At the end you had a guy fly past you. You may have been pressing it and boom, down you go! Appreciate the video. It seemed like you could have used a bit more top speed in some sections? Great race and love your channel.

Looks like you went 21/18 with the new wheels. What tires are you running and is that what you typically run for these races? From looking through your race videos, I see a pretty good mix of hard and soft on the different tracks. Thanks!

An o'ring chain once it warms up is very close to the resistance of an non o'ring chain. I'm using a X'ring chain with a 54 tooth rear. Non o'ring chain stretch a lot and have to re adjust + it wears out you sprocket faster.

Why wouldn’t it? You’re reducing the top speed but in turn your motor puts in less effort to make more torque. Should definitely help the range
@garbageman3992

Iv been saying that e dirtbikes need a transmission for a long time now and this test proves my ideas. bldc motors and almost all electric motors make terrible low end power and low end efficiency, FAR lower than any gas motor, its terrible for all the components by several time higher than high speed riding. but this also proves the idea that these quick e bikes are destroying themselves in the process of being quick. im a hobbyist electrcal engineer with tons of experience with this stuff and I refuse ot get a crappy e bike that is going ot be insanely unreliable and only suited for one style of riding. those gas bikes will last a while before needing work and their work is simple. an e bike needs what is essentially half of the bikes price in repair costs every year or two with hard riding styles to maintain performance. electric is not the future and anybody knowledgable about the topic knows this. EDIT: you also lost on the holeshot to some 85 two strokes that started with their engines turned off. even with your bike being unreliable it is not even quick.
@Tazdeviloo7
@Tazdeviloo7 5 месяцев назад
You have a lot to learn as an engineer. There's a drive belt reduction pulley that puts the motor in a good rpm range and avoids what you're talking about.It has plenty of rpm range for a dirtbike. The Ultra Bee is about 95% efficient. Gas bikes are about 20% efficient, where do you think all that waste heat comes from. This is a trail bike. You can double the power easily with an aftermarket controller or just buy an electric race bike with 80HP out of the box, the Stark Varg. There's drastically less maintenance on electric dirtbikes vs their gas counterparts. By now, he'd have to replace the top end on a 2 stroke
@garbageman3992
@garbageman3992 5 месяцев назад
@@Tazdeviloo7 well im assuming you arent an engineer considering what you said was completely false. most of it anyways. it doesnt matter what gear reduction unit you have, the motor on those things needs to make good power from litterally like 20 rpm to 10,000 rpm. it needs a transmission ot change gear ratios for best operation just like a gas bike, although it needs far less gears since a bldc motors best operation range is naturally far wider than a gas motors, 3 gears is probably best. a sur ron is definetly not 95 percent efficient, even at their peak efficiency that is a stretch especially with mods they drop down to as low as 70ish percent at their peak (rough estimate but derived form surface area and airflow for heat dissipation at 80 degrees celcius which is the max temp before thermal cutback). AND they can go as low as 5 percent depending on riding speed. full throttle at speeds less than 20 kmh range from 5 percent efficient to 40 percent efficient, the lower the speed the lower the efficiency due to the heat loss rule (p=I^2 R). yes gas bikes are bad, most of the energy goes to heat but they are designed to run at high temps. electronics do not like high temps and batteries have very little energy so waste heat is a big deal for ev's. I have learned a lot about esc operation and battery tech since that comment. the batteries on these are surprisingly good and th esc's are a lot better then I expected but overall sur rons are not merely as good as advertised. they have many problems and break down so often when riding hard at ow speeds due to insane heat loss, high motor torque, and esc failiure due to the insane current draw for small moments.

@@garbageman3992 Firstly, I 100% agree that these bikes need a tranny and especially a clutch. However, I have an Ultra bee and I don't experience what you are claiming. Not sure if you are an actual rider but gas bikes breaking are as common as the sun setting. I never once had an issue with my emoto and I run it hard continuously at high speeds through sand and hard pack. The motor has never been hot enough that I can't touch it. If anything about E-motos/bikes are false advertising is the range, hands down. These companies are lying through their teeth about the distance they are capable of experiencing. I think you're comment is the outcome of the "real world/lab dilemma". Just buy a bike and see for yourself how unnecessary your math is when it comes to having fun on a bike.

@@garbageman3992 with all the TQ at down low i would at least have a low / high gear, My Zero FX 7.2 gets 90 mile range on flat >30mph, going 65 and passing at 80 range goes to 45 miles. But "engineers" will blow about their efficiencies, also needs a clutch to go over enduro obstacles IMO, Software TC is not up to snuff. CHEERS!
@garbageman3992
@garbageman3992 4 месяца назад
@@just_one_opinion yeah going faster has a far lower total range and thats because the bike is putting far mor epower down continuously, and mor epower per mile because of wind resistance. but when you think about it only getting half the range at like 5x the power output (high speed riding) really proves the point. if the motor ran as efficiently as it did at 65 then you would not get 90 miles of range, you would get 160 miles of range. plus with a small transmission you actually wouldn't need a clutch at all which benefits the bike in a couple ways. cluches on e bikes are hard since the torque from a bldc motor is far greater than torque from a gas motor so the clutch needs to be far stiffer and tougher. with a few gears you can avoid the clutch altogether. thats what i think at least

Are you using the standard suspension? What kind of setup does the Ultra Bee have? If it's stock, does it feel as stiff as the original fork on the Light Bee? I recently upgraded my son's Light Bee with the FastAce 2.0 and a 60lbs spring, and it's now incredibly smooth. I'm thinking of buying an Ultra this week, but I'm worried about the stock fork being as rigid as the Light Bee's was originally, and how it compares performance-wise. Is there a significant difference in power from low-end torque up to around 40mph?
@electricisbetter
@electricisbetter 5 месяцев назад
I still run stock. It runs KKE for the suspension. Of course there is always upgrades to be had, but I think the suspension on the Ultra Bee is incredible out of the box.
@Andrewlvna
@Andrewlvna 4 месяца назад
I bottom out occasionally on my stock Ultra bee suspension, fortunately the front shock is adjustable and you can just upgrade the spring in the rear for under $50 bucks. makes a world of difference if you're not gonna ride slow enduro rocky trails.
