@@killawattgarage it took us two weeks to fix my car but I definitely agree, I wouldn't trade it for the world. Thank you again sir for the awesome video!!
En el sonic 2015 también tiene ese tapon color amarillo donde sale el refrigerante? Si es que si de que oado viene gracias por tus videos con esto yo mismo hago las reparaciones
Thanks very much for your video. Of all the similar videos on RU-vid, an Aussie one is the best. I have a 1.6 Turbo, and the turbo inlet pipe is directly above the thermostat. This pipe is impossible, at least for me, to remove, to gain access to the thermostat. Would you have any advice?
Hi, I'm from Argentina, your video is very good. Thanks a lot. I give you a little bit ... how many liters in total does the circuit carry? .. what percentage of coolant ?. From already thank you very much ?
6.5L is the refill capacity. Follow the instructions for your chosen coolant for the percentage as these change between brands and countries. Thanks for the questions.
I have a 2010 chevy aveo with the same set up for the thermostat and housing. Ive replaced it 3 times. And each time with in a month the plastic housing cracks. By chance would you know whats happening
@@killawattgarage Thanks, I have figured it out and its the same. I'm in Sydney and the GM part number is 25192228 for SriV 1.6 Turbo Hatch. Repco has completely metal alloy housing made by Tridon. part number TT725-221K
would you know the model number of the o-ring seal that goes on the metal pipe? after much searching I cannot find it, I believe it's called the oil cooler outlet pipe o-ring, everywhere I ask nobody seems to know the model number.
Where the hose fits into the thermostat there is a plastic clip that can be pushed off. It pushes of at a direction of 90' to the pipe. See the picture in the link with the close up of the fitting. www.amazon.com/ACDelco-25192905-Original-Equipment-Throttle/dp/B014VZH8LS
This atrocious plastic component, which seems to have "built-in obsolescence" and, when it fails, can cause catastrophic engine damage, can be replaced by an all-metal alternative which is available if you Google it. Why GM persevered with this horrible component heaven only knows although cynics might say because of the money involved when, not if, it fails.
Those plastic housing are crap. In Walmart they sell aluminium housings. And then, thermostats replacements 2 out of 3 times get stock. The solution is to use the Cruze (Sonic, Trax, etc.,) housing, and put a Chevy Volt or Cadillac ELS thermostat. Dorman sell a good replacement, never buy MotoRad. Those Chevy are Latinamerica's #1 sell car, not like USA, where people don't buy cars made in their own country. So, if you want an experienced mechanic, talk with your closest Argentinian or Puertorrican friend 😉
@@killawattgarage one more thing, be careful when turning the thermostat to take it out, because the temperature sensor is delicate. The part # for the thermostat for Chevy Volt is 55593035 from Dorman or 902-2080 from GM and around $40.
