Ian and Chris fish the iconic Chesil Beach and enjoy plenty of action with hard fighting smoothound! Beach fishing UK at its finest! #fishing #chesil #seafishinguk #beachfishing
Hi Kevin so nice to hear from you I’m glad you enjoyed the video it makes all the effort worthwhile when anglers like yourself take the time to post a nice comment Take care cheers Ian
Hi Taz lovely to hear from you again We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening as you could see and definitely had our share of luck too!!😂😂😂 thanks as always for watching cheers Ian
Cheers Guys … Fantastic session, well worth the long walk, though I’m sure it was hard going on that shingle. Thanks Ian and Chris really enjoyed the video until next time take care 👍🎣🎣
Hi Stephen so pleased that you enjoyed the video!! We always feel that the walk is worth the effort and it’s relatively easy on the way there full of anticipation but the return in the early hours is an absolute killer!!😂😂😂 Thanks again for watching cheers Ian
Hi Leighton lovely to hear from you again! So pleased that you enjoyed the video….. not too sure what you’ve learned over the years as generally I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing!!😂😂 all the best!!! Cheers Ian
Hi very nice to hear from you again! Yes the walk is a killer but usually well worth the effort…. The walk back to the car is a struggle though….😂 Cheers Ian
Great session and that you can catch hounds without using crab bait - such a fixation at times with peeler for hounds. Well done guys and it makes the walk back an easier one !!
Nice to hear from you again! Yes I rarely use crab as it’s expensive and limits your chances of other species too. Hounds like worm if it’s got a bit of squid on it i find! Cheers Ian
Hi Keith very nice to hear from you We were lucky that the hounds passed through before dark as the dogfish at night were a real menace!!! Thanks for watching much appreciated cheers Ian
Never caught a smoothie, I'm contemplating putting my lure rod away come November and doing some bait fishing, bass on lures can be difficult to find in Ireland during the winter months.
@gosnest I’m sure they are mate!!! I enjoy bait and lure fishing but that rush of adrenaline when a fish hits a surface lure is something to behold!!! Cheers Ian
Hi Alan thanks for your kind words! It makes all the effort worthwhile as it’s not always easy to fish and film at the same time!! I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment cheers Ian
Wonderful video Ian. I just love the way Chris and yourself go about fishing in that calm, matter of fact way, it really adds something to your video`s. Looking forward to the next. Good luck. Gordon.
Hello Gordon I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the video and our attitude towards our fishing! We are usually quite laidback about it but have our moments ( mostly edited out😂😂) Appreciate you taking the time to comment much appreciated cheers Ian
Hi Ian so pleased that you enjoyed watching it!!! I was thinking about getting some casting lessons as you seem to have great fun improving your technique and mine definitely needs some help as you could see!😂😂😂😂 Cheers mate tight lines.. Ian
Great video as always Ian, some nice fish in fairness, well done! I've been down in Weymouth on holiday this week and I fished the Ferrybridge end. Bait fishing was quiet, just the one Red Gurnard and lots of Pouting, bites were few and far between. The lure fishing was good, lots of Scad and big Mackerel close in, especially at dusk. The last time I fished Chesil was about 10 years ago and it was good to be back. Cheers mate 👍
Hi Gareth lovely to hear from you again!! I’m loving your RU-vid videos too!! Nice to see you fishing Chesil again after a few years away shame you didn’t get a decent fish on the bottom baits☹️ As a general rule I fish the Abbotsbury end early in the year and gravitate to Portland end later but that’s just a personal preference I was thinking of trying Morfa beach at Port Talbot in the next few weeks for smoothies never fished it before…. If you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated cheers Ian
@@ianclarkfishing Thanks Ian, I'll bear that in mind as I want to try it again later this year. As for Morfa, I fished it a lot when I was younger as Nan had a caravan down that way. I would arrive an hour before low and fish it up to high but other anglers fish it at different states of the tide, I guess it comes down to personal preference. I liked a decent size tide but not a really big spring. Be mindful that if the wind is on the strong side, you can get a bit of a swell. It can be a great mark and can throw up anything, such as Smooth-hounds, Rays, Bass,Turbot etc. It's been a number of years since I last fished it and so you may want to look at the forums etc to check the latest up-to-date information, although I doubt much has changed. Hope you have a good session.
Thanks John! You are very welcome to join us when you’re free…. We spoke about you yesterday when you fished in that horrendous lightning storm a few years ago!!!😂😂 cheers ian
Good session! I fished Abbotsbury Friday night 6pm-2am, had 2 doggies, a pout and a spider, something also took a whole squid but lost it right at the end
Hi nice to hear from you! Unlucky on the lack of hounds I think they pass through in packs quite quickly so it’s easy to miss out unfortunately ☹️ Walking a bit past the teeth is definitely worth it I think….. avoiding the crowds means that all the fish in front of you have only your bait to eat and not the anglers either side of you too. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment cheers Ian
I've been waiting for this 1. I was only thinking this morning when will Ian and Chris be down chesil on the hounds. I went for 1 last trip before the baby arrives, last weekend wanted to do Abbotsbury after the hounds.but the party vibe was still going strong, car park basically full, people asleep in cars, people still drinking on the beach at 6 am,feathers flying everywhere. So went to west b instead. Didn't catch anything apart from a few mackerel. Hopefully the hounds will be around in a month or 2 when im back out. Great watch as always, keep up the great work guy's 👍
Hi Jamie Firstly congratulations on the imminent arrival of your new child!! I’m sure the hounds will still be about in June I usually catch more then than in any other month. Abbotsbury was full yesterday but we were the only ones past the teeth! Thanks as always for watching much appreciated cheers Ian
Ohhh nice tide tomorrow mate!!! Not done too well there recently but fancy your chances in this weather and conditions!! I expect a photo of a big bass!!! Cheers ian
@James_Howell_Fishing oh no!! My son and mate fished there yesterday morning and had nice sole 2lb ish and small bass so there are a few about Cheers Ian
