The only reason to adjust a drop leg holster below your hip joint is to clear a low hanging jacket or tactical vest. If you're not wearing anything that gets in the way, short and the strap until gun sits at your hip. If it's hanging too low it won't be comfortable walking or running.
I have three of these "burrito" holsters (they fold up like a burrito) and cist about $25 ,at this army surplus store. It fits my pistols with a light attachment without paying $200 for a custom made holster. I don't use them for outdoors because they are fairly cheap and not that durable. They work just fine for storing a pistol in the drawer or gun safe to keep it from being scratched or dinged. If I'm going outdoors or actually carrying a pistol, I have good quality kydex or leather or leather/kydex combination holsters tbat are much better. They're cheap and they work for storage.
Learn how to properly adjust our thumb-break...the snap goes behind the top of the pistol, so when you push your thumb down to grip the weapon, it 'breaks'. NOT on top of the rear of the slide!
