Molality = 2.45 / 0.8975 = 2.73 m
Example What is the molality of a 5.86 M ethanol (C 2 H 5 OH) (molar mass = 46) solution (1L) whose density is 0.927 g/mL?
Molality = 5.86 / 0.65744 = 8.91 m
Example Calculate the molality of 35.4 (mass %) aqueous solution of phosphoric acid (H 3 PO 4 ) (molar mass = 97.99 g) Assuming that the mass of solution (phosphoric acid and water) = 100 g
Molality = 0.36 / 0.0646 (kg) = 5.57 m
