Aaron thanks for the acknowledgment. I enjoyed every minute building your engine. Everyone in the Performance Build Center puts a lot of pride in our builds and hope you get many great miles out of your LT1!!
If you know a Gary Oakman, send him my thanks. One of his engines is now in my 2021 SS Camaro, and has already impressed me and my Dyno shop in its stock config. It has had the highest output the shop had seen in a stock 6th Gen by a decent margin. It runs amazing, I could always tell something about the engine just felt better. Now I know why. Thank you all for what you do!
My 17' SS 6 speed is approaching 48k miles. I bang gears hard on occaission and keep my oil clean, runs faster than new. R Hodge how many mile can I expect out of this bad ass machine?😁
Great video. I went to School with Robert (Bobby) Hodge from 1st grade up to 12th grade. Robert has to be one of the nicest and most honest guys I have ever known. Bobby, if you're reading this, well done, sir!
My understanding is that it’s only manuals that got this hand built plaque and since 1le’s were all manuals till 2021 they all had them till recently. Basically automatics who are afraid of a third pedal got a little less horsepower.
@Sychoeasy7, thanks for the comment. I do know that there have been some individuals commenting here that also have new 2022 1LEs also with the build plaque.
My SS non-1LE has the badge from Bowling Green. It actually makes sense why the engine seemed to dyno much higher than every other stock camaro, about 15-20 more than anything he had seen. Just that personal love and attention.
That makes no sense "extra love and attention" if that's the case then QC standards need to be revamped across the board for GM How would that equate to more power ?
@Christian Ramirez, your welcome and that is awesome you have the badge too! You are the first LT1 package that I have heard of with the performance badge. In the Camaro6 forum there is also a Latrice Carothers that built LT1 engines too. I wonder is Andrea and Latrice are sisters🤔😂
@@AverageHero I love my new Camaro, she only has a little over 300 miles so I'm still breaking her in and haven't gone above 3000 rpms but I am very much looking forward to actually seeing what she has got. She also has magnetic ride and a factory strut tower brace so I'm sure she will handle well as well. I'm thinking about a new cat back exhaust. What do you think, and what one would you use not to be too loud to bother my neighbors?
@@MasterCarguy44-pk2dq order was placed in October of 22 and was delivered to dealer in February. Was rolled out the factory late November/early December. Took about 2 months to be delivered to the local dealership.
My 2020 LT1 M6 has the PBC badge. It was built Jan 2020. It seems like most or all M6 cars (LT1, SS, 1LE or not) are candidates for PBC engines. I've not seen pics of any automatic cars with PBC plaques yet.
@Jason Hoggatt, thanks for the comment. Yeah, I’m wondering when these badged LT1s that were intended for C7s will “run out” though. Typically Camaro LT1s aren’t built in the Bowling Green Assembly Plant. There was one person who commented a couple weeks ago that stated they had the badge on their A10 but that was the first one I’d heard of.
Well YeeHaw! I just bought a 2021 LT1 in mid-October with the 6M, the only way to go IMHO. Much to my surprise, mine has the badge too. Thank you Chase Duvall... two thumbs up! 👍👍 😁
I have a 2022 Camaro LT1 with a manual transmission. My LT1 engine was built at the Performance Build Center by Brandon Centers. Thank You Brandon Centers for building a fantastic engine.
I wanted a 1ss 1 Le. With the tremic 6 speed . Started the order process in 2022. 1ss 1LE cars were on constraint. The middle 0f 2022 production. So it switched over to 2023 order process. 1ss orders were still on constraint. So changed to a 2 ss to get the car. They picked up the order and built it. All of this was when the dealer had allocation to get the car built, So if your dealer does not have allocation from GM your car will not get built, And if certain options are on constraint your car will not be built, even if the dealer has allocation, Peace love the car , you don.t need the 2ss extra crap. You do need the 1LE package , It is a steal for what you get for the price,
Just got my 2023 2ss iLe , I ordered it in 2022 . It does have the tremec 6 speed manual trans. My LT1 does have the engine plaque . From the GM Performance Build Center in Bowling Green Ky . Thank you , April Gregory for building such a nice engine. It is so smooth and tight, Such a fun car to drive ,
Very cool. Looking at the comments, it's wild to see how many different names are on these badges. I wasn't expecting to see so many different names. I thought there would be more of the same names
@@AverageHero are you able to supply a link? I think it would be cool for the people here and folks like me that's reading these names to be able to put a face to the name.
@Johnny Turbo, in the forum www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=579447 there are only pictures of other Camaro owners engine performance badges with the names of the builders. Didn’t see any pictures of the GM employees themselves. But yes, that would be cool. My builder saw this video and actually commented!!
this is the coolest shiiiii i have seen, the fact that they have these on cars, and even more the fact that there was a single dude hodge that was responsible for the build is awesome. and then the fact that hodge literally replied its mind blowing. WAY TOO COOL! THANKS CHEVY!!!
So, if we have the plate, would we be able to replace the Camaro plastic covers with Corvette covers since the engine was made for a Corvette, without feeling like posers? 😂
@infidel6687, thanks for the comment. Glad you got one! Love my 2SS! No one around me has a 1LE so I always get looks from everyone especially Dodge and Ford owners. 😉👍🏻
@phlyphishsmith Congrats, glad you got your order in before the silicon chip shortage that has shut down the Camaro and select Cadillac assembly lines.
@@AverageHero my 2SS 1LE manual arrived this past weekend. I checked for the Bowling Green badge and yes it does have it. Jennifer Montgomery built my engine at Bowling Green Performance Center. Thanks for sharing this great info, I wouldn't have known to look. My car is that much more special to me now.
@phlyphishsmith I am thinking about ordering a 1le instead of finding one on the market. How was the process for you? Do you wish you had just looked for one instead of ordering?
Thanks for the information man I'm telling you what I'm 70 years old and I'm still stoked, It's not out of the Realm but I might be able to pull it off to get a used Camaro, Before I got old and divorced I had several hot rods hot rods one being A 1963 Split window co-op Corvette, I managed to hang on to it till I got divorced, Shit happens, Have a good one ,peace out🙂
@Terry Andrews, thanks for the comment. A ‘63 split window….whaaaaat!! Now that was a ‘vette! Just saw a silver one here in Palm Springs yesterday on a flat bed being transported. 😁👍🏻
@@Raven77844 yeah, we know they're basically the same. What I wonder though, are all the LT1 engines hand-built? Or only the ones intended for Corvettes?
I am sure all are assembled the same way. The Bowling Green assembly plant has long been the assembly plant for the Corvette and still is. Corvettes have always had a lot of “personal” touches like having a dash plaque that shows the car was specifically built for you with your name engraved as well. So it is no surprise that they would plaque the engine and possibly other parts with who assembled them.
@@erickdj2009 only Corvette since there is a premium to pay for that car. Its probably due to tradition. I would trust a machine made engine over hand built. Humans make mistakes. Machines dont.
Just to keep this discussion going….I got a 2022 2SS convertible, manual in November of 2021. It has the plaque. Built by Vickie Thompson. I think that’s pretty cool👍
@@AverageHero i gave it a shot ..put that on my 2019 and call it a rare find ..worth thousands someday lol my motor is fast as shit ..1SS 2019 gray I've been waiting to put 1LE ground effects and rear tires is all i want on mine oh and a stance of no tire gap .
@Joe Bob, Sweet! Red accents, I love it! I ask because I still haven’t heard of anyone owning the wild cherry tint coat yet. Hope you love yours as much as I do. Stomp em if you got em!😉👍🏻
