I love the Captiva. We own this car and have always felt safe in it. It is an underrated car which deserved to sell more than a Hyundai Santa Fe or Kia Sorento. It comes with a decent features list being high on safety with six airbags, ABS with ESP and hill start assist but misses out on a few quintessential features like rear A/c vents considering that it is a seven seater. The engine options are great and moderately powerful but there is a slight compromise on fuel efficiency. What gives it an upper hand over its rivals is it price which just accentuates its appeal and the overall value for money factor.
The Captiva still sucks it’s unreliable things break on it and it’s just cheap and nasty. I’m more of a Hyundai and Kia guy (even with some incidents that happen.) but one things for sure from my experience Hyundai and maybe Kia (never owned a Kia.) have been really good.
Four years ago I had a sandwich accident while driving in Chevy captiva (my car was in the middle between Toyota wish and Toyota fortuner). Thanks to Chevy. Though the engine was shut down and the car had to be under repair for three months, I did not feel any pain and did not receive any Injuires at all. Plus Chevy dealer sent a toll to carry my car to their body fix garage for free (two hours driving from the accident point).
just recently bought a 2.4 petrol 2010 with 160* km on it. for a really low price compared to what you get. just replaced brakes, and tires, oil and spark plugs now. very few rust below on rear axle though salty winters, no rust on on body and no serious mechanical issues from predecessors. engines idles great. interior is cheap plastic, but spacious and feels safe inside. somehow really like the car, hope this doesn*t change in the future
The 2014 model of this car protected my boyfriend and I recently when we hit a group of deer standing in the middle of the highway at night at 75 mph. We had no time to react and hit them at full speed. The car shut off immediately, the whole front was destroyed but we walked away just sore and I had a cut on my neck from the seatbelt. I would gladly recommend this car to anyone. The car is definitely totaled, but it did its job and protected us.
We have a 2018 model of this car, and its awesome. We nearly have this car for 4 years, its a Black 2018 Captiva. Makes angry sounds also. Sadly last year we crashed and we had to repair it. We cant sell it because its a valuable car and its safety in it. We recently repaired it and its now ok. I suggest you to buy this car because of its comfort, safety, and durability. What do you mean? I have 2 Captivas and in 4 Years of Daily usage i didnt had one Problem with the Car. This maybe doesnt look like it. But it is a very Well done Car. And i would always buy another one. And yes. I also had some Doubts when i first bought it.

@@Dead_on_Arrival. Hmm. Thats Strange. Maybe because it was a 2010 Version. I have a 2012 Version and i didnt have any Problems since 6 Years. Of course there were Problems but they were caused by my Stupidity. There even Was Water in my Gas once but this Thing still kept running. Im a Mechanik and yes. The Car is difficult to repair. But if your Mechanik doesnt want to do it hes a Bad Mechanik. The Parts are also not that Expensiv. Atleast not Anymore. Mechaniks Always want 500€ for a Job that costs 50€. Thats why i made my own Garage where i repair my Car and thouse of my Friends, Parents etc. Its a Good Car for Cheap People. But its also not a Beast. So you have to take care of it.
