I have a grape arbor made from 4x4 posts. I use velcro to attach my solar panel to the top of the posts, so they get full sun most of the day. Of course I have the panels with a long cord. By using velcro they stay securely but I can easily take them down for the winter.

Oh my gosh. Little did I know when I saw my first of your suggested trial and error advice videos would I become addicted to your insightful and significant methods. Everything I've watched for the past month has always answered nagging questions that have popped up in over 65 years of gardening - long before the sharing of vital experienced information was available just a finger tap away. This is an exciting year for me as I'm actually doing a life do-over. I've been around the sun over 83 times now, and have always believed in a natural, green, and organic way of living free from chemicals. 50 years at this location alone, so it's pristine and healthy. You and Gary seem to be benefiting immensely by divorcing from the chemical and pesticide addiction and tightly grasping your new found health and a joyfull way of life providing not only yourselves with clean healthy food, but for all the birds, bees, butterflies, and countless other critters in your wildlife habitat. So again, I thank you both for sharing your insights and experimentation. Testing over years and knowing what works and what doesn't and the whys you've learned by doing. This video just answered today's puzzle of where to pace those solar panels. 👍 Now I and all your other viewers are reaping your benefits as well. I share all I can with those who understand and appreciate as I do, what you and Gary have accomplished. Creatures you haven't heard mentioned are amphibians- frogs and toads. I've always had several residents but this year an explosion of them here, literally hundreds. I have difficulty not stepping on them at night. They're everywhere on my two acres. So besides the bird fountains and baths, I now have just today put out shallow toadie trays of water all around with rocks and sticks so all can get out - lots of lizards too❣️And tell Gary 🙏 as I'm getting the kiddie pools to grow something in as he demonstrated and to provide more diversified habitat for them. Wow Robbie, once again perfect timing. Lately, I've put out extra solar fountains and have been fussing with where to put the panels. I love this idea. Now, I just hope my dollar stores carry this style. If not, I know what to look for. (just did a web search at Dollar Tree and they carry this exact one for $1.25.) Thanks Robbie, another great tip.

that’s a great idea and should be very sturdy especially when using 2 of them. I usually have my solar panel slanted up against a rock, the grass or a pot.

Great idea, Robbie! Love it! So simple to make too. 😊 You know what? Since I started watching your videos, Dollar Tree has become my new favorite store.😂 I also wanted to share that with the solar pump kit I ordered from Amazon, it comes with a little 5" stake to put in a flower pot or just in the ground, but one day I wondered if the holder on the back of the panel would hold a tomato stake. I was nicely surprised that the tomato stake fit in the holder. Yeah! I also made little shade covers for my fountains using 4 tomato stakes and I cut up a plastic sunflower table cloth from Dollar Tree and clipped it to the stakes like a little tarp cover. Here is the name of the solar pump I found if anyone is interested. Biling Solar Fountain for Bird Bath, Solar Panel Kit Outdoor Solar Water Pump with 4ft Tubing for Hummingbird Bath. Its a pretty nice one and I liked that it came with tubing which I can use with other projects as well. It was $15.99 at the time of this comment. I forsee several of us going to dollar tree lol. That's a brilliant idea! Robbie, I found a praying mantis on one of my hummingbird feeders. Knowing they are one of hummingbirds predators, I was trying to get it off the feeder, and it jumped on my finger. Talk about screaming and slinging my hand around, I was freaking out lol. I know they can't hurt me, but I could feel it's legs wrapped around my finger, and it didn't want to let go. It would have made a very funny video 😅😅😅. All my husband could do was laugh at me lol. ❤😊😊❤

I put my solar panels on tall PVC pipes, you can stick the ground stake inside the PVC pipe. This year I started using pipe insulation to cover the wire and attach it to the PVC pipe. I am thinking it will protect the wire from our brutal Arizona sun. Depending on your property, the higher the solar collectors the more energy they collect. I buy pumps with lights and backup batteries that way I can enjoy the fountains at night. I use painters tape to cover the wires, so I don’t accidentally cut the wires when trimming plants.

We found a great modular 3D printed fountain online. It's hexagonal, we use a little pump with a solar panel, and all the panels around the side have little stands. It is truly the only way that my Anna's will share.😂 We tried a couple different configurations, and they won't. Depending on which pedestal to stand on, they can stand in the fountain, or far enough out to comfortably drink

You get a lot more birds in Southern California mostly because it’s warmer and close to open area and nearer Mexico. I live in a city so I can get a few birds. Your so lucky. I love all your crafts and tell others about them. For I’d take photos and use apps like Merlin. It’s not 100% and not good on amateur birds. One new bird you saw was a young Junco.

Great idea Robbie and perfect timing! I just moved my fountain and the old food container set up has fallen apart. I spent the day moving my solar panel around to catch the sun and telling myself I need to get the panel on a pole again lol! Lucky for me we have a new Dollar Tree right in my own town! I have used the top half of a Walmart blue cheese or ranch salad dressing and cut it right where it starts to flange out and glued the top to the backside of the solar panel using. E6000 and this way I only have to stick it on top of a steak somewhere. Short steaks, long steaks, it doesn't matter.

I have chain link fences, which is close to small bird bath. The solar panels will probably fit nicely on fence with lots of sun.

Robbie, would those towel holders hot glue to a large dish to make the bath part then wire it to my chain link fence and put another next to it to hold the solar part?

What brand green painters tape do you use? Can you provide info?

Robbie builds a solar fountain...hummingbirds and other birds FLOCK to it. Me...builds 2 different solar fountains...Hummingbirds avoid it...other birds not interested...lol
