I am not military. I am a WW2 buff. But this music is beautiful. My mum said her dad listened to up to the day of his demise. (Scotland). I didn't know that. Absolutely beautiful guys.

I am a baby boomer and child of the fifties and sixties. Grew up on rock and roll but in the past twenty years or more have been into jazz of all kinds. Lately I have gained a new love for the swing era and the music of my parents' generation. This is the music of the people who fought and won ww2. I love it.

I want to believe there is an alternate dimension, in a nearby parallel world, where this never left!

Veronica Swift is simply amazing. She could have competed well against any of the top singers from the 40s.

Many years ago, Roy Rogers had celebrated his birthday, and his lovely wife, Dale Evans, gave him a beautiful pair of cowboy boots. The next day Roy went riding out on the range with those beautiful boots on his feet. On the trail, he came across a mountain lion and got into a real tussle with it. Roy came away with only a few scrapes, but the big cat did a bit of a number on his boots. Roy rode home and had to tell Dale of his run-in with the mountain lion and the resulting torn up shoes. Being the loving and considerate wife, she of course put him at ease, telling him that the most important thing is he came home not too badly hurt. A few days later, the two of them went riding together. Off in the distance, Dale spotted a big cat, motioned to Roy and asked, "Pardon me, Roy... Is that the cat who chewed your new shoes?"

RIP Major Glenn Miller USAAF disappeared in December 1944, his remains were never recovered.🇺🇸🛫

Wow Sang this with my friends mom, Janey… ( at the end of the day when we worked together)she was 88 and I was 62… remembered it well from my childhood. Janey went to be with the Lord and I’m driving in the car one day, maybe a month later, and this song comes on. I cried my head off. But now it just brings me joy. I know Janey is in heaven and we will sing it again someday together❤️🙏

I am 51 years old and it was my grandparents who introduced me. And I miss them. And I also just lost my father this year and a few day after my fsthers death was the 8th anniversary of the loss of my mother. So all of my parents are gone now us one of my step-sisters had also past away. So that mean I aldo has a step-mother who was 14 years my dad's senior. And my step sister was onevyear younger than my mom. I even had a step-grandmother And she is also passed away. And she was an opera singer. So I was exposed to all kinds of music. The music of my parents said grandparents day was far better than much of today's music. But have heard a few good songs that were inspired from the past. But yet much of the music of my generation and younger sounded like nothing like music to me is was nothing but noise that gave me nothing but a headache. And drove my younger autistic brother up the wall. To the point that he at times wanted to destroy the medium it was being played on. And it he ever met the musians or the writers of hfat crap he wanted to punch them to let them know what he thought their so-called music. And when real young and he starting to talk dince the first time he could talk was between 4 and 5 and stated walking at 3 on a camping trip up in northern California in the redwood forest. But whst came out of the is mouth shocked everyone bad evil music of the demons and the devil. Can't quite remember how old he was at the time but was real young. Out of the mouths of babes and toddlers. Andvour young special needs children who are aware of things that so-called normal children and adults are not. And he used to cry when he heard things he didn't like and that scared him.
