that kind of noise. I find it irritating and amateurish sounding. Is there some bad gain-staging going on in the setup? or is this inherent in the design of the pedals internally?

It is a feature and can be configured using the dip switches on the pedal. You can fine tune different degradation and noise artifacts or eliminate them from the signal completely

That degradation is the benefit of these vintage style chips. Perfect repeated notes sound sterile. Some warm modulation is soothing to the ears. I think you're confusing analog distortion with digital distortion. He's got the degradation set really high with the Int 1 and Int 2 knobs while the modulation dip switch in the back is engaged.

Lol. Amateurish? Look to solve your problem. Just grab a boss DD 7 use a digital delay and that’s it. This is a characteristic highly sought after an analog delays. It is what it is most people love that sound. But to say amateurish, or whatever it is laughable.

@@alexlifeson8946 can you elaborate a little Just curious because I have this pedal and the int 1 and 2 are the pitch settings for the pitch shift but if you flip the modulation dip switch, it’s rate and depth modulation but I don’t see anywhere where it’s the amount of degradation. Please fill me in if I’m wrong I’d love to know. 🙏
