Its Door if you translate that as social identity, being a goth or emo counts. and ive been called many a homophobic slur for that. hell most ppl just assume im gay when they meet me. straight white male priveledge 38/100
That quiz is insulting. "You are privileged." I live in a basement with my sister, and gone to jail. Yeah sooo privileged. So many questions not asked.
***** I'm going to tick everything and see how it ends up. My web browser is nearly crashing, Buzzfeed I going to give my laptop ass cancer. I clicked everything and got 100/100. That's a rather lazy survey.
+Trollingunicorn3 || Shadow because asu clicked yes on everything, it asked questions like "are you this are you that" and yes meant privilege each time, questions not specific enough like "lying about sexuality" could you just sarcastically say youre gay and itd count and it would say youre oppressed. the questions arent good enough
One of the questions was ‘I have frequent flyer miles’ which I do have..... because I have to fly to New York frequently to see a special doctor because I have a rare disease, aren’t I so lucky! I love being so privileged ☺️✌🏼✨
Yes, but if a person works for a living they have to pay an amount still. Which if you are barely making money to survive is shit. If you don't work, then you get it free. Makes sense...
+Rika Furude Technically privilege is an unearned (in this case social) benefit, such as being born wealthy or someone translating their product to your language. But I'm pretty sure "not being raped" is a *right* in the first world....
+Lost Earthling Considering theres an Australian man( julian Assange) whos hiding in a London Embassy wanted for rape in sweeden im going to have to agree with you
The sad thing is that I get the same non privileged points for my parents not being alive as privilege points for ‘always had cable television’ I mean that doesnt really make up for it
Hey well you might have been an orphan and you might have lost the two most important people in your life but you know what that’s fine because cable television makes up for all of the pain and turmoil
Matthew Mendens "I have good news and bad news, bad news is that your parents died in a horrible accident, but the good news is that you have cable television!"
@@myjjv1203 or the entire premise of this quiz is faulty. Not to mention that almost every one of the questions make a lot of assumptions. For example, being white. Sure in the USA being white isn't a negative, but I live in Hawaii, and here being white doesn't really get you any benefits either. I know people that complain about the racism against white people here, but I don't think it's nearly that bad. Sure I've been passed over for a job because they gave it to a "local" (even though I've lived here full time for almost a decade and part-time since 2000, and I have had various relatives live here and have visited since I was a baby) and I have been called haole in a derogatory fashion, but I don't really feel oppressed or that it's held me back. It's just that there damn sure ain't no privilege to being white here, and that's just fine by me.
i got harrased for my gender. i sexually indentify as a attack helicopter. and some-one who sexually identifies at a military jet called me a slow fuck
June, let’s be clear You do make more money than your professional counterparts (assuming you make money on these vids) because you make more than any dude yelling into a 480p camera
I've literally checked all the mental health boxes including the suicide attempt one and the test told me my life has been easier than most. That's a bleak-ass world we live in, I suppose.
"51 you're privileged" I can't get a job because of my physical & mental disabilities & have to be a parasite to the people I love because my years of violent epileptic seizures unfortunately never killed me.
+Nicolas Messier (Lord T. Bagginton) Would you like me to insult you based on your identity? It might help to change your feelings about your score. Let me know:)
'I have never been the only person of my race in a room.' The fact that i live alone makes me often be the only person of [insert anything that applies to me] i a room. Heck, currently, i'm the only person that's capable of breathing in this room...
+Raezeman maybe i should go live in japan or korea so I'm the only white guy in a room most of the time and i can rake in those oppressionbux to win facile arguments
I got 20. Damn what have been doing with my life? Instead actually working really hard to make my life better I've should've been on Tumblr complaining instead.
+FLAMINGBABYPUNCH I am a heterosexual white male from one of the richest countries of earth. I am healthy and hold a doctorate. Scored 45/100. Buzzfeed, you better fine-tune your ideological indoctrination...
Yeah. Straight, white, and Male were one of the few things I had that counted as "privelage" in this test. I scored 27 but had I not identified as those 3 things I likely would have scored in the teens.
@@skrrtdotcom9120 Because people aren't being killed for being straight. They don't have to come out to their families, get disowned, or thrown out to the streets because they are straight. They get to comfortably display affection to their partners in public, etc. I don't believe in a lot of things having privilege but being straight definitely has its advantages, that's undeniable.
I just took it and it said I was a bit more privileged than most people... I’m sixteen and have had a surgery for an infection that only occurs in 0.0006% of the US population (pilonidal cyst) and some of my own friends (now fake friends) in school laughed about me when I was at home recovering...... Sooo much privilege.....
it's always funny that no one has ever called me privileged, and that's probably because I look Mexican. when in reality, I'm both Mexican and Italian. I find it ironic that feminists love to shame "white people" as if they're all the same, when there's been cases of slavery and discrimination (as she's mentioned in the video). if anything, it's showed me that feminists like to generalize people to the color of their skin, not even trying to understand what they are really. it all debunks the idea of white privilege, doesn't it?
mimothememe I guess, I would think people never called u privileged cus they just don't think about it or care to say anything. I doubt u looking Mexican or Italian (both kind of look the same, which is redundant and ya I've seen Italian people from actual Italy) and I live in an almost all Mexican population, so I mean ya they look nearly identical, but anyways, if ur looks matter, it may be because u don't look Mexican or Italian. I'm Mexican, apparently I look like a Middle Eastern man, even tho I'm like a light caramel color.
Wait... Doesn't that mean THEY are the real racists? I don't know why we still learn history when we still do the same mistakes over and over despite learning them. Seems pointless at this point.
White, Ace/Unsure, in 8th grade, living in a pandemic, literally has no friends, has bad anxiety, insomnia, night terrors and intrusive thoughts, Struggled with gender before realizing I’m a girl (cis), Has Middle Class parents, has family members I’m scared to be around cuz they homophobic, Has no self confidence, Nearsighted AF, and is literally terrified to disobey her parents in anyway I am very privileged indeed
Dom Zaio Well, actually, it’s probably not a 50/50 chance because most people are straight, so it’d be much easier for a bi person to find a partner of the opposite sex. Still, that doesn’t make it impossible, I’m a bi girl and I have a wonderful girlfriend.
@@domz6867 Not really. Though, there are two types, so to speak, of being bisexual. There's people who are physically attracted to both genders, which is pretty much the main definition of bisexuality. And then there are people like me, who were attracted to the person, and their gender/physical appearance didn't factor into it at all. I ultimately fell in love with and married a man and now have a 13 year old daughter, but if my husband had been female, I would have still been attracted to the person, and likely ended up with that female, because while I am lucky as hell that my husband is smoking hot (at least in my opinion), that isn't what drew me to him at all. In fact, we were platonic BFFs for over a decade with absolutely ZERO sparks before we ever got together. We were both with other people, and it just never occurred to us to think of each other in terms of prospective partners.
I got a 30. Not privileged. But they are missing a few statements, such as the privilege of not worrying about starting a fight just by looking at a Man, not worrying about being labelled creepy by looking at a female, not worrying about being thought of as a pedophile for being alone around children, not worrying about being falsely accused of rape by staring at someone, and so on.
The biggest problem with this quiz is that they confused "privilege" with "discrimination/harassment". The most blatant case probably is the sexual violence thing. Folks who have been harassed/grabbed/raped are not restricted from anything because of it??
Imagine being told that you have privilege because you graduated high school. It isn't hard to graduate high school if you actually show up and do your homework.
Well some people HAVE to drop out cause they need to work to support their family so it’s a LITTLE bit of a privilege to graduate high school, but like the white and male questions are bullshit
Not defending this questionnaire in any form however I almost didn't graduate do to complications in a lower back surgery, that i literally missed 65% of my whole high school.
@@jesseregalski1664 not being insensitive, but that was more of an unlucky phase, not a lack of privilege. People who don't have to endure that arent really '' privileged''
@@maz6046 but it was something out of my control just like how you can't control who your parents are or what your situation is, which would make them similar. right, idk I'm not well read in this issue however that is my personal opinion
@@jesseregalski1664 I can see point, but what I meant was that privilege is more dependent on the position you are born in ( the money you have, your color or religion etc) and not what happens to you
I know I'm 4 years late but I just recent discovered your channel and have been binging your content. So I took the quiz and got 28-100 and was told i wasn't privileged. Who could have ever guessed me a straight white male you could have scored so low LOL this was fun.
I've been called overweight by a physician, though I am not fat. Probably because muscle mass is much more heavy than fat. Not fit, not fat either. I'm decently athletic tho.
I got a 61/100 "You're quite privileged. You've had a few struggles, but overall your life has been far easier than most. This is not a bad thing, nor is it something to be ashamed of. But you should be aware of your advantages and work to help others who don't have them. Thank you for checking your privilege." I supposed that's pretty accurate.
13M 57/100 "You're quite privileged. You've had a few struggles, but overall your life has been far easier than most. This is not a bad thing, nor is it something to be ashamed of. But you should be aware of your advantages and work to help others who don't have them. Thank you for checking your privilege."
I received a 38 out of 100. According to buzzfeed I'm "Not privileged", but I don't feel "not privileged" I feel the same like everyone else. Life isn't that fair why complain about it and make it your identity? Great video I really loved it!
Of course : Asians do not any trouble, work hard, make money, … Your merit is a horrible privilege. You do not know how you are privileged for having respect of white people. XD
i can tell you as a 6ft male hockey player i also feel paranoid when i walk down a dark street by myself, even during the day i check behind me. so its not only females that feel/do that.
I think according to this quiz you have to be a homeless gay black woman of an oppressed religion to not be "quite privileged", you only fit 2/5 of the requirements based on the info you have given
The result said that I'm "quite privileged" and that "my life has been far easier than most". I don't understand why, I'm a latina, a woman and a lesbian, I've got all the minority tokens!
Well, I've got 42 out of 100 and got "You're not privileged at all", while I'm white heterosexual male living in EU. I agree, I am not privileged at all, but person who wrote that crap would not be so happy about this result :)
I Shyper Yeah, I personally find myself quite privileged, considering I'm middle class, I go to a private school and I never had to worry about not having money. I guess that the only downside is that I live in a developing country and here the economy is pretty bad, but apart from that I agree that my life has been easier than most.
An abled bodied, mentally healthy latina lesbian with a billion dollars and who grew up with wealthy parents would be privileged. Being a minority in a few areas doesn't mean you have no privilege.
There are so many questions that really don’t apply to me. A lot about religion, I am atheist, a lot about education and bills, I am 15, some about holiday and going abroad, I live in Europa and I pretty much live in two/three different countries.
My only issue about clicking this link is I don't want to give Buzzfeed any money from advertising at all. I don't want to be blamed for spreading cancer around. I'll get an adblock real quick and report back when I'm done.
I am a white male and I got 40/100: "You're not privileged at all. You grew up with an intersectional, complicated identity, and life never let you forget it. You've had your fair share of struggles, and you've worked hard to overcome them. We do not live in an ideal world and you had to learn that the hard way. It is not your responsibility to educate those with more advantages than you, but if you decide you want to, go ahead and send them this quiz. Hopefully it will help." Well... it's half right.
1:11 "I have never been the only person of my race in the room" the only people that this is true for are people who were literally just born and have never been anywhere alone
I was the only white person in my PE class all throughout Jr. High. Then again, I live on the North side of Edmonton... Okay yeah that doesn't count I guess.
Michael Farník I'm Hispanic, and went to summer camp in a very white town. So yes, I was once the only one. I don't want to sound like an SJW, but they did definitely treat me a bit unfair because of it.
I got a 50 and it still said quite privileged. Oh well. I accept it. Gladly. I think id rather be quite privileged than "likely to suffer much more" or "completely sheltered from the world". No one puts stock into these anyway lol
Uh yea I think that guy jimmy does he makes them out of candle's and "explosive bubble gum" not sure they are very safe though. but for 10$ you should be fine.
I got a 56... I love how being agnostic or atheistic is not considered. Not that I would care, it's Buzz Feed after all, but still, for a quiz that was created to be "taken seriously" it's a bit exclusive. Besides, as someone who's just graduated, the whole job-related bits were a bit off. But what did I expect. I already wasted much more time on this than anyone should've. Love your vids😉
Whenever anyone tells me to check my privilege, I tell them "Thank you for reminding me, I need to get it renewed!" They usually reply with something like "That's not funny, this is real!" To which I usually reply, you better be careful not to make me mad or I'll use my white privilege to disappear you.
