I think Red is one of first original fan-game characters in undertale, and it was so well made, Toby fox hired the creator to help work on undertale! (Also if you make another, try PATIENCE, it’s basically an actually playable version of the color maze!😊)
The underverse game is based off of a REALLY FREAKING GOOD fan animation by the same name. I do agree with the whole "being expected to know the characters already" thing, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
I could disagree. Hearing every same word being a dialogue box gets annoying and having several sans’s ignoring everything else about AU’s make it bad.
@Glockengoldseyes I get that feeling, but it's meant to be about the characters the Fandom created, most of which are sans. It would be cool to see more unique stuff but that's not really what it's for. I guess I just never noticed the dialogue thing.
@@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa4545 I wouldn’t say it’s the shows problem, it’s the fandoms problem of having a addiction on a skeleton that only appears 1/2 of the game. They only know sans because of his single fucking line of “don’t tell the other sans’s okay?” Which is suppose to reference the other sans’s after frisk died, not timelines. + the whole fandom just neglected since they are the first one to actually talk about alternate timelines and universes. When the underverse started I was in a lot of confusion, first I do not understand error’s deal with ink, error said something like “I will stop killing AU’s if you uhm uhhhm uhm uhm uhm mmhhuh uhmmm stop making AU’s ROFL lol” and ink agreed, The whole idea of ink being emotionless and being this horrifying creature is stupid as hell in my opinion, just because ink doesn’t feel emotions without capsules is stupid as ink never felt feelings since ink has no soul, using capsules witch never got confirmed by the creator to be used by ink wouldn’t really change his emotions at all. Its also stupid that XGaster is the “creator” First of all in undertale Gaster is just some dude who appears in a grey room and these 5 people tell about how good he was, it wouldn’t make any sense for x gaster to be a god of a timeline as WE DONT KNOW IF THAT DUDE IS EVEN GASTER, he is called mystery man and we don’t know if redacted or mystery man is gaster. Ofcourse Xchara was fused with sans because “oh they have a rivalry!” In undertale chara never met sans as chara only has lived in the ruins. At a save point in snowDin you see “that comedian..” it is suppose to be snowDrake, if you flee or spare snowDrake it says “snowDrake ran, genocide aborted.” Something like that. Fatal error who is coming soon shouldn’t be “evil” his whole mission is to take code of papyrus’s from timelines or universes to create his brother again. There should not be a difference between UV and the original AU (like UV!underSwap sans or UV!fell.) Tl;dr They focus on animation more than actual sense.
Wow, would you look at that! "Can You Escape Love"! You know, the devs of that game created a sequel called "Can You Escape Fate", taking place in the year of the monkey. The sequal contains more battles, 6 acts (though one is just a "cutscene"), an option to kill lost spirits you meet for a different ending (and nothing else), and better graphics. I think there was also a game for the year of the rooster... but to this day is incomplete.
Underverse Battles is actually based off of the animated Underatle AU series, Underverse. (duh). That's why the game expects you to know more about the characters. It just summarizes the story
The Underverse fangame is based on the really good UNDERVERSE animations of Jael Peñaloza. They're definitely worth checking out if you're an Undertale fan. P.S. If you ever decide to cover Undertale stuff again, you should check out some of the games made in Unitale/Create Your Frisk or try Scratch Undertale fangames like you did with some other series (surprisingly, there actually are a couple of really good Undertale/Deltarune Scratch fangames).
Yup, a really good game on it that I play more than I should is called something like"Disbelief Papyrus Multiplayer" I can't remember the name but it's a 10/10 game
9:21 It's a character from a fangame (what a surprise I know) but what's more interesting is that Toby Fox himself liked the game and hired the guy who made it to work on deltarune
These fangames and rip-offs are genuinely good, but there are some that attempts to be one... and the UT (and its AU) community is truly interesting. I do remember playing "Can you escape love", and I had a terrible time finishing it LMAO The heavily amount of obscurity about Red is insane 😭 (Red is created by Taxiderby made back in the 2015, and the creator of Red is now working for Deltarune 😎👍)
Actually there is going to be a new deltarune chapter recently in this year i have no idea when it's actually going to happen i just don't work on it i just really wanted to be a good 3rd chapter
@@DeathByAnvil thats actually a pretty bad way of looking at things. have you even looked at fangames like the joy of creation (fnaf fan game) or how about sonic gt or sonic after the sequel. Most fangames are made without monetization in mind.
@@darkcrow3350 two mediocre fan games based off games with two horrible fan bases, how fitting for a bad argument, if I play a game based off a game, and it’s worse, it’s a ripoff, in both cases they could’ve made it entirely different, but they knew they would gain more traction if it was based off a popular series, like a leech.
@@DeathByAnvil oh cool and for what gain does the traction give them ,temporary fame for the years spent developing a single game, financial gain which is defs not if you saw the sonic omens drama. Most of the popular fan games are projects that are developed for years. Got to ask you one thing. Why are they spending years on a project if all they are trying to earn is popularity. Oh and sonic over the sequel dev went on to make his own franchise called spark the eletric jester. If you want to try that for size there it is a dev deciding to do his own thing after creating some fan games. And the dev made a great game series that got coverage all on its own.
Those are called "fangames", also underverse battles is a game made for underverse animated series. So creator of the game expects u to play this game after watching underverse.
Omega flowey: "I'm the most disturbing thing in the series!" Spamton neo: "No I am!" "Amateurs" Omega flowey: "Who said that?!" Undertale mobile games: "Amateurs"
I remember playing Can You Escape Love as well as all of the other games the developer made. I was quite young, maybe 10 or so, and I remember genuinely believing that these were actual undertale games made by Toby Fox. It was quite the experience
Most feel like fan-games than rip offs and feels disrespectful to call them that Edit: I’m glad you do clarify their fangames and do give them some respect at the end, but again it feels rude to put them in a “Rip-Offs” vid as it gives the impression of them not made in love and being bad esp since you mentioned how you did have to reach for these games and it comes of as desperate. Still appreciate the effort, just doesn’t feel right
*Fangame Hierarchy (Highest to Lowest)* - Licensed Game (example: touhou) - Fan Recreation (example: mario) - Fangame - Rip-Offs (example: undertale from scratch) - Bootlegs (example: felix the het)
I was a huge fan of the can you escape series and I was super bummed when I found out its devs basically went dark on the games When I was younger I would like Mass produce way too many fanarts of the games especially can you escape fate that one was pretty good-ish and I got pretty attached to like Most of the characters The best way i can describe can you escape love fate and heartbreak Is simple somewhat janky though a fun completion of oneshots of a game series with characters though a little rough have a charm to them The ones I dont really like are the flowey wannabes I hope one day someone with my passion and nostalgia for them could step up and completely revamp these games and completly fix all of the issues like the weird assets and the confusing gameplay and maybe even some parts of the story and actually add onto the unfinished mess that heartbreak is We'd definitely get a solid game/games out of this series tbhhhh If that doesnt happen when I become an adult and eventually be financially be able to build up a team I'll definitely atleast try to do somethinf about the lost potential of all of this
Also sorry if there's any typos or weirdly put together grammar in this I'm like super tired rn but still just wanted to put out a few words for my favorite fun scrambled point and clicker baby mode bullet hells
I'd recommend checking out Can You Escape Fate?. It's the most complete of the 3 games in the Can You Escape ____? series IMO, and it's honestly just as good as Undertale (coming from someone who's put 270+ hours into Undertale), but much more accessible due to it being free. There's a third game too called Can You Escape Heartbreak?, but I've yet to play it, and I've heard it's not quite finished and most likely never will be. Still, good video! Bringing to light passion projects on a game you're passionate about can almost never go wrong, and this video encapsulates exactly what I'm looking for in this style of video. Overall, I can't really say anything that's bad about this video. Keep it up!
9:21 red is a fan-made character is from a fan game who got really damn popular and the Creator actually got hired to work on deltarune and I'm assuming the reason why there is two fan games of red there is because of the multiple endings one is very much harder than the other
Can you escape love & Can you escape fate were actually pretty clever, I remember playing em both back in like 2016? I think, but , I think they’re great for undertale fangames :)
3:45 Honestly I can defend this, with examples. 1: Sans literally asks you if you should save if you go the entire Neutral route without saving. 2: In Hotline Miami, the name for the main character, Jacket, was not official. It was a fan name based on his iconic letterman jacket, and the developers decided to make the name canon.
I love Bonetale it’s a fun game but i can see why it can be considered a rip-off. Kinda Also yes i do realize he didn’t talk about but it was in the beginning part lmao
2:59 I think it's to add both types of dodging, the kind the enemy uses (Sans just slides to the side and his dodge turn is instantly over) and frisk's (you have to do the whole bullet hell thing), if you guess right you can Sans dodge, otherwise you have to Frisk dodge.
Seriously, even back then multiverse was a thing? I'm starting to really hate fandoms(as if mlp and transformers' decline wasn't bad enough already)! Just feel free to share all your agreements folks.
they're not as bad as they used to be, the Undertale fandom was and used to be an absolute trainwreck regarding Ships, the way you played the game and if you accidentally killed a character they liked
red is a fan made creation/game that was extremely popular and came out in like 2016 making it pretty early on, the creator later on ended up working for deltarune. underverse is a popular fan made animated series that is still being worked on aboout undertale aus and stuff, cross/x sans/xchara is made by the same person and is featured in said series.
Im actually happy that you had a good time with these fan games especially because i used to play them in 2018 (the two last one)and actually enjoy them, if you want to, you can also try bonetale which is also a good one.
I dont know how people find omega flowey normal but it's fucking horrifying Just by the looks of it, seems like it broke the rule of the game's theme by having realistic textures on it's designs plus the faces
13:30 hate to be that guy but, this is a sequel and probably the best out of the three games the creator has made, not only is "Freddy Fazbear" in the second one, but Monika from "Doki Doki Literature Club" is in the third game
Back in 2016-2018, i installed "Escape The Room". I started playing it, and when i died, my game crashed. At first, everything looked fine, but when i opened gallery, There were THOUSANDS of creepy images and textures. That was scary as hell. Was this a hacked version or what? I haven't seen anyone having things like that. (Sorry for my bad english)
Yeah him complaining about these clearly being made by fans for fans is so stupid. No shit it’ll expect you to know at least some stuff about the underverse as it is about a huge fan community
The first one is literally just a fan game of the first episode of underverse, which is on RU-vid if anyone is interested. The episodes are well made and well animated
13:51 Can You Escape Fate is a similar style but more expanded; enemies are more unique but it also is a bit more reminiscent of Undertale; even having pacifist AND a genocide route. ... it's just better.
DUDE AT MY SCHOOL BACK IN THE DAY EVERYONE AT RECESS AND DAYCARE HAD CAN YOU ESCAPE LOVE AND WE WOULD ALL TRY TO BEAT IT IT WAS SO FUN GOD THAT GAVE ME SO MUCH NOSTALGIA
Can you escape love actually has two more games in it called can you escape fate and can you escape hatred? I have not played any of these games yet, but the third one has a familiar face in it not gonna say anymore they’re all free
Me when I play a fangame about the battles in an animated thing about the undertale multiverse and it doesn't make sense when I haven't played undertale in 2 years 😱
5:19 wait, really? I don't think I died on him on my pacifist run. Got real close, sure, but I think I never died. Def not skilled enough to no-hit though.
I'm surprised you didn't play Bonetale, it's a game where you play as sans, papyrus, undyne etc... And you try to kill Frisk/Chara (And it's pretty hard)
Red is supposedly a fallen human in the royal guard, having a certain relationship with the Guardians, while Cross.. Isn't referencing cross sans. It references Cross Chara, who was forced to team up with sans after their timeline was on edge and effectively shattered, leaving some of sans' memories wiped. Sans had no choice but to team with Cross Chara, who has OVERWRITE. The fandom's supposedly (almost) strongest attack ever existing, able to 1 shot K.O MOST SANS' (or chara's if they were put in a battle between another chara.) Ink sans is a guardian of the AU's, in a place called the "Doodle Sphere." Which is because it's a giant floating orb dimension that's yellow and has paper attached to white strings where Ink Sans doodles the au's on the papers, their traits, basically, he MADE (most of) the sans', and in his fanmade boss fight, he uses them against you, while also fighting alongside them. Each turn has a hint for the next sans, which is really cool imo! Error sans, is ink sans' enemy, and the destroyer of AU's. He only does this because he can scan if there is a glitch in a world, and when he enters the world, he see's a glitch is there (Being him) so he destroys everything in hopes of finding it. He also occasionally strings up the sans' with lethal red or blue wires, and then renders them useless, and under his control. Like ink sans, but a lot more force full. Some people even say he does it on purpose. Bonus!: King Multiverse; He's the one that owns ink sans, and puts him to work occasionally to make more au's. I don't know if he does this cuz he want's an army. Anyway, as his name suggests, he is also the king of the multiverses', and can rain down a bunch of neon black or neon white chains from the sky that attach to the ground, and I mean BIG chains. If someone touches one they cannot move, having been 'chained' to the ground, and he can just, use a ton of blasters. He also has the ability to summon a version of error and ink that obey him, whilst not fighting each other instead. And lastly, he also is able to make anyone (although only been used on chara's yet,) have all of the default items and stats, and can reset their position to when they first fought, although his stats go back up to normal, in case he lost a few dodges. Although he can't use the ability for so long, especially when Error 404, Error 666 and Error B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y come in! (Google those last 3 guys if you wanted!)
9:22 Back in the day there was this at the time pretty innovative fangame called Vs Red. they... well they had a fight... to be honest as in depth as I was with this fandom I don't know either...
