@@waryth4475I think there's a somewhat funny charm when the world is supposed to be a fantasy RPG where most characters still use bow, magical artifacts and swords. But then this one character pulls out a gun.
@@itsarin2166there are cultural and technological disparities between the nations of teyvat. It only underlines the uniqueness of every character's cultural background.
4 treasure hoarders break into my house, and I yell "what the devil". Grab my powdered wig and musket. Blow a golf ball sized hole into the first man, hes dead on the ground"
She's pretty much a military personnel/musketeers and at that time, they will be armed with musket and sword or polearm (polearm/spears are the best and the most deadly weapon in a warfare scenario)
I love how French she is, the musket, the outfit, her eating fish n chips which is obviously meant to reference 'French' fries (Even though those are technically Belgian but eh), and just her general design. I love her.
@@TheJH1015 I trust the person speaking french lol. Fish and chips are a british thing, not a french thing. It's not supposed to be a reference to french fries. Fontaine is just an amalgamation of Western Europe (mainly England, France, Italy) so as a result their characters will be an amalgamation of western European cultures.
Nah i think she's gonna be a niche trash. Overload by itself sucks ass i dont think she would make the cut, they need someone like nilou to transform the reaction to something else maybe each overload effect triggers the explosion without the knockback or sth like that
Like the guy above said. It sounds like a lot but overload is a terrible reaction against most enemies, and with pyro why even go for a niche overload comp when you can just vaporize with the countless OP hydro units?
@@Chandoran Why you tryna act superior just because you like it? You don't see teams built purely around overload because it's just not as good. I'll say it's not "terrible", but it's not that great either. Doesn't do as much damage as other reactions, and it knocks enemies away which isn't a good thing majority of the time. Just not worth it unless you really like the reaction or team combo
@@snowpools8498 you dont need to care with overload because usually weak mob will get 1 hit unless you team not build properly, in end game overload is one of the best reaction for breaking enemy with size big and also easy killing weak mob, its also can have big damage if you using other ways with full EM, you dont need to care with overload because team chevreuse like raiden / yoimiya can 1 hit every weak mob so overload doesnt affect
0:47 I see in Chevreuse the same mistake that in Mika. Their "aim mode" (crossbow/rifle) can't target weak points, is auto. You can´t make a headshot with them, like archers can. So you lose the hability of permacrit with weak points. But I can see that Hoyo is introducing, slowly, mechanics of shooters in playable characters. A true shooter, a new weapon, is more near that we think.
I don't see any reason for Hoyoverse to release a new weapon type in Genshin, considering that the "fragmenting" of characters into different categories thro the different weapon types doesn't really work as it's supposed to. The most unique weapon type (and also the one most similar to a gun) in the game is the Bow, since it can do both physical and elemental damage, it's long ranged and it can be aimed. It's useful for hitting the weak points of enemies like ruin machines, doing puzzles and sometimes it's handy in killing leftover hilichurls in abyss. Second most unique weapon type is catalyst, as it does elemental damage by default unlike the others. Useful for puzzles and elemental application, however it doesn't have any specified range in neither the charged or normal attacks. Some characters are short ranged (Wrio, Heizou), others aren't (Scara). Some characters throw projectiles (Ningguang, Klee), others target specific enemies (Sucrose, Barbara) and some are aoe (Nahida, Yae). All the other weapon types don't have any special advantages, except claymores being efficient at breaking stuff in the Overworld. There's little to no necessity to ever use the normal or charged attacks of any characters from these 3 weapon types ever too. The obvious solution would be to make them have something unique going for them like the aiming mode for the bow. Parrying for swords, tanking big hits for claymores, and spear throwing for polearms. However, this doesn't solve the problem that weapon types matter a too little when it comes to enemies. It's weird how bounty enemies are the only ones in the game that have resistances or weaknesses against characters of specific weapon types. Honestly all enemies should have that.
She’s good for Overloaded but I might use her for Burgeon/Hyperbloom team. The team is relatively cheap and all you really need is probably 1~2 hydro applicant(s), Chevreuse, and some good dendro applicants. A combo of Kuki, Nahida, Yelan and Cheveurse can work but replacing Kuki with hydro for only Burgeon works. We’ll have to see whether it will work when released though.
So team with her, xiangling (i think of bernett but bernett pyro application is bad), raiden and yae/fischl? Damn if she also need er polearm i dont have enough polearm for 3 er needed character
Apparently there isn’t a sacrificial spear because of lore reasons. Spears were used by peasants in the past so there will never be a sacrificial spear in genshin. At least that’s what I’ve heard
So basically reverse-childe character? Childe: Standard weapon is range, specializes in meelee combat, hydro, boi Chevreuse: standard weapon is meelee, specializes in range, pyro, gurl
I told you guys she was going to not use her gun as her main weapon . She’s just another spear user . This is what you guess get fir asking fir her to be the first gun user . They just give her a lame spear
I love almost everything about her character design but... am I the only bothered by her almost non-existent lower part not even covering her "coff coff"? It's like... Yae Miko but even worse.
I mean unlike nilou who doesnt do anything except her passive (which is overpowered already) her value drops so much when shes not in a dendro-hydro only party Chevreuse can still heal and do quite a significant amount of Buffing without the pyro-electro requirement. But if you do that , then theyre gonna be more powerful thats it
I will reinstall and conquer the seven nations of teyvat with the guidance of manifest destiny and the second amendment just as the founding fathers intended.
She has bascally built in VV in her kit for both pyro and electro, lol. I'd say she's worth it considering that she also does more with her kit. She can both heal and buff, and deal damage.
