@@Dollop_of_MayoI'm from India and I can get a 25kg (55lbs) sack of rice for 1000 rupees ($12) so these prices are just absurd for me but ofc avg wage is many times lower than LA. Chicken is 275 rupees ($3.2) for one kg (2.2lbs)
@@shophocho7798 Dude even Ralphs chicken not on sale day(Thursday) you can get a whole chicken for maybe 10 bucks or so. I think a meal with 2 pieces of chicken and 2 sides is like 8 bucks. $34or so gets you all you can eat sushi for lunch at the Sushi Jin in NOHO.
@@shophocho7798 You should check out the restaurant in Chino Hills called sonic speed Cafe! I know it’s gimmicky but the food was actually really good 👍
@jaydenleckpa8381 I think one of them said that line during a salt bae burger or steak shorts. Or was it Trump Tower shorts? But I'm pretty sure that line was there.
Why? If you're friends then you're friends regardless of how much he or she makes. My friend is super rich and drives an Audi R8. He also has like 6 other cars besides that one but we're still friends. We were friends before he started his own business and hit it big and he now employs over 600 employees in 3 different states. I'm pretty sure if he wanted to shop at Erewhon then I'm not going to say anything and I'm definitely not going to refuse to be his friend.
@@saysoun752I got friends who would want to meet up every weekend. I'm making the bank but I'm saving it up while they're from old money parents. I honestly don't wanna hang out with people who think others should follow their lifestyle, even if they could. It's just wasteful
For $20, you could go to Aldi’s, buy a family pack of chicken, bag of rice, and bag of sweet potatoes enough to eat that same exact meal for the WHOLE week 😂
1lb cooked Thai Jasmine Rice: 1.25$ (based on the 25 lb. package's pricing, but the 100-lb sack will usually be even cheaper) 1lb rotisserie chicken from Costco: 1.67$ (from the avg 3-lb rotisserie chicken) 1lb. sweet potato: .99$ Total cost of a 3 lb. non-optimal chicken meal from Costco and an asian grocery: 3.91$ in California. You could probably cut down the costs even further if you buy in bulk or commercial quantities / cook the chicken yourself / buy on a seasonal sale.
Someone should call the cops, what a damn rip off. I would have seen the prices and left as fast as I could and NOT gone back. When they say the CHEAREST is 36.00, oh hell no. Nice review you are lucky to live where there is so much variety.
Even the hot bar at whole foods is usually bland. I would know because I work there .The decent food they had is the pizza. They actually charge you if you fill a small cup with ranch
I was just living in Vietnam for half a year, and I feel like I could buy this exact meal for about 34k at the Lotte Mart. (Which is a bit more expensive than street food prices) 34k = $1.50 USD
