I traded my 2020 Chevy for a 2021 ram because in the Chevy within 25,000 miles I had a check engine light and several problems and it shifted through gears really bad and I love the ram 100 times better

I looked at two 2020 lifted versions from two dealerships and they were priced the same. I liked the exterior on both, but when it comes to bang for the dollar, the RAM beats it when it comes to the engine. HEMI with 5.7 395 hp vs 5.3 355 hp and less torque. Plus the RAM had only 9k miles on it and the Chevy had almost 12k .That and the customer service from Dodge is better I found. Now, if you're gonna get the Silverado with the 6.2 L thats a different story, but, youre gonna pay almost 15 k more for about 40 more hp and less MPG, soooo again Ram is the better option. Before going with a pickup I was pricing the Tahoe LS and Chevy doesnt offer any "nice" options unless you're getting the LT or higher trims. Its almost as if Chevy is taking the older chassis and putting a newer body on it. Almost everything looks outdated on the base models and that column shifter on a $50-60 suv/truck makes it feel cheap. I found myself wanting to replace a ton of stuff in a 2020 model. The cloth seats in the Chevy look cheap vs the ram has like a leather/cloth design I like more.

The RAM looks better but I bet the 5.3 Chevrolet would outlast it. I know people who got over 350k on them as work trucks original engine and transmission.

Especially now that the 2021 Chevys with the 5.3l currently do not have the active/dynamic fuel management. The Hemi's still do. I'm more of a Mopar guy, although I like some GMs, but for a pickup truck, I don't like the rear coils or the continued MDS on the Hemis. The 2021 5.3l with the 6 speed auto will for sure outlast the Ram shown here.

. From people that tell me, Carmax pays half a vehicles worth. Then more than doubles the sale price. But most other dealerships are still worse. So at least The sales helpers at Carmax are NOT bad

Why does everyone care more about interior than anything else on a truck? My company truck is for work, the capabilities and simplicity are most important, interior and ride quality are just a marginal luxury, but not most important by far. I don't understand.

I had a 2018 chevy LTZ. Had her 3 years brand new. I tow 5500# everyday 5 days a week, stopping & starting. I took very good care of her. She even pulled my 32' camper, no prob. Last week, the tranny went out in the middle of driving. She only had 85,000 miles on her. SMH.. I still owed $20k. Now my options are a '17 chevy LT with 45k on it OR '19 Dodge 5.7 Hemi 4x4 with 60k on it. Advice please!!???

Honestly I sold my ram 1500 2019 now I own 2022 Silverado 5.3 and it’s a better ride and better performance. I think it’s so much better.

I like them both for different reasons. I’m one of the few that seems to like the exterior of the Silverado, I don’t like the new Ram exterior at all. The interior of the Ram is gorgeous. I had one of the previous generation Rams and the ride was awesome, can only imagine it’s even better now. Good thing Chevrolet dealers would rather not sell me a truck so the choice is easier. They want a sucker. And if it isn’t me, they’ll be happy to wait until that guy shows up.

You put a higher end RAM against the lower trim model Silverado. At least compare it to the LTZ with the 6.2L or 3.0 DURAMAX.

The 6.2 isn’t standard for the Ltz and price wise a lt with leather seats 5.3 is the same price. A Laramie bighorn=ltz z71 and ram would beat that too, limited would beat the high country The biggest thing that always made me hesitant is that the reliability of ram is garbage, and you know what, that wouldn’t even matter if getting it fixed under warranty was possible but looking at forums it seems as tho too often something goes wrong and ram employees are to incompetent to fix it the first time second time third time and often at all. (So the peace of mind that hey I got a warranty I got it extended at least if the reliability turns shit it can be fixed without really hurting me, is taken away.)

@Brian Trudeau okay. We’ll see. Doubt it. 5th gens totally eliminated the curved hood design that they developed in the 1990s when the movie Twister came out. That red truck in Twister modeled the new Dodge Ram design with the signature curved hood that probably saved Chrysler trucks.
