The Oceanwide Plaza in Los Angeles is poised to become the graffiti tribute of 2024! There's something dystopian about an abandoned billion-dollar project being overtaken by hundreds of graffiti artists, transforming it into urban art. This structure has inspired numerous modellers. Witnessing my friends craft their urban structures, I felt compelled to model my interpretation of this iconic building. Opting for affordable model kits from Outland Models, priced at around $25, I fashioned a three-sided structure and a two-dimensional background. I adorned it with 60 different variants of graffiti pieces, drawing inspiration from the actual artists at Oceanwide Plaza. While this project demanded considerable time and effort, with countless colours applied through dozens of stencils to replicate the unscaled buildings in the video, it proved to be a rewarding endeavour. I'm genuinely pleased with the outcome of this creative exercise.
