Was playing with my friends, spectating a match with one bot and one real person. Whenever the bot got on a gen we all went “MMMMMMM” like a microwave, lmfao
14:40 Notice how the bot medium vaulted near the killer to draw attention to itself, so that the injured, once-hooked teammate could escape. Bots are the true chess players of DBD.
The DBD code is the most bizarre thing to me: Somehow, they can take months to fix a simple collision issue which may also break the animation of a killer and also require a killswitch to a perk And At the same time, implement bots that can interact with a plethora of game mechanics, environments, and perk combinations better than a sizeable portion of the playerbase
To be fair they cheat to do some of it. They are pretty awful in chase in their 'weak' spots but cheat to see the killer. If they didn't do this, they'd be maybe only better then 65% of the player base instead of 85%.
@@Peachrocks5Nah without the wall hacks bots would die in 20 seconds of chase, it's very hard to code prediction AI like predicting where a killer is going to be
@@yuppersmeer6080 I think you overestimate how ‘good’ many players are.. Even if they just ran in a straight line and played around safe pallets in the most basic of ways that would be better then most players.
@@pontushult1879 It is because you are basically trying to code how to predict a human's actions... otherwise it's gonna get fooled by basic backtracking and moonwalking. You might think that's easy to code but it really isn't, especially not in a way that's consistent and can't be easily countered by killers experienced with bots
the fact that its completely acceptable and relatable that scott leaves at the first notice of a unnerving presence skull merchant, is just undeniable proof that this killer was a failure..
@@mynty2730 alot of people go on about this tbh, but on the flip side who wants to sit in a match for an hour with a skullbitch running back n forth bewteen same gens playing chess with draughts pieces ? i sure as hell dont and im sure if you were a survivor a 21 hour match trying to do 1 gen wudnt be fun either. So what options do we have ? afk till match is over, dc or kill yourself on hook. The problem is not people dcing the problem is SM and like peeps, inc Scott, said. At this point there is no salvaging this killer unless you completely gut her kit or delete her.
I imagine cage bot just sees plot twist as another form of self care, and knows to go somewhere hes not gonna get interrupted. Still insane to witness though hot damn.
Follow up comment: I let a Claudette bot escape earlier today cause when I played survivor, a Kate bot rescued me when the player was trying to throw. #BotsByDaylight let's go.
Bots cheat though and can see through walls. Also once you figure out that they are weak against vaults its really easy to punish them, they also don't respect three gens so you can get one without trying. I can win against bots with good builds with no killer power or perks. I'm a pretty mediocre killer honestly, I just have a 'talent' for spotting AI patterns/weaknesses. Only the most terrible of spawns + extremely good gen speed builds do I have trouble. I was going to do a video/post on reddit for how to beat bots but honestly, I'm in a real 'why should I bother nobody cares' mood. That and it helps Dull Merchant players and people who will play against bots a lot so that's not... ideal.
CageBot knows exactly how to sneak around the drones because he's been training for it his entire life, just watch him do gens, open chests, or anything where he sits still. Constantly practicing the ways of the drone rotation, you have merely adopted the drone rotation, CageBot was born in it.
I believe bots drop their items when they're depleted in the eventual situation where another survivor may have Built to Last and this allows other survivors to pick it up and replenish the charges, it's actually well thought behaviour. Because otherwise they wouldn't understand to drop an item from another survivor's hand signals.
It would also help for "stealth reasons" seeing as a bot has no use or sentimental value for a bright red obvious medkit, what are they gonna do- save the item for the next match?
I actually thought it'd be their way of "justifying" stealth killers like Myers without being completely thrashed by bots knowing the instant you stalk.
My favorite parts about all of this: 1. Pretty much no one would argue with you about DCing against a Chess Merchant. 2. It’s nearly universally agreed upon that nobody wants to go against any Chess Merchant, ever. 3. Pretty much every Chess Merchant is toxic by default, and by extension, deserves every amount of BM they get. 4. DCing against a Chess Merchant doesn’t come with any effective punishment because they’re not common enough to rack up harsher DC penalties, and because bots will pretty much outplay any Chess Merchant player, therefore staying to watch them do that is more fun than any actual match against one. This is one of the most based videos I’ve seen Scott make, all thanks to a goated bot.
And not every chess merchant is toxic it’s just the fact that survivors are arrogant and toxic and are simply getting the revenge they had coming to them long ago
lmfao you can see its programming its just >if(survivor_on_hook = true) - go save. soon as the survivor got downed it went to go pick'em up too. but soon as it got picked up bots like nope.
I think the reason why the bots “microwave” is because they have an actual camera, otherwise abilities and perks just wouldn’t work (stealth killers as a whole, Ghostface, etc), so BHVR needed a way for them to look around without having 360 degree vision, but also not staring at a wall, thus: microwave.
“Let’s all act like entitled survivor main babies and only play killers we know we can loop!” Ya’ll survivor mains are the very definition of entitled and embarrassing, Just remember though ya’ll need us more than we need you.🤣😏
@@nubgutter I play killer as much as I play survivor, if anything, you sound like you only play killer and entitled yourself . SM's 3gen playstyle isn't healthy for the game and is lame. If you see nothing wrong with that, you deserve to play with nothing but bots for your games.
@@senorfusion94 Ah yes the classic “I play both sides” card even though you show clear favoritism and bias towards one side. *cough cough Scott jund and ohtofu* And there is just no pleasing you entitled survivor mains, Ya’ll complain about tunneling and camping and people playing the same killer over again but as soon as you face a new killer that is really good at keeping a 3 Gen you still complain and cry. This game has been survivor sided since the beginning and still is you don’t see most killers dc’ing every time they face a survivor with certain overpowered perks and items or a sweaty swf. Killers would be crucified and held to a different standard if they even attempted what ya’ll are doing. And yes I’m so incredibly “entitled” for pointing out ya’ll are crying entitled babies because you choose to dc against a certain killer, Next stupid thing you’ll say is bhvr is entitled because they implemented a dc penalty cause they actually want you to play the match.🤣😂
btw at the start of a game u can instantly tell if its merchant. she has the darkest circles around survivors with onryo. but u can tell the difference because onryos circles aorund the survivors are clear in the middle shaping more of a ring. just thought id mention that since it seems Scott didn't immediately know it was merchant
I presume it's just so spectators have something to watch because I swear to GOD testing Singularity the Bots are just psychic. They don't NEED to look around.
The bots are honestly getting pretty good. They aren't like the top 10% or anything, but they their reaction time at loops makes them really good time wasters cause mind games are useless.
I like how with all the react Andy drama going on we have entered the phase of dbd where we watch bots playing while the streamer eats. You're stealing to fruits of this bot's labour!
That is the most embarrassing thing I’ve seen getting juiced by a bot even though they can be cracked at times but thank goodness it was a skull merchant getting embarrassed she literally almost tunneled the feng bot and camped the nic cage bot 😂
They can literally see through walls. That is what makes them "cracked". You wanna break them, use an anti loop killer. It messes with their pathing so much.
@@w.o.jackson8432 I think it's to simulate a survivor's chance at getting caught off guard on a gen cause they were looking the wrong way. I do believe they actually use the camera to some extent to detect the killer, they just also have wallhacks
They are also wayyyyy better then nothing. Someone was arguing on reddit about how dumb they are... but so what? It is another body the killer has to hook. Also helps the killer by making sure they can adept / get mori's
Watching a bot do a skull merchant match instead of suffering through it myself so I can enjoy my food is so big brained I can't even thank you enough for this idea.
DBD Bot Wars is actually a great idea. It could be like Amiibo tournaments. Obviously you can't "train" a bot but you can give them different perks and items to see which ones perform the best. Like is the best bot build one focused on gens? Do bots react to auras? etc.
Bots do cheat though. They can see through walls and know where you are even with undetectable/oblivious. Try scratched mirror Myers or Legion with the addons that give you sight on people mending and makes them oblivious. You can visibly see them react to you. I was going to do a guide on how to take advantage of bots and easily beat them without power/perks but do I really want to help dull merchant players? Don't call her chess merchant. Chess has rules to prevent drawn out games, Dull Merchant does not.
I had a survivor DC when playing ghost face, and bots are gods at revealing you out of your power. It felt like I was playing the ghostface ptb again where you would get revealed from a single toe being visible.
I can imagine ways to revamp or improve Wesker, Knight and even Singularity, but not the Skull Merchant. There are no redeeming values whatsoever, except for this epic upload. Thanks Scott
I've decided not to keep track of when BHVR will use Pixel Bush's rework for Skull Merchant to not make her a shit killer since I don't have hope it'll happen. A guy can dream at least.
Bro, the survivor match times are fucking ridiculous right now. You’ll sit waiting for 5+ minutes with a full SWF and then get SM, Pinhead, Plague, Knight 🙃 Done playing DBD for a while.
all they have to do to skull merchant is make it to where crouching in the drone area makes them non detectable, like hag traps. or some mechanic with camouflage or something
by the way - 8:47 - chests generate their loot when they open, not when you start looting them or beforehand. it's so that if you 99 a chest and a guy with like, pharmacy walks up and finishes it, they get their medkit.
I'd say remove exposed effect but I think the problem is just the fact that I new would make this character strong and that's information. People can't stand the fact that they can not do anything without this killer knowing and a killer won't waste there time going to a dead zone. This is not just a merchant thing it. Take away her drones and her speed boost and give her the permanent passive to always have survivor's tracked and the garenty you this would still happen. Give any killer this information and see how fun your games are
The issue, however, is that the exposed effect gives her too much power combined with the info. If she has to chase a survivor without exposure, she has to chase to secure her downs, and survivors would be much braver if they didn't need to worry about getting downed in one hit. It doesn't solve the problem of three-genning per se, but it makes her far less effective at it. As the old adage goes, "a good survivor doesn't care if you know where they are." I think the best way to rework her without redesigning her entirely is 1) remove exposure from the drone's ability, 2) increase the drone radius, and 3) remove the display for the drone radius and HUD display for survivors so they don't know when they're in a drone's radius. This would change her into a stealth killer essentially, trying to chain together drones so she can stealth between them and catch survivors unaware. Survivors need to be aware of their surroundings, listening to the whirring of the drones to disable them.
@@RoyalCrest-LetsPlaysAndMore as much as I like and have the same idea for this because she already has 2 add-ons that only work if you are in a active zone. A thing you simply don't do. Exposure is something you have to force most of the time. Like shoving a drone into basement...you can't disarm at active one without being exposed. This is the knight problem that he will not leave a gen alone if he can confirm your there only with the use of guards. It's information not really exposure that's the problem Honestly people should just suck it up and take the drones at this point. Nurse and hag already can get a 7-9% haste boost just by having a addon and nothing else
I think that towards the end, the Cage bot neglected the gen when the Dwight was downed to try to pickup the slug, then ran back when he got picked up.
I'm excited to see how BH fix the Skull merchant. Is she gonna be the first Fully reworked Killer? Are they gonna nerf her to the ground and forget about her? The worst case is that they left her as she is now, but I found that not that possible.
I imagine BHVR will do as they normally do in that they wait literal years before adding the most halfassed "rework" possible, like with clown and freddy
Was wondering if this would work as a perk idea, i would call it repentance and it would involve getting 4 hook rescues to reverse one hook state, and because you can only do this with the first two hook states that means you only get 2 hook states reversed at max in a game in addition to that it would add an additional 2500 bp for killer and 1000 for survivor for the extra hook state interaction and the hook state reversal interaction giving an incentive to extend the game. I am open to opinions.
The only thing I've found that bots really get ruined by is doctor. The madness skill checks seem to just fuck their shit up and I've had Meg bots get literally stuck in T3 because they couldn't hit the skillchecks even if I left them alone screaming in a corner for while.
Skull merchant imo IS fixable, just make it so when ur in a drone and on a gen u don’t build up the expose timer and make some sort of change to her drones in chase
