Thank you. This is very encouraging. I'm always apologizing for being slow and forgetful and while people try to understand, they really don't know what it's like unless they've gone through it.

Sorry I don't agree about lack of sleep causing chemo brain. The culprit is the chemicals of chemo destroying brain cells. It's been taking me a long time to get better. I'm getting better bc I take superior supplements and essential oils that have been healing my cells from within and rebuilding my immune system, something my oncologist could care less about in my recovery.

U are correct, chemo is cytotoxic, it's poisson, it may kill cancer, but people are left with the underlying results, most Oncologist's are not researches, they just give what big pharma tells them

I researched the causes of chemo brain and agree with you as to the primary cause. I was so disturbed by this that I had intended to give up treatment half way through since I have near zero chance of a long term cure. However, I am trying to deal with the problem and the contributing factors such as anxiety and lack of sleep. My oncology team are also reluctant to face the issue and under UK National Health Service I cannot access a neuropsychologist. What is most annoying is that on my consent for treatment form the issue was not referred to at all. I contacted via email the author of the form which is almost universal throughout the system and she replied to say that it's inclusion would be raised at the next meeting. Needless to say, my oncologist did not mention cognitive impairment as a side effect when I gave my consent.

Insomnia is a side effect of chemo.

@@sriramaniyer9415 Interesting to hear that because I had a very distressing "nightmare" between waking and sleeping and was very afraid to sleep for the rest of the night. Insomnia is a constant problem for me on chemotherapy.
