Cheese Press 

Hey Larry! I downloaded the plans and had someone with the woodworking skills make my press which is now in use. The fabricator used cherry wood and finished it beautifully so almost like furniture and almost too nice to use (but I have). This press is the greatest thing since sliced bread (or cheese?). I would encourage anyone to get the plans. I don't know if my fabricating friend will make any more, but if he does, they will likely be on eBay. $40 of materials (cherry wood remember) so great value. I'd upload a picture, but not sure how to do that. In terms of space...it is very compact, so not a storage issue. I leave it sitting out like wood sculpture!

That press is a thing of beauty. I wish I had enough space in my tiny apartment for one. Maybe someday... I really enjoy your videos. Keep going!

Thanks for this! I'm thinking of building my own Dutch style press. I'm wondering how much reduction in the volume of the curds I should plan for. In other words, if you compare the volume of the cheese when you're done pressing it to the volume of the curds at the beginning of pressing, what's the greatest reduction you ever have? Thanks!
