A collection of sights and sounds from the front of the pack of the 2017 running of the Hardrock 100. Featured athletes include Kilian Jornet, Mike Foote, Caroline Chaverot, Darcy Piceu among others. In a year that included a separated shoulder to alpine thunderstorms, here are some of the candid moments throughout various parts of the course.

100 miles is tough enough, but with a dislocated shoulder (which I've had) is a true testament to the the human spirit and Kilian's grit. Good on you my friend, and good on you all.

Spent the last two days diving in to your channel, Billy, and what's most impressive is your growth as a filmmaker over the last few years. Your voice and personality is still there, still the same, but your storytelling has sharpened, your shooting has improved, and your curation of the experience from start to finish is much more deliberate. I watch videos like this everyday. Training for my first half marathon and I get worried about this pain or that pain and I think, but look at these people running 100 miles.

Well, shit, Billy. Of course all those front-runners are great, but when Jamil picked up his kid and ran in (18:50), it gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes. Bringing what is necessary to show your kids you're a superhero; priceless.
