I like that the US Bank Alt Reserve $325 credit is automatically applied to all dining, fast food and takeout purchases. Makes it easy to use the credit automatically.
The Sapphire Reserve is the card for me. It has all the benefits I’m looking for plus the travel partners. Plus I like that the credit can be applied to places like the travel portal and Expedia, because these are where I’m most likely to book. Thanks for this great breakdown!

@@ayman.ibrahim I called customer service and was told flights should be 3x but from actual experience after booking it was 1x for flights. I did cancel the flight so I did not worry about the 1x. The other odd thing is that I could use a different card on their portal to book travel, so for a flight you could use the CSR to get 3x points where the usb ar gets 1x on the same portal.
when I use the Chase and the US Bank through their respective travel portals they are almost identical(basically the same company). The both seem to go down for maintenance at the same time. I would recommend getting the chase trifecta over mixing the usb ar and csr.
@@engineerengineer2218 I agree. I definitely wouldn't recommend getting both these cards.....unless you're active duty military like me and don't pay annual fees.
