"They love their dead animals in France." Ha! I enjoy the road and village scenery you shoot as well as your brocante visits. The cottage reno blows my mind because you know darn well in the United States they'd have torn it down and just slapped up something new in its place.

I love the tapestry! Can't wait to see it on your wall. I did my family tree with MyHeritage and also the DNA test, it's very cool. I am French with most of my family from Central France: Auvergne, Drome, Ardeche... so my DNA came back as mostly Italian and some Iberian, with links to Ireland & the UK, which all makes total sense when you look at celtic heritage and the history of these areas.

I recently discovered my French Canadian Hertiage & my Filles du Roi that I never knew I had. I've always loved Roccoco style. One day I want to make a trip to Paris. Love the Bergere

Just a little tip about shopping in the brocantes or antique shops as we call them in the US. Buy things that you love onsyrad of going with a particular item in mind. But On our last move instead I got things because I LIKED them instead of matchy matchy ,and everywhere I look now I see something that gives me joy😊 . The previous owner could have told you about the annual deluge in the cottage area. Yearly, dear, yearly. That's why the cottage is gonna be a dud in the mud .

Wow, so much getting done! I am happy for you and you look happier with the drain fixed, your room is almost done, Tomaz is fixing them faucets which will be a huge game changer. The cottage roof is started. You got to go brocanting with your friend Vince. You got a few great finds. I did think some of the items that were overpriced, you can get cheaper elsewhere. Some of the brocsntes were an almost put your lives in your hands walking through. Usually at these places people score if they rummage through it all. It wouldn't be me. Best wishes Abby. We just got snow in Surrey, BC. Of course it would snow cause I planted daffodils and tulips. They should be OK though. Back East in Goose Bay, Labrador, they have no snow. Weird winter! I grew up in Labrador all of my life and never saw no snow there at this time of the year. Watch, they will end up with snowmagedden again. Love from Surrey to you and Chloe. Can I suggest you make some sort of map identifying the locations of all the brocantes? Marking them on a map now will make it easier for you to just add new places later. If I were to visit for a workshop, I’d really want to go to the brocantes you’ve shown, and places like those are a dream for vintage/antique sellers. Also, that would be a great idea for a special trip/workshop. Call it Brocantes et la Borie. You can give you visitors maps of all the special places (brocantes and antique shops) in each of the nearby villages. And I love the tapestry you bought. How much did you pay for it?

It would be cool for you lower pool to have a solar fountain in the center of it as an additional water feature/white noise during the summer time once you get it sealed or cloated with a mortar.

I called the strips furring strips looking for some for my ceiling in the basment looking for only a quarter inch strips so can put up bead board on the ceiling! The fellow that painted the outside of my house is going to help me I do gave 7 foot ceiling so it will be a nice cozy room in winter and summer !taking carpet up this week just going to paint the floor for now all other rooms are done with painted floors and carpet in the sewing room may look a for an large area carpet for now the room is 12 by 20 240square foot room nice size and has two new windows that open which is nice for spring and summer ! Love the shopping trips ! NICE to see how inventive Tomas is fixing the water issue! So lucky you find him Abby !Another great video!

White shabby chic Armoire was really neat , but so much to look at in both shops I would try and bargain a bit because surely they need the room .. Abby, the first armoire you saw that had shelves in it you could take out the top 3 shelves and put in a pole across the top to hang your clothes in… plus it was the nicest and the cheapest armoire that you saw that day.
