Chevy Malibu p0016 p0017 fix

I just got this code today on my 2014 Malibu. I am overdue for oil change but car drives perfectly fine.Mechanic said it’s common and to start with oil change and vct solenoid . Hopefully that will fix it because I was told 1000 dollars to change timing chain.:( I hate Chevy

I just fixed mine thanks for the video but dude my bold was halfway gone and the black guide was broke 4 places and 3 pieces was jammed right up against the chain.

Thank you so much for the tips, but the intake cam sprocket does it needs any settings apart from the normal timing marks?

Nestor if your just doing the camshaft guides and chain and tensioner, the cam sprockets can stay on right?

How do you verify timing is correct if you are getting p0016 & p0017, with only the valve cover off? Can changing just the tensioner fix it?

i’m only getting p0016 on a 2014 2.5, could it still be the chain?

I just changed the timing chains in my 2010 Camaro after having a p0800 code and crappy gas milage, now car runs great but now I get the codes p0016 p0017, any ideas ? Thanks

Can a broken vacuum pump cause this codes ? Myne broke and i think it damage the camshaft ring that sends signal to camshaft censor
