ugh this is the real NYC and based on the comments Vice y'all need to show more of this...so many black chefs out here.. dig deeper please and thank you
I haven't watched a Chef's Night out in forever. It's usually always some lame pretentious hipster group or someone that needs subtitles. Finally happy to watch a real enjoyable episode with authentic folks again. The food looked great too.
This was so genuine and yes, all my POC! There are so, so many different kinds of folks in New York and I'm glad you guys chose an up-and-coming chef like Kia to highlight. Will probably check out Lalito now :).
This girl is wholesome as hell and is talking about loving everyone and y'all here in the comments bot being able to praise the episode with out putting down others
Here from Niki Franco's 'getting to the root of it' podcast!!! Kia Damon is such a wonderful person. I have 2 of her quotes on my mirror because shes such a idealized version of myself.
Great episode Munchies. Definitely gonna hit up Lolita while I’m in NY this summer. This episode & the scarrs one have been my favorite so far. Visited scarrs while I was out in NY in the fall and LOVED the pizza so I trust anybody you guys profile. We out much love Lolita
I agree with her. New York is a ROUGH place to be. I’ve lived here all my life and wonder all the time what’s the point of fighting for survival in this city when its doing everything in its power to get you out.
So happy to see brown faces. It’s interesting that black people historically were the cooks, but we no longer see them leading in kitchen now that it’s “trendy”..... more brown faces Please. We cook well and we eat well and we are funny asf.
I love African food ( especially Ethiopian) and I think things like Plantain are good and more tasty substitutes for potatoes for example. Jamaican style rubs/marinades for meat with their blend of spices - delicious.
Live on the wrong side of the world but I would have definitely asked the chef out....I like how you all said brown people...that's what I see all beautiful brown people, not "black"! Have fun
