As it bonds to itself i'd do it in smaller strips, save all the hassle of trying to wind it around.

I had a car once the air duck was coil had a ripp in itI have used duck tape worked for months or 2 but works better put 2 three lays of duck tape I got 4 months just got watched the tape here and there. Never use a heating duct pill and stick silver all it does is vapperate in a few minutes I already tried it.

I used a silver dryer expandable duct to replace my wore out one but didn't seal it right. Maybe thats giving me issues. I didn't think it had to be airtight. 🙃

Any thoughts on how to fix the flexible portion of the duct? Mine is just flaking apart as if it's dry rotted or something. The one on my truck is discontinued

I would replace it with an aftermarket duct. Just match the inner diameter of the hose on both ends

I have a 2016 Maxima, mechanic inspection said the air intake hose is damaged and need to be replaced. Im noticing weird stuff with the car like slow acceleration and higher rpms.. is this caused by the air intake hose damage?

High RPM’s can definitely be cause by a vacuum leak in the intake hose

Hi I'm wondering if this would work for my envoy air intake resonator the spout broke that fits the hose?? Do u think ??

You could try it, it might work. Use Black RTV Silicone as well to seal it

Excellent video~ The suggestion and demonstration for repairing a cracked air intake hose/boot is genius. We recently took our 2004 Nissan Pathfinder SE RW in for servicing @ the dealership & were told there was a crack in the air intake boot & that the part number: 165676-5W90A has been DISCONTINUED by NISSAN & since they're a Nissan dealership & can on ly use Nissan parts, we now have to find the aftermarket or used part and find a mechanic who will do the install. :-( This sounds crazy because there are plenty of people who get parts for their MUCH MUCH older cars than ours. *We're going to try your 'repair' suggestion with tape and silicone first but have a question: What is the brand name of the TAPE? is it Flex Seal Tape by Flex Seal? Is this a 'bonding' tape? Is Electrical tape similar? We cant locate the tape. ~Thank you

It’s not Flex Seal, it’s a specific Tape. I don’t remember the brand, but it is sold at Autozone

ok, thank you. So, we're being told that it would be $175 labor to remove, repair, and reinstall the intake boot, and also perform a computer reset which would be necessary for the car to reevaluate its fuel input in addition to buying the tape and rtv black silicone. Is this about right? *I think we had mentioned that we had already taken it in to a Nissan Dealership who replaced the Fuel Sending Unit, Fuel Pump & Fuel Filter BUT told us the Air Intake Boot was Cracked and Nissan had DIScontinued that part so we'd have to have that done elsewhere. @@PhillipsVision

Excellent idea. Now how would you proceed when the complete end of it (that slides over the throttle body) ripped off, you can't find it replacement part and have to drive 2.000km home....?

You can get an aftermarket intake hose at an auto part store and connect it from the throttle body to the MAF sensor.

Thanks Andy. Saves a lot of money on my wifes NISSAN. Japanese parts are very expensive in Europe, especially for the unique model my wife has with low sales in our region. Is the tape also called "rubber seal tape", same results?

Will this make my code p0101 stay on even though I changed the part. That intake still is lose . I changed the mad sensor and the camshaft like it said . Still the code come on
