@@jeepercreepers54 maybe by the book they aren't breaking the law but they are endangering everyone's life too. What if police lose control of the car and kill someone? They are just going to say oops sorry? Yeah.
@patriotfivefivesix6863 cool, so now if I want to commit crimes just obtain a fast car, leave the plates off it and do whatever the hell I want. Then run when I get caught..
Drones and cameras already have ya caught, even if ya get away. It took dumb criminals years to figure out that ya can’t outrun the radio, and they’ll figure out the computer doesn’t forget, as well.
It is a myth They call ahead to the other state lines and have other officers waiting and are allowed to chase into that territory as long as the climb took place in their state.
Well it used to be but it seems (like everything else) times have changed. In 1968 I had picked up my date and headed to the drive-in across the state line in Missouri. Arkansas Trooper after pulling me over in Missouri said he had been chasing me for 11 miles. I gave him the ole Texas salute (🤷♂️), apologized, licked his boots (I have no shame) and he let me go with a verbal warning. We made it to the movie without further incident (for the life of me I can’t remember the name of what was playing - had my mind on other things - so did she)!! 😎
That trooper wasn't trying to catch the Maro. He just wanted to make sure they made it safely to Memphis. That was the most fun the trooper had in a month.. 😂
Hard to believe this chase went on for ten minutes before he reached state lines and Tennessee state police wasn't waiting for him as he got over the bridge.
Its just my opinion, but it looks like this trooper didnt report this driver to tennessee state police. Now ASP have a plate number & wants another oppt'y to arrest him. Gotta admit a 130 mph speeding ticket & an arrest is points on a trooper's personnel record. Its all about making $$ and who gets credit Really, this trouper shouldve broken off the chase when the camaro used the inside shoulder to squeeze by that semi. Continuing pursuit after that was needless. No speeding ticket is worth a life
It’s just traffic related charges they will only call the other state if there wanted for a felony or commit a felony in front of the cop!!! Typically where I live they won’t chase you if your driving that fast because puts too many people at risk just for traffic violations
And pray there’s no units close by they relaying this info to. Seen a chase where a car tried that in Washington into Oregon they had the state line ready to join in. So it’s just luck of the draw at that point.
@stormwarning1235 difference in chasing someone that's suspected of speeding vs someone that's suspected of kidnapping or murder (innocent until proven guilty cops are not judges)
I have a feeling it's not the first or second time the Camaro driver has done this lol. Pretty funny how he flashed his hazard lights towards the end as if he won the race 😂
Wild, brings back memories of when I was young & stupid. I too have hooked that left & run wide open (excess of 140 moh) towards Memphis across that stretch of road. Had my t-tops off & I just floored it for a few miles. My ‘78 T/A loved to stretch it’s legs there. Mind you, it was always late at night w/no traffic. So thankful my stupidity didn’t result in injury, death or incarceration.
Yeah, I did the same thing about 53years ago in a "Boss 351" Mustang. I wanted to find the top end on that machine. Waited till 2:00AM, got on one of the few 70MPH highways (MN) at the time. The speedo in the 'Stang only went up to 120, but when I "topped out" the needle was a ways past the 120 mark. I figured I was doing an honest 130MPH, that was enough for me! I count myself lucky that there was no debris or animal running across the highway otherwise I would not be writing this comment now. Stay safe!!!
I'll add mine: I was stationed at McGuire AFB in the early 70s. One night I was driving home to Barnegat on a road that was straight as an arrow for miles. I floored my Dodge Charger 440 and got up to 140 MPH. It was then that I noticed the trees on both sides flashing by and my thought that maybe the front tires might blow out. Eased it back to 70. That car was great but too much temptation. LOL
Reminds me of the time (20 years ago) I got pulled over for doing 110 on my bike. Trooper thanked me for stopping, and said, "If you had been going 120, I wouldn't have bothered".
its funny you say that, i was going like 140 in my car the other day and i passed a cop that was stopped waiting for speeders, i thought for sure my goose was cooked and i was definitely going to get pulled over....he didnt even try to chase me though, i would have pulled over right away if i saw him coming but he didnt budge, maybe he didnt feel like going that fast to pull me over lol
I passed a cop on my way back to GA from AL doing 120+mph while he was doing about 110mph, I was in a Dodge RAM, he was in a patrol car, I chucked him the deuce and pushed ahead, my ex was in the passenger seat freaking out until we got home.
Trooper is gonna be on point in and around that area looking and hoping to see that camaro again... I feel for the next unfortunate bastard who just so happens to be driving the same color camaro around that area 😆
Not gonna matter they got no proof who was driving 🤷🏽♂️ unfortunately I’ve ran twice a week in my 2015 5.0 😂 sad they can’t catch anybody these day except ppl who can’t drive
That's why owning 2 camaros is so important. Like myself. Run in the blue one. Getaway... drive thebred one dorm 6 months. Nothing to worry about other than. How fast the gas goes.
@@trippen4391 you must be an officer but anyways that’s cool too. My car was hit 3 times this year unattended and I had to come out of pocket. We need you down here Trippen.
The wife of the man in the camaro left him for a policeman, when he saw the police behind him, he thought it was that policeman who wanted to give her back.
@@jaybelle1909 He'd most likely would have been arrested for Reckless Driving and thrown in jail. Far more than just a ticket in that case, potentially of course.
When he got off that exit ramp that was a rolling stop, you STOP and count to three. So many cops will be up your ass for that, even if you came to a complete stop, but hey. They’re above the law
Future reference, the V6 Camaro is a 6th gen and they top out at 155. Faster than the cruiser. Don't be shocked; it's not the 90s anymore. They're 335 hp and with the 10 speed GM/Ford automatic it's a 4.9 second 0-60 and a 13.5 quarter mile. Only around 3300 lbs.
Debs husband says I once heard a state trooper talk about how boring it is to sit by a highway and watch traffic. If the truth were known I wouldn't be surprised if some of these troopers got as big a thrill out of the chase as the person they are chasing but I doubt they would ever admit it. 😊
I would be so mad if I was driving a cruiser limited to 130mph. There are stock 4 cylinders that go that fast. (Mine's 20 years old and naturally aspirated!)
There are versions of the Charger PPV that go 152mph. I don’t know what separates them, maybe a programming package. Yes a lot of cars will hit 120-130mph, but how many get there so effortlessly? Very few.
@Trippen This happened less than a month ago he wouldn't have been tried and convicted that quick. Even with a plea deal it would still take several months. Nice try mouth-breather 🤣🤣🤣🤣
that’s just how people drive there because they actually pay attention to flow of traffic and not fucking around on their phones like people in the U.S
How could u tell its a 4 cylinder? I know some of the v8s have close to 600 hp ! Thats just Insane cant imagine how that thing Pulls! Most I ever had was a Supercharged Mustang that pushed about 425 hp max.
@Jack White they have basic training on pursuits. Even if it's a quality program. There is no excuse for how much danger that cop made. Cops high-speed training is a joke. I've seen plenty that can't drive for shit. They are usually no better than an average person not to mention the distractions in the car. I'd argue they are more of a risk as they play on the computer in a chase. Cops cause more problems in a chase and typically make things worse.
@Jack White they are the biggest hypocrites of all. Just last night I saw 2 cops joyriding doing 90 down a 30 plowing through lights just putting people in danger. No chase just putting the community in danger because they can. There will be no repercussions for them but if I did that I would be in jail. I have no respect for cops and they should get no excuses they should be heald to a higher standard.
I've made that I-40 E drive from LR thru the entire state of Tennessee many times during the years I lived in VA, and I actually travel I-630, 30, and 40 every single day here in Little Rock. I find it as nostalgic as it is entertaining when these pursuits traverse areas I'm exceedingly familiar with.
If the trooper had a license plate reader then it might be possible they got a plate ID. Otherwise… That’s all she wrote folks. At 3:30, the trooper did get close enough that if he had an LPR, he could’ve got the plate. Crazy for the Camaro driver to play chicken with a tanker truck.
Good to see I’m not the only one who thought the cop was more reckless than the maro 🤣 that pass on the shoulder next to the trailer going 129 was insane. You could see he had to correct it the wheel every time he went over the bumpy things
@garthgimmestad8224 As you were, Einstein! He was left in the dust LONG BEFORE crossing the state line! And that officer may wind up being the success story with his recklessness chasing after him. P.S. You DON'T want to hear my friend's comment about this chase who is a police officer.
I'm a long haul trucker, that section is very scary for us. Its only 2 lanes each way and all the traffic going east and west is bottlenecked into that section.
I've seen Camaros out in the western deserts of the United States blow away highway patrol and troopers like they weren't even moving. One was clocked at 203 mph back in the 1990's..
Memphis is worse than Little Rock, bro. Little Rock has the highest homicide rate in the world. But Memphis has more muggers that will beat you for the two dollars you have in your pocket. In little rock that rarely happens but in Memphis it's a daily occurrence.
@@ScottSmith-bc5vs you do know that Little Rock is not even in the top fifty when it comes to homicide rates right not sure why you decided to just make up a lie for dramatic effect I guess lol but ok
@@kornelsfishtankproductions3610 could have been a v8 but I've taken my v6 camaro up to 143 before letting off I wouldn't be surprised if thats what was under the hood
I wish instead of black lives matter coming out there would have been a huge black people need to stop being wannabe rapper thugs movement that would help a lot more
Anyone have any context as to y he was chasing him or are we just assuming it's something minor bet u wouldn't be saying he was reckless if he was causing the man that just kid napped ur kid or killed someone
Exactly let me pass a semi on the shoulder going 130mph it’s totally worth endangering the public to stop this guy who is just a couple minutes away from Tennessee anyway 🤦♂️
