Detergents were made better back in the day. My favorite was bold detergent one of the best. my mom bought cheer detergent when i was a kid

She was great in The Gathering with Ed Asner and it's sequel as well as playing an alcoholic nurse in M*A*S*H.

I'm guessing the ad agencies discovered the public was cynical about the "new improved" mantra. People were reacting, "If it's new and improved, what was it before -- old and unimproved?" So they refined that longtime phrase in favor of: it was good before and even better now.

Gail Strickland was a bit of a chameleon, but she could look hot too, like when she was in "One on One" (1977), the episode of "The Rookies" titled "The Voice of Thunder", or the film "The Drowning Pool", etc.

That's all that my mother used, not only when we were growing up in the '70s/'80s, but into the '90s and early 2000s. Then it seemed like it got harder to find. Oh well. America isn't even America anymore in a lot of other ways.
