All one color. Much more elegant. You don’t want it to look like a circus. I saw some murals you had hanging on the wall?? That would be a perfect room for that - with your dark color on the woodwork! Tres chic!

I second the idea of checking in with little green shop for ideas. Maybe a new wallpaper may come of final selections. I mentioned also forest murals, but could be too dominant. The farrow ball colors are interesting- Parma grey, wine dark, and cornforth white. Maybe Little green could come up with wall paper for spaces and/or accent. 🎨 Maybe prime one whole wall for experimentation as that bright yellow is distracting.

I’m not a fan of multicolored rooms-but that’s personal preference. I think when you use one color, with a lighter ceiling, the eye doesn’t stop anywhere and it would bring the outdoors in; I have seen rooms with the ceiling painted with the wall color but I don’t have high ceilings and am not that brave. I like the brown but that’s probably because I’m painting my bedroom a dark brown with green undertones-I have light natural wood toned flooring though. Everything you have painted has always been a big improvement over what was there when you bought your chateau. The cottage looks amazing with the skylight! ❤️❤️

I like the wine dark for floor to ceiling trim. White for the ceiling trim and the lightest blue for the actual ceiling. When I was a child (about 60 years ago) my mother decorated our living room with a royal purple carpet and light, light blue walls. People thought she was out of her mind until they saw it. Carefully chosen fabrics brought the colors together. It was beautiful. PS-I do think the dark wine color would come closer to the feeling evoked from your inspiration picture.

in the green-yellow room, I will do one solid color, three is too much. Choose one or two, use a darker color for the moldings aka borders, and lighter for the rest of it if you choose two colors, love the dark blue and the wine color.

So happy to see you taking off this wall paper and redo that room. These look so terrible and do not fit with the rest of your house. Good news! Suggestion: put the base of the wall in a clear color and the top, the light blue. From Canada

I look at the colors for the office and for me I think I would paint the trim in the wine color (dark blue grape) the walls in the light blue (if you want a lot of blue) and inside of the lower panels on the trim the cream color even though you did not try the cream on the inside of the lower panels I can visualize it there as a nice contrast to the wine color trim. Or paint the inside of the lower panels in the light blue and the cream color for the walls. I see the wine color as a beautiful color for the trim, but that's me. I like the three color theme too it's a large open room with high ceilings so it's doable and would be soothing and comfy given the colors you like the best. The cottage is coming together so nice and the fountain when done will be lovely. Thanks for sharing your Chateau Chronicles adventures!

Go with the Grey and the cornflower. Keep the room at just two colours. You can still achieve that warm moody pallet if you use the grey paint in the cornice area, the inside of the window areas and on the radiators. Don’t over do it with3 colours. I think it will be a nice balance with your dining and kitchen area. As a gardener I think you want the light from your terrace doors to breathe life into your office space. I also think stepping out of the and into the fountain space and court yard you don’t want to step out into the beautiful outdoor space from a dark room. Just my thoughts, 🎨👩‍🎨🖼️

I say use 3 colors (plus not so yellow white for ceiling or use Parma on ceiling and at top areas of walls.) Use combo of Parma, Wine Dark (I say for larger wall surfaces), and find a Deep Eggplant color for trim (darker than the purple you now show on a slim vertical strip color swatch on wall.) Possibly use Parma in squares, or use the Wine Dark in squares and also on walls, with a unique and slightly more colorful motif hand-painted in each square, and a Deep Eggplant color for trim around Wine Dark squares. Then use Parma on areas at top of wall and onto ceiling, like the sky. The paint brand you are using seems to have a wonderful nuance of hues. My favorite here in USA is Pratt & Lambert Paints. Your progress is magical.

Abby, HGTV in the States has a lot of good suggestions on how to keep stink bugs away. With the amount you have you might want a little hand vacuum that has a bag so the bugs don’t stink up your main vacuum. I used peppermint oil and water spray to help keep spiders away, it really helped. Yea, the green and yellow is going away! You are getting so much accomplished.

I also like the wine dark. Personally, I would paint the wainscoting solid wine dark. Carrying the wine dark up the wall would be dramatic. I can also see a lighter color on the walls. Have to go with corn fart strictly because of the nickname!😂😂😂 I am not good at visualizing the end result, so I would need an app or software program to try different schemes. Whatever you decide, it will be awesome.

Hi Annie, love the corlors you are considering. The light blue and the fart white😉 are great and would be erfect with either of thr dark colors you are considering. they will look fantastic with the mural. No more safe whites & lights. Just a thought on the office colours. Since your mural depicts a scene perhaps you take the darker of the lighter blues and use it on the lower portion of the cornice and finish the top portion of the cornice in the lightest shade blue. It will act as the sky in the mural and give the room even more height. The room has such great light the the bottom panels can handle the darker colour you are leaning towards. It will ground the couch as well as it will blend seamlessly in with the darker lower panel. Its to bad the paper you choose is a mural. I once used wallpaper in the panel portions at the bottom like yours and it was quite lovely. I've so been enjoying your journey from the beginning. You are fearless Abbey! ❤

Abby, I love the photo example of the room you showed us, but everything was painted the same color, which is very elegant In my opinion I wouldn’t do the woodwork in two different colors. The walls can be a different color or the same color as the woodwork as in the photo and then choose one wall as your mural wall. With nice artwork on the walls and dark wood furniture and maybe upholstered seating matching the wall color, it will feel very cozy.

Everyone has a different take on the colors for your office I know you will make the selection that you feel is appropriate! I believe there is an app that you can download to help with making the right choice..monochrome or adding wallpaper different trim for the ceiling that way you actually see how the colors will actually look ..so exciting! Looking forward to seeing what you select! The wine dark is really nice! The cornfart 😂I was laughing so funny! The roof looks amazing! The stinkbugs are quite a nuisance! Perhaps get a few diffusers and use peppermint oil ? I believe that was the oil you used inside of the nightstand? Hopefully there some natural oils that will help eliminate them! Just my two cents worth but I'd paint all the woodwork the darker blue. I always find when you paint the internal squares a different colour, especially not a tonal colour it can look a bit like a circus tent. Too many bits and pieces picked out! Your inspo pic is stunning. If in doubt, copy 🤣🤣🤣. I love when you saturate with colour so the whole wall is dark and then maybe do the ceiling in Cornforth White. Have fun.
