That’s my neighborhood I miss it so much, I moved to Texas cause it was getting to expensive for me to live there but I hope one day to find my way back

Whenever I think 'Chelsea', I think Joanie Mitchell. I want to visit NYC someday. Seattle is my favorite city, but I can easily drive there, but New York, well I've never been to the east side of the country in my life. It will be a great holiday, though.
Originally from Rye New York I have been a Chelsea Manhattan resident since 2004. Prior to that I commuted to Grand Central Terminal over a 30-year. I was a member of The Saint in the 1980s. My block is all art galleries. London Terrace built in the 1930s occupies the entire block. The four corners buildings are condominiums while the central buildings are rentals. It has an olympic-size pool concierge as well. Plus the things we used to do up on The High Line before it was The High Line you don't want to know. West 22 Street is my block. The building shown on the right used to be a Mobile Station.
Used to buy bagels at Dizzy Izzy's at stupid o'clock while waiting next to a cop. Not one word about the friendly cross dressers or all of the butcher shops. Big trucks stop and men would carry out slabs of meat leaving blood and chopped ice. Women in expensive outfits walk through the bloody ice.
Thats where I live! Go to Billys all the time and sit on that bench and have their cupcakes. Thats where i was born raised and live- the best neighborhood ever.

I have my eye on an apartment on 16th and 8th. Would be a fucking dream come true...22 years old, finding my way, with a brand new spankin apartment in Chelsea. Fuck yeah.
Where do you park your car? I have a forest in back of my house in Indiana with cardinals, woodpeckers, finches and 7 other varieties of birds. Our yard is large. Our finished basement has a workshop. We have a garage and a shed and plenty of space. I have a music room upstairs. And of course we have a huge park just 4 blocks away, with baseball at night. And of course we have every kind of restaurant where I live. Of course I would never wish to live in New York City. Way too confining. Of the most important is the fresh, clean air.

Let's say you live in New York and you want to enjoy traveling to Long Island or Connecticut, or go fishing, or fly a RC airplane in New Jersey, what do you do then? We feel sorry for New Yorkers. Sure you have the theatre. But if you want to build a coffee table in your garage, or fix something in the basement, what do you do? How can you live like that? Don't you miss having a big yard, barbecuing in the yard? Picnic in the yard with the family. Are New Yorkers always frustrated? I can understand why.
Thomas Powell The thing about gentrification is that you kick out all the people who were originally living there because the rent is so expensive. It is good that it's becoming less dangerous but, at the same time everything is becoming more expensive. What they did to Bushwick and Willamsburg is very sad. Bushwick is still hood but, it's expensive at the same time. How is that??
