It likely said on the foil Ben peeled off -- regular Sterno only burns at 80*C but I imagine that for a pizza oven it would need to be higher. It does look depressingly like the same blue gel from regular Sterno, though, in which case you don't need the gadget at all.

I actually got my grandmother an electric jar opener. At first, she was annoyed because she said she never ate anything that came in jars and she wouldn’t have any use for it. Turns out she wasn’t able to open jars so she just didn’t buy anything that came in one. Two years later she now uses it on a daily basis!

It's always really nice to see someone review a gadget and understand that it's market is more for people with mobility/dexterity issues and not just say "Who needs this? That mnemonic never made sense to me... If you're opening a jar or a bottle, the part that's facing towards you goes right to loosen it and left to tighten it. I used to own a second hand one of these egg toasters, it takes a couple of goes to adjust the water measurement to suit your taste/conditions but they are brilliant.. i used to make poached eggs on toast with wilted spinach and cheese for breakfast or lunch in 4 minutes. By the time you toast the bread, butter it and put on the cheese the egg and spinach were ready to go. You could make a perfect McDonalds style egg mcmuffin each morning, warm sausages/meats cook mushrooms, berries and cook dumplings as it doubles as a mini steamer :) i got it secondhand, used it for 4 years until it started to have trouble heating the toast and still miss it.

Had this talk recently with a friend. There's a lot of objects out there that kind of get laughed at and marketed as "are you too lazy to pull your socks on?" kind of gadgets. But those items are really, really important for people that have physical limitations. Because those people are probably not enough to make manufacturing the product profitable, the companies have to do those kind of "are you too lazy" marketing schemes to sell enough.

I'll be honest, jar opener is a game changer. I always end up having to pick my lids with a massive knife - which screws them up, and then i can't reuse them. Watching super-smart Ben learn how to open jars is so adorable. And now that I think about it, I probably often start trying to open jars with my right hand (going the correct direction) and then switch to my left hand if it doesn't open right away (without ever consciously thinking that way gives you more leverage in that direction, but just feeling like it's easier).

They laughed at Jamie suggesting having that mini pizza oven on his desk just feeding stuff into it and snacking as it comes out but as someone who legit does that with a toaster oven it's honestly great. It forces you to take quick breaks for a minute or two assembling the next batch and take out your current one, which can help your current work from reaching burnout as quick. Does for me at least.
