Makarov type pistols are well made and very underestimated. also they are super reliable and usually cheap. i have a p-64 it is fun to shoot and makes a good carry option in a pinch. the double-action trigger is a BEAR but the thing is accurate and a blast to shoot. only bummer is magazines are hard to find.

Thanks for this video. I own both the Polish P-64 and the Czech VZ-82 (CZ-82). Both are excellent firearms. One problem I have encountered with the VZ-82 is that the new magazines being sold for it, made by CZ, as suitable for BOTH the CZ-82 ans CZ-83 do NOT function well in the actual VZ-82. I have encountered repeated FTFs with these magazines, while the original mag that came with the gun functions perfectly. I have worked on the problem mags, grinding down the front of the feed area and this has solved the problem, but these magazines should not have this problem. I have also written CZ about the problem, but have not heard back from them. I have also encountered problems with mags for the P-64. There are two styles, one old style, one new style. The old style will function fine in all P-64s, but the new style will only work in new style P-64s. Again, grinding the feed area to match the older style magazine feed area solves the problem. This, however is due to the changes to the gun itself, and is not due to faulty quality control, or engineering oversight.

Nice informative video thank you . Can I ask for your help to find a suitable shoulder holster for my Russian Makarov that is chambered in 380? It is double stack magazine 13 round . I was looking for a gun from the well known brands that have the same measurements as the Makarov so that its holster will fit my Makarov. I thought of Glock 42 or 26 or Bersa 45? Any ideas?
