I am absolutely fascinated with Chernobyl and Nuclear power in general. I love looking into stuff like this. I believe you have just earned another subscriber.
Your channel is absolutely the best about Chernobyl stories related! Huge amount of themes and detailed view on the different aspects of Chernobyl accident, also you can share the thoughts in the simplests way are what I might expect from Chernobyl related YT channel! I have a question: Will be stories about Leningrad Power Plant accident in 1975 or Mayak in 1957 in this series?? :)
Was it partial core meltdown like in TMI when faulty valve didn't open, or "uranium tank ruptured"? Partial core meltdown with a lot less severe consequences than at TMI :)
That was a completely different situation, it would be hard to compare them because of the reasons behind those two events - Chernobyl was based on multi-level faults and problems, including technical, personnel and others. Also the result of the disasters were much different as in Chernobyl the meltdown was only a part of the problem :-)
@@Chernobylite Fukushima is more interesting because both accidents are on the same level, they were warned about tsunami but failed to build bigger wall, put generators one floor higher and do somethign about pumps generators wouldn't work because tsunami destoyed them. They were "lucky" for having sea nearby to dilute radioactive water they couldn't control.
Wow, that could be an interesting plot change :D But I don't think so, most probably the cover up was to hide the mistakes / neglections rather than something "more". It's not Stranger Things :D
Look for it on our Twitter first - usually big announcements are made across all social media, RU-vid included, but some smaller sneak peeks appear more often on Twitter or Facebook :-)
Whole series is missing essential information like who was Dyatlov, what really happened during previous accidents in Chernobyl (this series), etc. Reading good book would be enough to make good documentary, unfortunately someone only using this accident to boost game sales or making money in other ways. Take a bath in Karachy :)
@@Chernobylite Ok, that's better than i thought. Several suggestions; next time add a bit about Dyatlov family, work for Soviet navy, nuclear accident while doing work on naval reactor, dual use of RBMK reactors, graphite tipped rods causing steam (not nuclear) explosion, one episode about Dyatlov is not marked properly causing confusion. I might be too old for this program because my generation remembers accident very well, know a lot about it, some further research into civilian nuclear power added some knowledge. Have to see a few more episodes to say more, so far it seems good for younger viewers because basics are at one place, bad side is presentation of civilian nuclear energy as something bad, despite RBMK design being half military... You have many videos, good job!
Will do! Right now, we're researching into it - there isn't much reliable sources unfortunately and the current situation in Russia and Ukraine doesn’t really help finding documents or any other information 😬
@@Chernobylite Good, i know it takes time to do this things, more so for new channels. You could maybe expand this to other areas like good side of nuclear energy because it is the only way to cut co2 releases. Maybe start by explaining coleration between REM and Gray if you are into technical stuff? Lots of options.
