Demyr Nox there aren’t hate crimes, there is no crime in hating someone, the crime is simply in taking an illegal action against a person or property. The whole “hate crime” deal is a hoax for those who want a protected status free from criticism. Even the black trans women who were murdered example that Shoe gives is simply a double homicide. Assigning it a special status because of the sexuality of the persons victimized gives ammo to white supremacy advocates.

Rolf Schöpe I understand the motive argument you are making, but law enforcement’s job or the prosecution should not be to determine what a person thinks. Policing thoughts is not the job of law enforcement, nor should the severity of the punishment be increased due to perceived motive. Besides accidental or purposeful criminal activity no other motives should be considered. If we educated students on the law, instead of education of cultural and ethnic differences. We would have less crime and less perceived differences between people.

We have always criminalized motives, someone who snaps due to a stressor and kills a dude gets less time then a guy who goes out and meticulously plans the murder of someone. Someone who plans to bomb a place is a criminal because he is motivated to try and bomb somewhere.

I feel the worst part about his is because of this trash lying, a judge signed 50+ search warrants against innocent people trying to find evidence of the attack. Cops aren't known for putting things back where they found them so 50+ people had cops come to their homes, trash the place looking for evidence that didn't exist then had to clean up the mess the cops made. They should all get together and sue Smollett for all their emotional distress and clean up. The judge that signed the warrants should also be removed from the bench.

As a result of determining this, what evidence do you suppose police submitted to the judge, allowing the application, granting and execution, of so many search warrants in such a timeframe, indicating possible links to 50+ people, of a crime which never occurred? Legal procedure doesn’t exist just to slow things down and ordinarily, it isn’t optional.

Too much detail in one place and a totally vague basic explanation of another piece of the story. Inconsistency in storytelling, even just a little bit is a big sign.

Some people tell crappy recountings of events, other people with minds which are detail oriented, are maybe on the spectrum, or just fucking pay attention to the world around them, may give VERY detailed accounts of even traumatic experiences, but being super detailed about somethings and then being very sparse with details in other areas is a pretty strong indicator that the person may be trying to establish credibility by looking honest and precise when actually lying to your face. That's still a maybe though, not a given, you have to investigate to prove them true or false.

They do this because each time they do it, they're also reciting the story they told before- it's basically a sign of the brain trying to keep it's story straight, which is suspicious since most people telling the truth don't need to try so hard.

Actually people tend to remember traumatic events in vivid detail. Now I’m not an expert, but from what I understand traumatic memories are easier to remember because of how emotions play a large role in which memories are given priority, or something like that. Again I’m not an expert, just wanted to let you know, if you’d like to know more I suggest you do your own research. P.S. Just to be clear I am in no way defending Jussie.

I have done my research and, in interrogations, they're looking for overly detailed description of supposed trauma without pauses, their breathing, tone, and their insistence that they're are a victim. In psychology a victim who is telling the truth will give detail, but be abrupt and await a question suggesting elaboration whereas a dishonest victims will tend to give as much detail as possible to make it seems as though they couldn't possibly be lying because of how much detail they give. It's a classic verbal tell. I've watched hundreds of interrogations and interviews and all the liars tell their story the same way

You are indeed correct my dear, when you are taught Army interrogation techniques, you are told to watch out for over detailing. Liars often over detail their explanations, this is done for a couple of reasons, #1 they equate their exaggerated story with appearing truthful, and #2, it gives them a chance to fill the awkward silences with something. Holding awkward silences when interviewing someone is a good measure. An honest person will not think twice about a 20 second silence, but a person being dishonest will attempt to fill any significant void to. Jussie displays many of these traits!
