Chasing Rainbow Trout on the Lower Kings River

Took my son and nephew to the Lower Kings River to try our luck at some trout. With no luck we decided to hit one last spot and ended up with 2 nice fishes.

Thanks for the post...we used to have our family reunions there 67-74..every year...we used to be able to fish right up next to Pine Flat Dam...can you still fish up there or not? There used to be big wild Rainbow trout up there... thanks 👍 for posting

Yea no prob. Thanks for watching! Sadly you cant fish on that side of the bridge and you can't drive up to the dam anymore. Seems like the only time you can catch anything there is when they stock trout in the river.

Can you put a yak into avocado lake? If so I’m going to chuck some big baits there.

@@wolverinex4243 a reasonable one? If I can get a yak into there I can target deep water to shallow transition points further into the pond, and I asked because I’m not sure if they have rules about it. I don’t see the problem here 😂.

There is a ledge there real shallow I lost a lot of gear at that spot by the bridge

The river got dirty quick. I didn't go up to Pine flat. I wonder how bad it is up there.

Not as bad as the river. Lake for the most part is still clean

Any idea if upper kings is open? Planning on heading up there Xmas. I know the fishing won't be great but just gonna go after some small mouth.. Awrsome vid man ty.

Thanks. I have no idea if the upper kings river is open. Might want to try calling the ranger station up there and check first
