You showed just how well the SNS kills radiant heat coming from the side and forces a more even convection style cook on the meat, plus how it can be used as the perfect sear zone. David's invention was pure genius and truly is the best accessory ever invented for the Weber Kettle. The one thing I love best about the spin grate is the fact that it is stainless steel and will out last the factory Weber grate by years and years. That alone makes it worth buying in my book. Great color on those burgers and oh man, you had me salivating for a Chicago dog!

Thanks, Rus! I sincerely appreciate you watching! Yes, I tried to show how well this product can improve ones Charcoal game and make it easy as can be. I took my time to use this thing before doing this video. Had it since February and used it a lot. There’s no doubt it is the single best accessory for a Kettle... hands down.

Great video! Based on some viewer comments below, it's funny how some folks feel the need to go out of their way to shoot down other's innovations. The SnS is a great product that makes grilling super simple as you demonstrated. I think its the best accessory you can have for a Weber Kettle. Great video to highlight its use. As for one of the comments regarding the spin grate being a gimmick, that's a crock. Unlike the Weber stock grate, the Spin Grate is heavy duty Stainless, not just nickel-plated steel. It also has a larger hinged opening that allows greater access to the charcoal basket on the SnS. So Kudos to Adrenaline, and to you for demonstrating the Slow 'n Sear.

Thanks, Tom! Agreed on all points. There are a few naysayers out there and what I find most amazing is that none of them own or have even used the Products. That in and of itself is weird to me.

The slow n sear has not only uped my bbq game it has knocked it out of the park! I use this thing for everything! I honestly cook almost every thing on the grill now. It’s also great for baking. Especially casseroles. Just imagine your favorite casserole dish with your favorite smoke wood infused. The possibilities are endless. First thing I tried where scalloped potatoes. Blew my mind.

I have to agree. I bought myself the Slow-n-Sear this spring and have about five cooks on it. It just makes everything so SIMPLE and EASY. I liked it so much, I got their grill grate (mine very old grate was just about toast anyway) and their cast iron griddle/drip pan. That griddle makes some great smash burgers on the Weber. Ribs, salmon, brats, burgers, chicken thighs and wings... everything comes out perfectly and you don't have to babysit the thing. Great video!

You don't have to be a charcoal pro. I think you have natural talent and ability to cook. I really appreciate you taking the time and effort to post your cooking and recipes Mike. I feel lucky to have been introduced to your channel. (I think I got it from Russ Jones Smokey Ribs), if i'm even saying that right... He's great too. Anyway I worked in Chicago for a short time, years ago and loved the food there. I always thought it would be awesome to combine some of the Chicago style with the North East style of cooking I grew up with. Your channel is allowing me to tweak some of my recipes and do that. I have nailed some serious BBQ and outdoor cooking stuff for my family recently. Thanks again!

Looks awesome! I've been wanting to try the slow n sear ever since I first got a kettle, and especially now that I have a Weber. The Weber charcoal basket I have found to be deficient in several areas, but I can see how the SNS would work better. Thanks Mike! I never thought of using my Slow N' Sear that way. I usually use it to smoke. The only negative I found is the space limitation of the kettle. But I will say that I have been able to maintain temps of 230-275deg very well with it. Even in the winter time here in NJ. Once during a Nor' easter, It took a small amount of prep to block some of the 38-42mph winds but seriously no real issues. A few other times in temperatures that were in the mid 30's & 40's.

Nice food. And a good video even with the phantom hot dog bite. And I agree 100% on the SnS - the real gain is convenience. While it's great for low and slow and searing, it brings an ease to everynight cooks. Stir or shake out the ashes from the previous cook, pour in the newly lit charcoal, and cook. The SnS is the best tool to create a convective zone and a sear zone.

I put out a new fab on hot dogs. I call it > The Hot Dog That Went Down So Good its between a taco, hamburger and a hot dog. Easy to make ! Get some franks and boil them in garlic powder and beef seasoning ! hamburger buns, chopped onion, yellow mustard, and some fresh made taco meat. Take the bun place a nice frank on the hamburger bun push down into the bun, then sprinkle chopped onions, on it, then yellow mustard, and sprinkle some taco meat on it. fold it up in a paper towel, and pig out. NO ONE CAN EAT JUST 1 add cheese to it, If you wish ~ what ever YOU WANT ~ I would highly recommend Root Beer to drink YUMMY

Quick question, was the one you ate at the end the less done of the burgers? I know you mentioned you and your daughter done like your burgers done as much as the others. Just asking because I'm trying to figure out a technique for one of my sons, one of my daughters, and my wife's preference for "no pink please." This seems like maybe slow and low for a longer period of time would do that before searing? Thanks for any help! Great Video!

Now that I've been doing burgers all wrong, I guess I'll be them that method; 2 zoned. Don't have a slow n sear. Also, how often do you THOROUGHLY clean your Weber Kettle. I just did mine after a couple of years

Thanks, William! I appreciate you watching. For cleaning it’s EASY! I cover the indirect side with foil at the bottom to catch grease (I also have the Drippin’ Griddle down there but that’s not absolutely necessary). So, I scrape the grates and clean them occasionally and change out the foil, then empty the ash. Literally takes 10 minutes and I’m good as new! That’s another benefit of the Slow N Sear.

What kind of relish is that you used on the hot dog? It's much greener and bright than relish I'm used to seeing. I know you made s classic Chicago dog and I have to say despite being from New York I'm s huge fan if the Chicago dog.

Great video. Simple as it gets. I got my first Weber on Monday the week of Thanksgiving 2018 and did my first cook on Thanksgiving day. On cyber Monday a week to the day later I ordered the SnS and Drip n Griddle pan. It was at my door the next day. The only reason I didn't get the Easy Spin grate was that they're backordered until December 12th. That's up next. I love the product and the people at ABC. I've done four cooks with it now and it lives up to all the claims. I think it has advantages that aren't mentioned by ABC as well. I think it will extend the life of the grill for one and by positioning the charcoal grate perpendicular to the slots on the bottom of the SnS 2.0 it creates a crosshatch pattern that prevents the smaller pieces of charcoal from falling through the grate prematurely. Also I like the idea of the removable water trough on the SnS 2.0 . It is the better mousetrap.

Agreed on all points, Doug! I can honestly say that having the SnS has made me feel more comfortable with my Kettle. We use it a lot more now than ever before. I don’t foresee myself using the kettle for any cooks without the SnS. It just makes it so easy and relaxing. Thanks for watching and for the thoughtful comment. Cheers!

@@EverydayBBQ .. I totally agree. While I'm not new to grilling I am new to the Weber kettle and I too don't see myself using it without the SnS. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice looking burgers mike, I always look forward to your very informative videos ..I am new and just got a 26 weber,and assuming you make your own hamburger patties, what kind of meat do you use and the percentage of fat in the meat do you used ? what temp was the weber before you put the burger on.......thanks wheat
@EverydayBBQ
@EverydayBBQ 6 лет назад
Hey, Wheat! Thanks as always! These were store-bought patties and they were ground chuck 80/20 patties. Sometimes I do make my own and I usually stick with ground Chuck unless I get an amazingly good deal on ground beef LOL. I did not check temperatures on this cook and to be honest most cooks like this that are going to be quick I don’t worry about temperatures and I don’t have to because I’m going in direct. I have monitor times on slower cooks using the Slow N Sear and I’m able to maintain 225 or higher quite easily.

Great looking burgers. But if I'm making cheese burgers I go with a little better than the kiddie cheese that you unwrap every slice. Sargentos Monterey Jack is good.
