THANKS SHAWN...you have given me an idea now. Since I am an Amateur Radio operator I have connectors and such laying around. I have an MP3 player and I do have some speakers...possibly all I need to get is the amplifier. I love these videos. I know this is a 9 month old video, but it is great. TWO THUMBS UP!!
If you don't want the mp3 player to get wet you could place it in a small tupperware container. Drill a hole in the side for your cable, and seal around the cable with glue, epoxy or caulk. It was very interesting watching my dogs react to the calls at the varmital web site.
Thanks for the video, just built me one, total cost of $17 and sounds awesome. I haven't even turned it up half way and this sucker is LOUD. gonna run it up on some yotes (and maybe some crows too) this weekend.
I just took my craftsman construction radio with rechargable lithium batteries and hooked the MP3 to it with all the calls. Just google coyote calls, rabbit distress calls, whatever and load them on the mp3 player it works great!
Hello and thanks so much for the video, i was thinking of uploading sounds on my cell phone or some kind of recorder, now i can use my gfs old mp3 player haha. I'm new to coyote hunting and want a sequence i can play and sit back and watch. Thanks alot .
I think I'll make one and add a model air plane remote and put the receivor with servo that open and closes the speaker circuit. Remotes can work up to 400 yds! Thanks for the video
hey man great vid.. you should look at picking up a cheap tackle box again maybe from the dollar store or something and cutting a hole in the bottom for the speaker. and it will provide more protection and you can even camo it, and then put everything inside.
Hey TheModsled! Thanks for watching. I THINK you can wire the two wires together (RED AND WHITE) and then use the black one for ground. I'm not sure about using stereo cable, haven't been in that situation yet. Let us know if that works in case someone else has the same issue. What kind of speaker did you use? Shawn/TEAM WETSA
CA fish and game. Legal here. Answer: Electronic calls (specifically authorized) and mechanically-moving rabbit decoys (not prohibited) may be used to take coyotes (California Code of Regulations Title 14, section 475).
oh yeah the construction radio is waterproof already ..the craftsman radio is very cheap..and it it has weather channel and radio for camp use...I just use the mp3 plug in for the e calls
This is an OK way to get a cheapo caller but the Radio shack amp tends to distort your calls just as they are loud enough to do any good. So if you are serious just save up and get a dedicated caller. They make a world of difference.
I got the 10watt bullhorn from harborfrieght. I opened it up cut out the mic, wired in a female headphone jack, and covered it in mossy oak duct tape. It sounds pretty good but I have yet to actually use it.
Hey Chandler. If it works, you did it right. Kinda trial and error. Hard to tell on some wiring which is positive and which is negative. Let me know if I can help with anything else. THANKS FOR WATCHIN!
So you know you can buy a water proof rechargeable Sony Bluetooth speaker for 25$ right about the size if a baseball. I put it inside my turkey decoy for turkey hunting my quiver critter for predators I hide it away from box stand for deer hunting. Its loud with good sound. Primos hunting calls app for calls or I'll go on RU-vid and record actual critters doing their calls. Get a real hen turkey looking to breed or whatever app. But the speaker is nice for 25$ and the Bluetooth range is all if 50 feet probably more like 75' -100' done deal
if you have an android phone there are also a few free apps that have calls ( Predator calls, hunting calls and coyote hunting calls.) if you don't have an mp3 player. cant speak for I phones, don't know anything about 'em.
So im sitting outside crow calling in right in the middle of the call my mp3 player just freezes... i tried turning it off and it wont go off... tryed pluggin into the computer didnt work... cant take the battery out cause i cant get to it any suggestions?
