What take most people 60lbs of gear and a long weekend he just did with two water bottles, a pair of hokas and a long morning. awesomeness!

Such a cool human moment to see him debating going back, knowing the pain that he would have to endure. Nice to see him going through the same internal struggle the rest of us do.

The awareness and focus is unreal. He knew at the turn around how bad it would hurt and just plunged right back in.

Congrats to Jim Walmsley for a fantastic Grand Canyon R2R2R Run! Jamil, this is probably the best short Grand Canyon running video I have seen so far. I'm so impressed you were able to hold the camera up steady while chasing Jim down the uneven stairsteps coming down from North Rim to the Redwall Bridge. So glad you were there to capture the moment!

Having done N Kaibab several times, watching his pace coming up that trail RUNNING is utterly astounding. Kudos to Jim for being the first human on the planet to go under 6 at R2R2R.

I would have to agree - dope gimbal work and on keeping up while filming. U filmed a historic trail event which is rare. I've been wondering why this stuff isn't televised on a regular! Thanks for giving it to the masses for free :-)

It’s amazing effort what Jim can do rim to rim x2 and less time than it took me to get down the south Kaibab to Phantom Ranch Granted I did have 40 pound pack and in the middle of the summer but nonetheless that’s pure craziness much less the cameraman it wasn’t for him this video would be possible so a little props to him Just can’t help but wonder what people are thinking when they see this dude running back down that just ran past them just a few minutes ago

How did you keep the shot so steady running 6 min miles? I am a runner and camera guy too. Great video, super impressed with your work. What was your camera setup?

Good stuff. Does Jim still hold the record? Ultra running is kind of a small sport, so I wonder if some of the top marathon runners would be able to easily beat his record. Any thoughts on that?

What's the mileage / elevation gain for this run?

Can someone explain how he does this with almost no water or food? I'm somewhat in shape, and when I ran R to R to R (granted, it was hotter, in late spring) I needed liters and liters of water and sandwiches, bars, gels, salt tabs, etc. etc. What is happening inside his body that lets him run with no fuel?

Over-rated. It was downhill all the way. (Okay, maybe just the bit that the camera man did was downhill.)

I am calling BS on this! I just did the R2R2R on Friday, there is no humanly way possible to do this run in 5:55:20! Not on that terrain.
