Totally true. I grew up near Ambur, when I came to Bangalore, I didn't like Donne Biryani initially, but now after 4 years, Donne Biryani is all I eat. Taste takes time to develop.
One more point to add, people should try to look beyond asthetics when it comes to biryani. Hydrabadi, awadhi and Kolkata biryani are typically very pretty looking, but an Andra or Chennai or the famous donne biryani can give a run for the money to it's more aesthetically appealing cousins.
I am deciphering information from the other RU-vidrs about Chennai scenario . I certainly conclude that Yaa Mohaideen is the best Regarding Quality and Quantity also consistent taste. Although the owner is a third standard dropout,employs a dozen Quality control M B A ‘S in his company.Great.

Have tried their biryani umpteen times either directly at this old joint or have got bucket biryanis for many family events . So when you buy biryani it should be Mutton Biryani as this has more flavor than the chicken biryani based on experience . Taste can be always hit and miss . So expectations should also be low. They can also really surprise sometimes with great taste. Quantity - No complains . It is always huge . Overall would give 8/10 for the mutton biryani and 7/10 for the chicken biryani.
You should try the indo Burmese food that the city has to offer kripal. Try atho,mohinga,bejo and mollesa and certainly dont miss out on the banana trunk soup

Sir, your videos are great and the way you explain the food by having the food or savouring the food makes the video quite more interesting. I would suggest or want you to make a series in Tamil Nadu especially Madurai. The food here is very amazing and it’s like the non-veg food, especially the mutton, the parathas and the other dishes. There are many in Tamil Nadu especially madurai is like the food capital And the food here is quite amazing than any other part in Tamil Nadu.there are even 100 year old food clubs and eateries I can accompany you!
I had chennai biryani and it was a sort of authentic yakni style biryani.....and had a feeling of eating some healthy biryani. As in the video shows biryani with brinjal curry, egg, raita and plenty of meat makes it a wholesome meal. When it comes to food people from chennai feed their guests with love ❤ that's why may be I still have that homely healthy feeling even now and more over Ammanna Sir had enjoyed it to the most and hope he explore more food in India.

Amazing biriyani spot, the amount of Chicken Biryani is enough for 2 people its huge sir, good portion size. I would go for lunch and save remaining for Dinner, going there next trip.

I enjoyed this episode very thoroughly It is my and most of my college friends go to spot since 2011 as the time I found the place and had it yesterday too from the same spot. On a funny note We call it our temple in college days. I’ve made this to get it served for our college farewell.😀 The biryani is one of the kind that you’ll keep coming for again and again of its meaty flavour and yummy moist taste. The quantity is so much more as usually one can’t finish it where I and my friends have one 1/2 plate biriyani and go for and other with sharing the second one. I agree Biryani is a wholesome meal . I have had the Biryani at this eatery 👍 I have heard about Shabnam Banu but this is the first time I am watching her on TV or any media . It’s wonderful that you connected with her to help her in identifying some gems in and around Chennai 👍 Good attempt in communicating with the manager in Tamil 😀 Yes one need to get the Biryani from a window 🪟😀 Wow you actually found a place to relish the Biryani . Having said that I am sure you might have better Biryani in other eateries but this eatery has its own style .Ha ha - I loved the comment from the customer “ Namba Ooru Namba Gethu” The chicken Pakoda seems to have hit the spot in terms of flavour . Now time to savour the MB and SB is correct there is a lot of meat inside the MB . Fabulous analysis and differentiates between the MB & CB - Hats off chief 💯💯💯 It’s a good combo of MB and Kathrikai Gotsu / Pachadi 😋😋 I am already drooling despite just finishing my lunch . Good ploy to keep SG to keep answering while you are busy nibbling on the MB . Great observation; no background sound as every customer is genuinely and silently savouring the Biryani 👍 Glad that you relished the Mutton Sukha ( loved the way you described the sweetness as marmalade like ) . I thoroughly enjoyed this biryani tasting, especially the rudimentary setting of the shop that in my opinion, was the sort that made it quite literally all about the food. Mutton Biriyani is really good here especially the pieces n yaa mohaideen is one of the oldest shop n on Sundays big queue. Only this branch still maintains it's quality n other branches are not ok. They grow goats in their own place n don't buy flesh from outside

I like all kinds of biriyani but over the years the fat in the meat has just increased.. it tasted great before, don't understand why so much fat in recent years..
