Great prices compared to Canada. Is that considered a good price in the US?

Hi Tom, Have you tried KJP Hardwoods in Ottawa for your lumber? Awesome selection!

Hello, yes I purchase my wood between the Woodsource in Manotick and KJP. I find the quality of selection at the Woodsource better than KJP. This is primarily due to KJP’s pallets of raw wood being picked through for the best pieces by customers. I do find that KJP has more exotic selection though and I love the fact that you can purchase tools as well.

How did you get the lighter and darker look out of the same boards?

That’s a great question, I wondered the same. Maybe it’s from alternating the pieces giving it a different angle for lighting would be my guess.

You gotta find a hardwood distributor. They sell to dealers etc. they will let anyone set up account just tell them your a business. I set mine up so I just have a card on file with them instead of setting up credit with them: Instead of paying 8 bd ft for maple I pay 1.80. Not a typo cherry is the same. Even exotics are about 5 dollars cheaper. Walnut is about 15 though I find that cheaper creatively through private mills. Awesome board! Hope the information helps.

Dewalt 735 and I love it. I would have raised the grain after 180 grit. Then 220...but you know that.

I was looking at the Dewalt 735 as it has great reviews. I went with the Craftex because it was on sale and it looked identical to the Rikon. I love the thickness stop block. Thanks for sharing!

I need to make a 18x24 end grain, min 2'' thick for a customer and checked the price pbf a couple hours ago. Rock Maple 8/4 is $6 US. And that's CA.
