Such a risky concept made for an amazing video. Things clicked later on in the video, but I was disturbed after a few seconds. Somehow rambled this video to 18+ minutes, things like that can happen on such an emotional first impression. All credits and love go to James and his dad. Amazing suggestion, hope you’ll can appreciate the honesty and rambling haha Much love Jesse

Always appreciate honest reactions, and this one was lovely. James sang this in one take, and it was the first time his dad (sat next to him) heard it. Producers wanted to autotune it, but James was adamant that they left it raw. Just beautiful. And it has had a happy ending. James's dad recieved a kidney after this was released and is reportedly doing well now. You should check out his 'No Bravery' . The video uses live clips from his time in the army, and is just as emotional. Top man, James, and severely underrated.

30 to 40 seconds into this song people who react start to fold. You can see their face go. I they struggle

James dad was actually dying from kidney disease & this was his tribute & farewell to his dad. Thankfully his dad received a donor kidney & is doing okay now. If this song doesn't get to you emotionally, there is something wrong with you. This song resonates with me as I was my dad's caregiver for 5 years until he passed away 3 years ago.

This wasn't an act, Jesse! This was real raw emotion when he thought his dad was about to die. They couldn't find a match for his dad to have a kidney transplant! This video helped find a donor which was a distant relative also named "Blunt" & his dad is still alive as far as I know! Great reaction! Most male reactors have broken down & cried. Many have had to leave their chair & gain their composure before they finished their reaction! I've cried every time I've watched it!😢

Looked it up after the recording yeah. Super rough, happy they eventually found a match. This is an amazing performance

@@JesseReacts Thank you for your reply, Jesse! Yes, it was tough for both James & his dad! Also, they were both officers in the British Army so I'm sure it was difficult for them to express their feelings for each other! I'm glad this video helped them finally find a match! His producers wanted to edit out his "voice cracking" but James wouldn't agree! He wanted it left like he sang it!😊

They said the only dry eyes in the studio were Charles Blount. He asked why is everyone crying; I'm still here. James refused any autotune as he wanted the emotions to come thru. Thank God a cousin named Charles Blount came thru with a kidney. Interestingly,his dad himself had been a kidney donor.

How do you think your pitch would be when you're crying and singing a farewell tribute to your father with him sitting next to you. This was shot in 1 take, btw.
@ntracefan
@ntracefan 2 года назад
This was the first time his Dad heard the song. James’s Dad was dying from stage 4 kidney disease. He only had one kidney as he had donated one years ago. A match could not be found at the time this video was made. A distant cousin came forward after seeing the video and after being tested was a match and donated a kidney to James’s dad and is doing well now. James and his dad are both military and their feelings are not always easy to express. James did a wonderful job in this tribute to his father. Great reaction

It's a killer, it's real, shot in one take, all the filming crew were crying. I cry every time, it's life we all go through it. Don't ever forget to hug even when you argue. Most sad song I have ever watched bar none. People whenever you have a row with those you love remember this song

Authentic reaction. I cannot tell you how many of these reaction videos I've watched on this particular song, probably 70 or more and I've only come across ONE that someone did not cry....ONE. It's from the heart. If you're at all human, it will radiate to you also. I have noticed that when it comes to men watching it they seem to stop it at the parts that are the toughest and I think it's to kind of regroup themselves from stopping the tears of emotion.....it doesn't work though, at least not from what I've seen. BUT nothing is wrong with showing you have a heart. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THAT. ❤
@JesseReacts
@JesseReacts 2 года назад
As soon as the chorus hit it was over for sure… if i knew what was coming the tears would have been instant. No contest here though haha balling out at every extreme home make over as-well 😆 don’t find it troubling what so ever to show it. Like that you felt the authenticity, thank you!

James is losing his daddy, whom he loves very much. He wrote this song, because talking about pain is pretty rare amongst decorated soldiers. ACTING is not one of his worries. His voice is cracky because HE IS CRYING. Geez!

Such a raw and beautiful song. The pitchieness and quivers are what makes it so authentic. Producers wanted to use auto tune to fix it but James refused. Glad he did! I have seen this 30 times and it still gets me!

Tjis was a great reaction. An honest one. I absolutely love this song. I cry every single time I hear it. The video breaks me. I'm post-transplant myself. And it was incredibly hard on my two young Sons. They were terrified! My youngest was 8 and my oldest was 11 years old. And this broke my heart.more than having to have life saving surgery. I prayed before surgery that I be able to live long enough to see them grown. Into good young Men. They are grown. I'm shockingly still here. Minus 5 & 1/2 organs.😆 Buy. Still here. 75% people who have my surgery are dead in 4 years. God is Good!

As you've read, his father was dying here, and really no hope. They'd tried every avenue with no success. James adored his father so the tears are real. All the proceeds from this song James gave to veteran charities in the UK....

Why don't the folk that critique these songs do a bit of background research first
@JesseReacts
@JesseReacts 2 года назад
It's a first time reaction. Me, personally, i am approaching these songs like i normally would. It is a "single/song" which doesn't have the luxury of any context to the public. I can't amazing you experiencing new music differently. The video was amazing and emotional, the song was great. Seeing the clip and hearing the song triggered me to get the backstory. It's simply not the other way around in my book.
@ravenmasters2467

@@JesseReacts i would imagine that most people would agree with you on this Jesse. You have to go in 'blind' and not knowing what to expect. Its reaction mainly, rather than 'critique'. No disrespect intended to Mr Scott but on this i believe with that opinion you are severely outnumbered.
