I live overseas now, but grew up in Fresno back in the late 70-mid 80's. Used to fish and catch crawfish in the same area you're in now. Spent a lot of time jet sking on Pine Flat Reservoir too. Thank you for sharing and bringing me back to my childhood days.
Bro im in Fresno also just started Fishing again 2x a Week , Been hitting up Hensley and want to go check out Kings River @ Choinumni Park this Tuesday Wednesday . Subbed my friend and liked
I live in Sanger and just started to fish again after I lost all my stuff a few years back. Been fishing for the last month. All I catch are pikeminnow on fish eggs and worms.
I throw those pikeminnows on shore or bonk them and throw them back. These things are making their way up into the higher streams and eating all the native trout. Where I use to catch trout, I'm catching pikeminnows.
@@fresnocitycollegeguitar6281 Yes on the old highway near the quarry just of the road. Caught some trout and some pike minnow there. I was just at trimmer the other day bites on Power Bait and a silver Panther Martin.
I say let the pike minnow go. they are native and they have coexisted with trout for hundreds of thousands if not millions of years. if you really want to help native fish like trout, get rid of bass which aren't native and are just as likely to eat young trout.
@@michaelsalazar7331 ohh sorry i didn't know a simple mistake could result in an argument and yes i did do research after this reply most species of bass were introduced to cali in the 1800s and some on the 1970s u should me mad at the public tho for spreading fales truths but all bass in cali have been categorized as naturalized meaning they found a place in this ecosystem
Use rainbow(green and orange) with glitter. That's the most popular one. Make sure power bait is floating while on hook. Use no more than 4lbs test line or leader. Just sink it with split shots.
I went out to the dam today with the set up you said. I caught one rainbow trout about 1.5 feet long in like 2 mins. Got dark so I left. Thanks for your advise its greatly appreciated.
@@ridnventures1368 ,. Congrats.. 1.5' is a nice one. One thing to consider is that below the dam is a popular place for trout plants. Usually done on Thursday or Friday sometimes weekly, other times not.
