Me: hmm, I should probably do that homework that's due tomorrow Emma: *uploads a video of her interviewing Cassandra Clare* Me: lol who cares about grades anyway *watches the video*
listening to an author talk about writing is so helpful and amazing for people like me who want to be writers. And throwing in my favorite youtuber makes it even better!!!!
When Emma mentions Ash and says "I hope we're right!" And Cassie goes "You probably are!" Did Cassandra Clare just confirm that Ash is Sebastian's kid?'
Oh my god a showdowhunter musical need to happen! I can just imagine Jace singing really angrily but dancing like a girl like Troy does for Bet On It in High School Musical 2! 😂
Giiirrrllll you so lucky! I hated muting the interview for Lord of Shadows spoilers but I heard it's the most heartbreaking cliffhanger ever and slowed down my reading to put it off a few extra weeks lol
I love both of you so much! I love the way Cassie talks about her characters and her stories as if they're being unfolded before her. Like if she (in a way) is being told these stories by the characters instead of her being in control of them.
I'm going to be like 95 by the time all the Shadowhunter Chronicles are out, but I will read them anyways. Great interview, Emma!! Nosy question: did you get the feeling that Cassie's not a fan of the Shadowhunter books? She was super smiley when you mentioned the movie and then shut down when you talked about the series and only lit up again at the mention of the musical.
I swear after I finished Lord of Shadows, I threw my book down and started sobbing, once I calmed down, I realzied we have to wait two years for QOAD and then I started to die again. This interview was amazing Emma! Can't wait the more to come!
I think my favourite part of this is how you can't stop smiling. You can tell that you're stoked about being there and I think your enthusiasm helps to bring the interview to life. I bet Cassie did a couple of dozen interviews that day and only really remembered yours ;D Great job!
I just finished my first Cassandra Clare book today (Clockwork Angel) I read it over 4 days while on vacation (so super minimal reading time except for today, but I had barely anything left to read when I picked it up today). I LOVED IT and I can't wait to read the rest of TDA and then TMI and DA. I kind of look at it as one huge series because I purchased Clockwork Angel a couple years ago before my senior year of high school. Senior year was a frenzy and so most of my reading went to school reads then I forgot to take it with me to my university and basically rediscovered it this summer thanks to you, Emma so THANK YOU.
Great interview! I was so excited to read Lord of Shadows, but with all the talk of it being devastating I've been pushing it further down in my tbr pile. Maybe September....summer just seems like the wrong time to be sad!
I enjoyed this video so much! Now I really wanna read Lord of Shadows but I can't cause I haven't even bought it 😩😩 But Cassie seems so awesome! You're so lucky to have had the chance to talk to her on so many ocassions 🙌🙌
Lord of shadows left me heartbroken. I love all Cassie's books, (SPOILER) but those last 4 pages were too much :( and where are Jem and Tessa? I miss them! Thanks Emma :D
I don't know if it's the name but Emma you remind me so much of Emma Carstairs! Like the way she would dress and talk and be excited about things and just idk but you with blonde hair would be my Emma Carstairs
I can't wait to start these books! But first, before I become completely engrossed in the series (I know I will), I have to finish my summer tbr. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, and A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Marin. Plus, Me Before You by Jojo Moyes and Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman, what I'm currently reading. I have to stop watching videos about books I want to read and actually read them lol
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS Personally I didn't like lord of shadows so much and I simply for the life of me don't get why people's obsessed with it, definitely liked some of her other books so much more. But it was so fun watching this!!
Omg! Cassie is such a cinnamon roll just like you, Emma! 😍😭 Btw, I can totally imagine a TID musical and I'm afraid I will cherish this wish with me until it comes true xD
if you search "crackpot theories isabelle lightwood" you'll find her video! before COHF, xtine basically theorized that isabelle was not related to her parents and she has a string of evidence as to why she thought so!
I've always loved your videos Emma, they're great, but I really would of appreciated a spolier picture in the corner for when you said there was a death at the end of los. It changed my reading experience entirely since I spent a lot more of the book pondering who it was. There wasn't a shocking reveal for me in the end; this made it less impactful of a scene for me unfortunately :(.
