James did it in the remote controlled chef episode accidentally ofc but he did it there. Like Barry was expecting him to rotate the avocado but he cut through the seed😅.... James Currie did it
The pink sauce got even worse. A company in America made it for her and collabed with her. Gave her a very generous fee and she blew through it and asked for more, which they obliged and paid more early. She got greedy even though it wasn’t selling and went on a social media rant and the company dropped her. She’s just brought out blue sauce but everyone hates her as she is greedy, rude, lies and has burnt all her bridges. She had such an amazing opportunity and blew it.
That whole case was fascinating to me. You could see from the beginning that this person is just a loud, screechy, annoying grifter with zero knowledge or care shown towards food. The amount of people who were willing to give her the time of day is still wild to me as a thing that actually happened.
@@Maialeen she is so lucky that such a big company did and then how she treated them and expected everyone to be on her side was wild. That level of entitlement is wild to me. Then seeing this week she is back with blue sauce and the video of her eating it made me feel physically sick. Anyone who backs her this time has more money than sense.
@@kunimitsune177yeah she was just the one in a million lucker that benefits off of the newbie in marketing for a big firm who feels the need to do something "different" as soon as they get any control 😂
@@EiP_Wasn't it the other way 'round? Barry taught James to cut this way, asking him to cut around the seed - but James just used his guns and plowed right through?
CPM is lowest in January so that's why a lot of channels pump out a ton of videos in December. Not trying to sound cynical but there's a reason for it lol.
@@kjth2003 Cute comeback, but my point was volume. They could have just as easily been like "and for the video of the day today, join us over on the livestream" #extraplug #jobdone
Baz in a Quadrant hoodie?? some of my faves crossing over, love it!! Also, massive, major thanks to the boys and all the team for the work they're putting in over the festive period - advent calendar of videos + the live show!? Incredible work from everyone involved, so thank you guys!!
Everyone talking about the way Barry cut the avocado, are we all forgetting James doing it that way before? The way he casually shrugged it off saying "I'm just strong" was... quite appealing....
@@moonpie21012my bf and i have been watching sorted forever (i got him into it), but he only figured out that mike was "janice" after watching one of the live shows we purchased a few years ago 🤯😶
It's always interesting to experience how a different culture uses an ingredient in a way that's different than what you're used to. I grew up in Mexico, so avocados are only savory, but I have a Filipino friend, and he had me try an avocado milkshake, and it was amazing. I had a similar experience with tamarind; in Mexico, it's only used for sweets, but I had Indian food where it was used for a savory chutney, and again, it was very good.
I would’ve watched it, but I’m currently travelling across the USA so I wanted to save up my money (not that I think the livestreams are expensive, I’m just an ‘every cent counts’ guy)
I think the problem with the pink sauce is that the original sauce uses freeze-dried dragonfruit, while the fresh stuff adds a lot more water (which is why it’s runny in the video you showed and when you tried it)
isnt that the thing that got into a kerfuffle about it arriving at stores absolutely rancid, and not being entirely safe for human consumption basically from the getgo (the original not homemade stuff)
@@goranpersson7726zero food safety protocols followed, a wildly inaccurate nutrition and ingredient label, that stuff. And when called out, the creator just kinda went "well, I didn't know". Yeah, that one
@@brianargo4595 aight ye, good to know. thought sorted would atleast mention that/bring it up when they went over the thing. hence why i was unsure if it was the same
Ann Reardon on How To Cook That did a REALLY good video on pink sauce. She debunks the botulism fears and even manages to make a decent replica of pink sauce that doesn’t just use already-flavored things like ranch dressing. She shows that you can make an emulsion with dragonfruit and oil, which is pretty cool, and also means you don’t have to add mayonnaise for body/texture.
Thank you! Anytime I see people mention pink sauce and start talking about botulism and what not I get really miffed because it seemed more like the internet doing what the internet does and just clout chasing by claiming food poisoning and everyone starts spreading that misinformation. I don't care how the lady acted towards everyone, wrong information is wrong!
I thought that hash-brown was a Weetabix. Used to be quite popular eating a Weetabix spread with butter with toppings. (This was back in the 70's though)
@@SortedFood It was quite often used as a sort of inexpensive diet biscuit/cracker that would really fill you up, that & as we were all "latch-key kids" a simple snack when you got home from school.
Yay thank you for this for those of us that are not able to view/purchase tickets for the live to still have the video a day. now to go watch it before getting ready to go to work. it’s only 1:30pm but 11:30 can’t come soon enough for me.
Did it occur to anyone to try using an ice tray as a mold for the ravioli. That's actually what i thought the person in the video was using... Thanks again for reinforcing my decision to stay faaaaar away from tik tok. :)
Brother Barry... doing tons of recipes with ingredients from all over the world for many years, and still you cut an avocado like that. I'd vote for removing some of his badges. Right up there with the "avocado hand" "syndrome" of the UK.
In Poppy's defense I had the same problem when I first started watching Sorted. Took me a few episodes to work out who Spaf was and that Ben wasn't actually named Ebbers
For an actually good pink sauce, grate and sauté some beetroot, make a mornay with a reasonably strong cheese (maybe an aged cheddar or a smoked gouda) and mix the two thoroughly. Blend after if desired. Goes great on pasta or chips.
Food scientist Ann Reardon (How To Cook That) did an in depth video about the Pink Sauce controversy about a year ago where she also managed to reverse engineer the likely original recipe
I'm glad she gave that explanation about her first appearance, because I really couldn't stand her vibe ther first few times she was on. I've really started to like her more recently.
Poppy confessing she picked Mike in that first challenge because he was the only one she could remember the name of is so funny and lokey relatable. The boys have sooo many nicknames 😂
The episodes with Penny are really fun. Her chemistry with all of you is just really fun, she just really jives with your collective sense of humour! I really hope we get to see Patty visit Sorted more often!
I can see Jamie still hasn’t got over the sting that Baz won the red apron. After the last pass it on where his cider mashed potatoes and air fried potato nuggets were passed over we can all see why. I think that is why Barry did so well in the poker face challenge as he was used to eating Jamie’s strange concoctions.😂
They will pee red for one day and somewhat pink the next. It is one hell of a scare if you had never eaten red dragon fruit before. Oh, and number 2 comes with specks too!
The thing about pink sauce is that the original creator acted as if it was something new and exciting, but it's literally just ranch with dragonfruit for color. She actually called it "pink ranch" when it was available as a sauce in her short lived ghost kitchen.
