You can buy just the switches now here: www.ebay.com/i... Thanks to Razer for sending these out. Much better than the initial batches! Twitter: entsgg Switch spreadsheet: ents.win/switches My site: ents.win Music: Streambeats - LoFi
Thanks a lot for this! I know this is ancient but I'm adding this if others stumble here in the future: Raesha is the OEM for Razer's, LK, TTC, Lamzu, Pulsar and more. Razer/Raesha/LK switches are interchangeable. But Razer V3 opticals is a custom Raesha switch design that isn't available separately, and is known for being better than the generic ones.

Hi Ents, is there a silent hot swappable one for this mouse? Have seen some vids that we can change switches to silent ones but they are 2 pin solder, can you advise?
Yea, but at this point it shouldn't be a problem but I think razer will still try to make it better i think they don't have to. As long as it doesn't feel like I'm digging in sand when I click my mouse, im good.
Hi!.. I've been using Razer Viper Mini for a year and mine comes with V2 Optical Switch. I also did buy another one which comes in V1 Optical Switch just to compare them. Since newer Razer mouse now that comes with V3 Optical Switch, I hope you can make a video about it.
Hi i just stambled on your video here. It's so helpful and detail although i have a question, what are the side switches they used here? im i wanted to change my side switches
Any idea if these are swappable into lamzu thorn? I love it but I need to try lighter clicks as I need it for moba's. I know both are optical but unsure if they're universable swappable. Any recommendations for light opticals would be massively appreciated!
I have a feeling I'm asking a somewhat unholy question here... but can these optical switches be silenced? For 'Normal' mechanical switches, it is possible to add a piece of tape (or two) to the click plate and then get the sound dampened. It might just be me, but why they went and made their switch louder is beyond what I can ever understand... I want silence..... So if impossible to dampen them, then I need to look for different mouse options :D
For normal mechanical switches the sound is when the two pieces of metal connect, making an electrical contact. Putting tape there would damping the sound but you would no longer be able to click on anything as nothing would happen lol
@@retroman7331 A mechanical switch makes the click when the metal plate is down, so you can easily add tape on top to silence the return click. As a bonus, I actually took the chance, bought a Razer Viper Ultimate and silenced the optical switches, and they are so much more quiet now. Even quieter than my Logitech G403.
@@juliansadowski1989 I opened the switch and added a sliver of tape. Similar to the 3M Micropore. This dampened the clicks, and the mouse is still going strong - and silent! :)
@@sexymajesco "Razer. Optical. Mouse. Switches." they are fully modular optical mouse switch and are solder free on any Razer Mouse devices that has optical switches on it meaning they are hotswappable. Not only everyone has the same double clicking issues for itself plus you can buy some on the aftermarket if that supports it.
Do you have a measurement of their operational force? I've been loving the RVM so far even after 1 year of use, but the clicks I really hate and how light they are. So after knowing they have updated "v2" switches on the newer batches, I'm torn between getting a new RVM or another mouse perhaps the EGG XM1r and probably mod them to kailh 4.0's since I want to see if I would like heavy switches. I honestly feel like the RVM is a good mouse but a missed opportunity, could've been more popular if it has another variant which uses mechanical switches instead of optical. There are no aftermarket optical switches available for swapping, that's all.
Any chance of buying this mouse, pulling the switches out, and swapping them into my double clicking naga trinity? I’m thinking about buying the Naga X but I want the swappable side plate, optical switches, and wired connection all in one.
@@entsfps Ah. These are double clicking mechanical switches. Disappointing but I will have to look into the wireless Naga or the Naga X. Thanks for the quick reply.
⚠️⚠️⚠️YOU CAN NOT BUY THESE BY THEMSELVES! The cheapest way to get these is to buy a Viper Mini when they are on sale for $20 and yank them out of the VM.
how can i know if my deathadder v2 has v2 switches? i bough it from local store so i dont know if its the new model. Can i check it somehow without opeining it?
But don't get worried about unpeeling the sticker because of the warranty, modding your mouse in any way voids the warranty anyway so you may as well take off the sticker to open it. Some people actually get upset and don't want to take off the sticker but they want to mod their mouse, they don't understand how it actually works. I know you probably already know this but just in case, I got ur back ;)
@@blujayplays1 I wasn't planning to mod, I was looking for a way so see if rvm I was planning had v1 or v2 switches, in the end I didn't buy cuz there are better options
The switches in the link have pins to solder, the ones in the video snap on. Are the switches you linked optical switches? Can they be modded to the viper mini? I love the mouse but the clicks feel so bad...
precisely. if you don't care much or want the razer mouse shape or don't want to deal w double clicks, it's worth it. if you are a switch feel junkie, it's gonna be hard to match an optical to mechanical switch feel wise
ok so question. Is it possible to take the optical switches and intergrade them into a mouse of a different brand? I've been looking to customize my mouse for a bit and i have heard that these switches are good. The mouse I am moding is the mad catz rat 6
@@entsfps so on ur tweet it says puting mechanical ones in an optical mouse. I looking for the reverse of that. Also what makes an optical switch not replaceable with mechanical ones? :D
Idk why i buy the razer viper 69 gram and i got silent switch not silent but its really quiet and feels so good might i just lucky got the switch like this😎
I hate the razer clicks... way too clicky and stiff. and you can't even solder in anything you want. Razer tries to be special but fucks it up once again
