I took a road trip across the US in 2013. I can't remember where I was, but wherever I checked for a new hose, it would have taken longer than I would be there. I wrapped the entire thing with black Gorilla duct tape, and today, 6 years later, I re-wrapped the entire thing with black electrical tape.
Thank you for this. Mine had separated on at least 40 percent of the hose. I followed your suggestion. I used ten sticks of glue. It worked great! It took over an hour because I had to wait for the glue to dry each time. You Saved me until I find a replacement intake hose.
You sir are awesome everything you said is exactly what I was thinking love your video keep up the good work hope our HHRs stay running strong GOD Bless from Texas Kris
Mine mysteriously vanished after taking the car in for service. I think the guys accidentally destroyed it and instead of manning up and telling me, they just tossed it and hoped I wouldn’t notice. Well, they were right. I didn’t notice it was gone, at least not for a while. Anyway, after searching long and hard for a replacement part, l gave up and decided to go with a 3” dryer vent flex hose from Lowes. It’s worked like a champ.
I also want to add since I've done this trick in this helpful video you may get a p0121 in your car saying you need to change the tps meaning throttle position sensor but don't freak out it's okay it's because maybe you have a whole in the hose again and your engine thinks it's the throttle body going bad so just check for leaks and you will be fine I promise I thought the same thing them I remembered I had problem with this and that's the possible problem and I was right so before you spend 100 dollars check this first please GOD Bless Y'all
Mine was so old and crumbly that it was falling apart as I tried to glue it...so I gave up and wrapped the WHOLE THING in friggin' wide painter's tape, and then again in electrical tape.
